Sounds like Greg Weisman is casting his old pals from Gargoyles? Most of the TNG cast voiced regular characters on the show.
I watched the new blu ray release with the correct mono the other night, and I could hear faint background noise throughout. It's certainly better than the lossy mono on the 2007 disc.
One little detail about the tv footage I had forgotten about is that there was a title card with a date before the auditorium scene with Loomis that's gone missing. Did any of the previous releases have that? I can't dig out my Criterion to check at the moment.
In case anybody wondered what Rocket might have been like if they made GOTG in the 80's.

I don't think any Atari games ever got licensed for it. (Pole Position was released, but that was originally a Namco game.) By the time Atari was making games for other systems, poor Vectrex was kind of dead.
People make homebrew Vectrex games to this day, so you'd think somebody would take a crack at it.
I miss my old console, even though it buzzed loudly, (they all did) and I was probably absorbing radiation from the screen. ;)

That image is of such poor quality, it's hard to tell if it's a fake or not. That saber hilt seems a tad impractical though.
The intro to that Japanese home version has some graphics that might make a good sight gag, (low resolution FX renders that Lucas forgot to replace?) and a pretty good recreation of the movie graphics.
The pre battle briefing could then have the trench run from the game.
You could also stick stick other SW inspired games into the targeting displays of the fighters and the Falcon.

The tactical display in Rebel HQ could also be replaced with something, but I'm not sure what...

Most if not all of those scenes are in the extras on the Blu Ray in HD. They certainly could have made a seamless branching version if they really wanted to.

What I remember of the show is it was pushing the limits of 1970's video effects. Would be so easy to put actors into miniature sets now.
