How often does one see a pressed copy of Turkish Star Wars?

The same seller has Turkish prequel VCD’s that look legit…

Overly-zealous is my guess. No one pays money to attend what is essentially a giant ad campaign–sorry, “Celebration”–unless they’re already drinking the Star Wars Kool-Aid.

Is my cynicism showing?

Yes. I’m sure lots of people just go to wear their costumes, get autographs from the actors, or blow the college fund in the dealer’s room.

I would like to see someone project Harmy’s work on the side of the convention building though. 😉

The red troops could potentially be a sign the New Order has split into two factions. One loyal to Kylo and the other to Hux? A three sided war is something we haven’t had yet. Two sides fighting each other and both trying to destroy the Rebellion.
Kylo may wear the mask in front of the troops or when he’s with the Knights.

The only things that I’m not a huge fan of are the apparent repairs of Luke’s lightsaber and Kylo’s helmet. The idea of taking stuff that was destroyed in TLJ and the just fixing them for 9 seems to me to just be discounting the forward progression of the story.

I mean, I didn’t even like it when Poe repaired his jacket for Finn to use between 7 and 8. Or the fact that Obi-Wan apparently just recreated his lightsaber from TPM when it was lost and then lost it again in AOTC. Man these things annoy me.

On the opposite side, I love the fact that the Falcon had a new dish array in TFA or that Anakin had a different lightsaber in AOTC that got destroyed so that he could make his iconic one for ROTS.

Thus ends my rant

Could also be a similar jacket? I’m sure there’s a seamstress droid somewhere who fixes up clothing. Otherwise our heroes would be in rags with all the action they’re in.

In ROTJ making your own saber was stated as being a sign your Jedi skills were complete. (And Luke did so in a deleted scene.) So fixing Luke’s saber ought to count, especially if parts are hard to come by now. Not like there’s a repair shop Rey can take it to. Unless Maz knows how to fix it. They have to shoehorn her into the movie again somewhere. 😉

In the prequel era there’s probably an armory in the Jedi temple full of spare sabers. Otherwise, they’d be building them from scratch all day long. A padawan is probably only required to build one once. When the Jedi show up in the arena in AOTC, they have two extra ones handy to throw to Obi Wan and Anakin.

Possible poster leak: https://thegeekiverse.com/possible-star-wars-episode-ix-poster-leaked/

EDIT: beaten to it.

If this poster is legit, it seems (at least from what we can make out from this poster), that we’re sadly still mostly recycling classic ship designs. The Knights of Ren look cool though… C-3PO with Chewie’s weaponary might suggest we’ll be saying goodbye to another classic character.

It would be ballsy to kill Chewie after the whole Vector Prime novel fiasco. The author got death threats.

I loathe the idea of Threepio using a firearm. AOTC flashbacks.

Where’s Rose and Leia?

Maybe it’s a situation where Threepio exceeds his programming and desperately acts to save lives? Kind of like that TNG episode where Data was pushed too far. Or maybe he’s impersonating a droid bounty hunter as a ruse? If Leia and Chewie can cosplay as one… 😉

“Until this battlestation is fully operational, we are vulnerable. The Rebel Alliance is too well equipped; they’re more dangerous than you realize.”

“Dangerous to ‘your starfleet,’ commander, not to this battlestation.”

Tarkin also underestimates them because he overestimates the Death Star’s invulnerability. The station doesn’t have any Star Destroyers protecting it, something Palpatine apparently took into account setting up the trap in ROTJ. And Tarkin ordering the base on Scarif vaporized doesn’t technically count as a Rebel win.
With likely no surviving Imperials on the ground to contradict his view of the situation, Tarkin made himself look good and everyone down on the planet, (including Krennic) was collateral damage. Even though he couldn’t know the Rebels were unlikely to take the base, (which they weren’t actually trying to do) he saw the opportunity to put his new toy to use.

The PCM audio capture is done. I just need to finish listening to it to make sure it’s good. If my internet gets upgraded next week as scheduled, I can try uploading it as I should have better speeds that I get with DSL, which is being phased out around here.

Will try to get to the video capture soon as I get the other player hooked back up to the DVD recorder.

I found a bunch of those SW weekly issues here in the states back in the late 80’s at a curio shop that sold everything from antiques to old magazines. Many of the pages had been colored in by someone with magic markers, much to my annoyance.
Coincidentally, this was previously the location of a Mom & Pop toy store which was the only place I ever saw the Kenner die cast Tie Bomber in the wild. I kicked myself for never buying it. 😉

The issue is not about being logical or not, the real trick is: this piece of information of the DS being sabotaged by its own engineer is a rationalization of something magical/Force related in ANH, and it was totally unecessary. That’s why I compare that to the midichlorians: going for magic to something… logical, mathematical, biological, rational… it goes 100% against the spirit of the OT and particularly of ANH.

The fact dialogues in ANH have now a weird inconsistency with R1 ret-con is another issue, but not the worst.

(and at least PT inconsistencies are set some 20 years before ANH, not 5 minutes prior to it 😕)

Isn’t it Rogue One that is inconsistent with ANH, not the other way around?
