I am for you, DuracellEnergizer...
Haven't perused old lots of Betamax tapes on Ebay in a while. They have gotten more expensive. Saw one that had the SWHS in the batch, (sadly over) but other auctions without such rare shows also got into hundred dollar territory. There seems to be more demand for old sporting events and news programs than ever, unless it's some archive with deep pockets going after these.
It's a total crapshoot if the tapes are actually playable, and still have what's written on the label of course.
A lot of classic MTV promos made it onto some music video compilation DVD's released last decade. I imagine they are long out of print now.
I actually got some artwork done for a video project of mine in the 90's by the fellow who created this MTV I.D.

I miss all of MTV's animation. Especially Liquid Television. (The only thing today that even comes close to that is Off The Air on Adult Swim.) It's sad that even Beavis and Butthead couldn't get enough viewers when they revived it a few years back. Makes me want to drop a house on the entire cast of Jersey Shore. ;)
Are you sure the VHS isn't open matte? I did an A/B with the LD the first time Batman was shown on broadcast tv, and there was more picture information top and bottom.
Also worth mentioning Batman was one of the first movies to hit video only a few months after it was in theaters, (and priced to sell) so they might have rushed the video transfer to crank out enough cassettes in time to meet holiday demand. The LD didn't come out until well into 1990, IIRC. I recall being frustrated it wasn't out by Christmas '89, as the VHS was being sold everywhere you looked. It even came out on Betamax.
Not the first time a studio made us poor Laserdisc fans wait longer for a blockbuster movie. ;)
CGI has come long way since the prequels, and Serkis brings a lot to the table. If it's a character that couldn't possibly be done as a man in suit, I'm okay with that.
I'm sure the toy scalpers hit those locations too. I used to see them stroll into stores like Suncoast not too many years ago, and walk out with a case or two of figures that never hit the sales floor. Nothing quite like having a backdoor deal with the management.
I haven't even thought of setting foot in a Disney store to look for Star Wars stuff. They bought all of Star Wars, not just the parts we like. ;)
I've seen photos of Anakin and Darth Maul in the theme parks, but so far no Jar Jar...
How long before a photo of one of the bad guys in the new Mad Max movie gets passed off as the Episode 7 villain? ;)

It's mild compared to New York I Love You, where he sounds like he's trying to do Rocky Balboa. Glad I found youtube clips which saved me the trouble of tracking the DVD down.
It was a damn good thing I wasn't eating when the dream sequence came up. Those flying "creatures" were terrifying. ;)
"He's a toad." could be used as Yoda insult.
A Yoda bong has been spotted in the past. I wonder if Lucas has an archive of all the weird unlicensed items made since 1977?
The Gollum bong at least makes a little sense. And what the heck is that thing in the middle?

That gives me an idea that I could actually use. One of the censored scenes (I think...er...since I would never watch them...er....) has a full frontal nudity shot. I could include it as a dream sequence, but put a black box over her entire body. Similar to the TV cut of The Room.
You almost read my mind. There's that scene with Hayden in a bathtub with the naughty nuns you could censor. I thought that could be what's on the security hologram Obi Wan reacts to. ;)
The only SFW shot I could find...
JEDIT:And now it comes up broken. >_<

IGN just posted that the film release may be delayed due to the injury. To be honest I never liked the December release date, Star Wars films should always be out in May.
Is it wrong that I can hear Servo singing this in my head?
Hearing Servo is never wrong.
Except when he tells you to destroy Canada. ;)
The drought conditions in Southern California have been playing hell with mine. My doctor tells me people are having all sorts of issues related to the drought.
Nobody ever complains about the rounded corners on Puggo's transfers. ;)
I honestly didn't even notice the rounded corners on Harmy's work until they were pointed out. The 70mm SW frames I have in my possession all have rounded corners.

Don't worry, I was tipped off by an extra on the back of the box.
"Censored Scenes of Sexuality"
Actually I meant the tv show trailer. I am curious how the movie dodged an NC-17 though. ;)

I just popped Virgin Territory into my PC and the first thing that came up was a 3+ minute trailer for Rock of Love With Bret Michaels
Classy.
Yeah, that made no sense at all. The movie is pretty bawdy, but has nothing in common with reality show sleaze. Sorry I forgot to warn you about it.

I found his character saying "Come on! Direct me!" unintentionally hilarious. I'm sure he wanted to say that on the prequels more than once. ;)
I wonder if it would play to have him say that while he runs past Smurf Lucas outside the opera.
I also like that he says "babe" several times.
YES! Do it!
Once they shoot all they can without Harrison, they would probably have to shut down for a time until he's better in any scenario. The delay might benefit the effects side of things.

Between this and Virgin Territory, Hayden must love his agent.
Leigh Brackett inducted, along with some other people you've heard of...

What I learned from the movie: Don't leave college for the 1960's New York art scene, fall in love with Andy Warhol and REDACTED because the real person would sue, and whatever you do, don't inject drugs into your butt! I found it more interesting from the technical side, as they shot it on 16mm, and even used Super 8 for a couple shots.
Maybe Virgin Territory will ease your pain? Or not...
When did this turn into the Monty Python argument sketch? This is why we can't have nice things. :(
Wow! It didn't occur to them the thing was worth money? There are emulators of it around.
Please tell me you didn't have the 3D Imager...
There was a group of six petrified knights who are revived to aid the hero in the 1962 film The Magic Sword. (Although it appears they were willingly cast under a spell, as they were promised as a 21st birthday gift to the hero.) Seems to be an idea that gets around.
