I can't believe this is from the same people who worked on Toy Story and other familiy movies :D

Bored animators do things that would clash with the squeaky clean image of their studios all the time.

When the eventual 4K version of Episode One comes out, someone will probably discover two battle droids making out or something far in the background. ;)

Fanboys were bestowing reverence back in 1978. ;)

Why is it so improbable that he's not dead? He was the only one who fell into the Sarlacc wearing a suit that would provide some degree of protection, and built in weaponry to give it one bad case of heartburn.

He might even be retired and regrets his past now. A lot can change in 30 years.

I thought Boss Nass was the ONLY gungan "Fat Guy" because he's their leader. It doesn't make sense, but then again, the name Jar-Jar does?

I think it was on the DVD commentary that mentioned that's what Gungans look like when they age. As with Jabba, George was probably going for a Sydney Greenstreet vibe.

There was a fat Gungan or two elsewhere in TPM.

Perhaps, but I wouldn't want to watch it alone, the last act is kind of dark. Bottom of the Mariana Trench dark. (And I've watched Manos uncut!) I feel like I've seen inside Tommy Wiseau's long haired leathery soul and am forever changed.

This was the first time I'd seen the entire movie. Saw a few minutes back when Adult Swim ran it as an April Fool's joke, and thought it was some Cinemax flick.

I was pretty surprised Rifftrax didn't censor or cut anything. My eyes! Some people should never ever be seen naked.

If Disney ignores the prequels but keeps promoting the SEs, how are they going to explain who that ghost next to Yoda at the end of ROTJ is?

First of all, it's still Lucasfilm, not Disney at the wheel.

Secondly, at Celebration there was a lot of prequel love. There was a clear undercurrent of resentment toward the current OT focus.

I'm afraid it's only a matter of time before it resumes infecting the rest of the franchise. It's already started in the Marvel comics.

 Resentment from whom?

There are plenty of prequel references in Rebels, so it's not like it's being ignored.

The Clone Wars are 50 years in the past by the time of Episode 7.

Fans. There was quite a lot of murmuring for attention to be brought back to the PT era. As for Rebels, that's Clone Wars stuff. I know I'm not alone in holding that show in a much higher regard than the PT.

I'm sure as long as JJ and or Kasdan are involved the new trilogy will probably steer clear of that stuff. But the young twenty-somethings that are coming up are chomping at the bit for synergy between the two trilogies.

Seriously though, what's left in the prequel era that TCW has not explored? (They ought to consider finishing the "lost" episodes.) I doubt the ten years between TPM and AOTC holds any surprises.

Well, isn't it that way in the comics? I liked team ups when I was a kid. That's what made the first Avengers film so much fun. And I don't think it's ever been done in movies before.

It may have been done to death since the 70's, but this crossover was a pretty big deal when I was a kid.

There is already connective tissue between GOTG and the rest of MCU, but I don't want to see them turn up on Earth unless there's a darn good reason.

If there's ever a crossover with the Avengers, it should be on GOTG's turf. Then they end up needing Starlord and company's experience to survive, after getting their asses handed to them of course. ;)
