I'm amazed at how different the two simultaneous discussions in this thread have become in only three short pages...
;)
So anyway, I'm not trying to tell anyone how to run the forum. If it works and no one cares, I don't either. I just am surprised and wanted to comment on it, that is all. If you feel no need to bring down the hammer, Silverwook, I'm fine with that.
I'm going to defer to the Emperor's judgement in this matter.
Again, moderators are not omnipresent. If this has been going on for a while, somebody should have spoken up a lot sooner.
I honestly thought DJ was the only member of Team Blu that posted here. But I don't follow everything around here that closely.
Since apparently nobody looks in the Vimeo/youtube finds thread much...

Is that the new Star Wars stunt show in Florida? ;)
There were real sets built for the prequels. Just not this big.
We dealt with this nearly three years ago.

A 90 minute bad movie will seem like several hours, a good long movie will seem much too short. ;)
Walmart had bins of cheap VHS movies too, as did other stores back in the day. And VHS decks hovered around $50 in their final years, although late models often were pretty cheapo on the inside and more plastic than metal.
Video companies such as Goodtimes even specialized in bargain bin releases, often recorded at inferior slower speeds. I was pretty surprised they made the transition into the DVD era, although they are defunct now.
I didn't say it had to make sense. I only just noticed the censor box on the fourth viewing. Nevermind. ;)
Yes, Rear Window. :)
Might be funny if Anakin said yes instead of no?
Yes! You used the Goofy holler! :)
Where did you get the British People bit from? That's hilarious!
Anakin's No! and Mace's cries of pain seem kind of low in the mix.
You could use the street crowd looking up in AOTC, to establish people actually do see all this going on, then go back to minding their own damn business. Or just Jimmy Stewart freaking out?
Would it be funny if Palp's Force lightning sounded like Ghostbusters proton beams?
You missed the chance to do another car alarm gag when Anakin walks away from his speeder. ;)
4K has it's place in restoring, preserving, and projecting films, even if it never finds a home video niche.

Theatrical mixes is the main thing.
Agreed.
Is there any reason to believe any DTS LD's were remixed in any way? The exception being films that never were in DTS theatrically...
Mortal Kombat sounds like it should to me, unlike the Blu Ray.
You have got to be kidding me! And Dr. Who fans got no scrutiny, as that was a proper British series of course.
And since when did The Lawnmower Man have a following anyway? If your doomsday plans are based on a Tron knockoff movie that bore no resemblance to the Stephen King story it was allegedly based on, you've got issues. ;)
As a big fan of The Shining, I was disappointed they focused on the lunatic fringe theory people. I stumble across that stuff all the time in web searches, and there are some even more crazy than those in the doc.
The movie itself is fascinating enough without all that baggage.

Well, isn't it that way in the comics? I liked team ups when I was a kid. That's what made the first Avengers film so much fun. And I don't think it's ever been done in movies before.
It may have been done to death since the 70's, but this crossover was a pretty big deal when I was a kid.
There is already connective tissue between GOTG and the rest of MCU, but I don't want to see them turn up on Earth unless there's a darn good reason.
If there's ever a crossover with the Avengers, it should be on GOTG's turf. Then they end up needing Starlord and company's experience to survive, after getting their asses handed to them of course. ;)
How did they get a whole comic out of that. I mean I love Spider-Man as much as the next guy but I fail to see how he would last five seconds in a battle against Superman.
Supes and Spidey have a brief tussle, before teaming up against Lex Luthor and Doc Ock, didn't have quite the same ring to it. ;)
IIRC, Lex zapped Spidey with red sun radiation, which briefly made it a fair fight.
There's always the old school dial up modem sounds? ;)

I seem to recall this same argument within Gargoyles fandom. In any case, when real non-mammalian aliens show up we'll have something to debate. ;)
Wouldn't they have to pay the original actor's if the cartoon voices were too close to theirs anyway? The animators obviously don't draw the Ghostbusters to look like Murray, Ackroyd, Ramis, or Hudson for similar reasons.
There were female Mon Calamari designed for Episode III. They were swimming in the water show Palpatine was watching in the opera house scene, but ended up too small to actually be seen in the movie.

This might outdo that French tv show clip!

I'm not sure how many people will get the Windows startup joke, but it works for me.
Would it be funny if one or two of the stills zoomed right into an eye, nostril, or mouth?
Turns out she's the girlfriend of one of the Mythbusters crew.
