Willow and Star Wars
Time

Willow in prototype looks like it would have been a lot more interesting than the movie we ultimately got. I do recall a critic or two noting similarities to Tolkien at the time.

Is there anything to suggest Lucas might have wanted to adapt The Hobbit or LOTR, and couldn't get the rights, much like he was once thwarted in his desire to make a Flash Gordon film?

All Things Star Trek
Time

The Sega and Vectrex games are totally different beasts. I had it for Vectrex and a home version of Sega for the Atari computer. Both were very challenging games. The Sega home version lacked the voices of the Enterprise crew though.

The Vectrex and the game actually appeared in a low budget SF movie called Android.

Nice to know there are still old arcade games to be found in Vegas. I was totally ruling Atari Star Wars one night in the mid 80's at Caesar's Palace, but they had a crappy policy of shutting the power to the games down around 11 at night to make the kiddies leave. :/

And this morning I was awakened by another knock at the door. (Like I can sleep with all the home improvement racket, and the guy using a leaf blower at 7:30!) It was young woman asking if they could use the phone. I let them use my ancient flip phone I keep around as a backup.

I hope you told her/them to get a cell phone, that way  she/they won't have to knock on a total stranger's door to make a phone call.

I will if she returns. I was so exhausted from lack of sleep and not feeling well, if it had been a traveling salesman, I would have a shiny new set of encyclopedias now. ;)

Nothing quite like a not very coherent shirtless guy knocking on your door at one in the morning to scare the crap out of you. First time in two decades I've felt unsafe in this neighborhood.

can you elaborate any?   what did the guy say to you?  what did he want?

He wanted to me call a cab, claiming his car had broken down. Neither of the two numbers I had handy were working and I was so shook up I was having trouble just working the phone. Someone beat me to calling the cops anyway.

His story was fishy in that this is a gated area, (as was his explanation for not having a shirt) and there were a lot of houses closer than mine to the pedestrian entrance. In the end his car turned out to be just down my street, inside the gates. I think both parties originated from a house where the cops seem to visit a couple times a month.

If the newer porchlights across the way were not blinding me I would have been able to see if the cops arrested him or not. They were gone pretty fast either way.

My night visitor left when the police showed up, but it was hard to see if he actually left in their custody.

Like I don't have enough aggravation without getting sucked into an episode of COPS.

You gotta wonder just how something like the Falcon's door closing broke his leg. His ankle would've at least made sense, they could've just had bad timing closing the door and it landed on his foot or something. But his leg? How does that happen?

With the veil of secrecy on this film, we're obviously not getting the complete picture of what actually happened.

Ford is a fitness freak like Chuck Norris, he'd be up to the challenge (if he had both his legs) -as for Hamill and Fisher though that's another story - I do hope Hamill took some acting lessons this time round...

Mark Hamill Stubs Toe, Delays Star Wars Filming ... well he's no Harrison!

 Excuse me?

Hamill's acting skills have been good enough to play Amadeus on Broadway, among other things.
