There's a collector market for those Hallmark ornaments. They've been doing the summer release thing for quite some time. Ever since the first Star Trek ornament they did in the 90's, it gets a little crazy with those. And they do Star Wars too.

Showing Xmas movies on Halloween is pushing it though. (Unless it's The Nightmare Before Christmas.) I was pretty horrified when the all music channel on my cable system didn't start playing Halloween music until Oct. 15th and went right to Christmas on midnight of the 31st. They didn't stop playing holiday tunes until February!

The only thing that takes the sting out of the holidays is that Krampus is becoming a thing in the U.S. There are two Krampus movies coming out, and one has William Shatner in it. ;)

Or a penny pinching measure. You'd have to be in a cave to not know HD was going to be the new standard at the time.

Seems a little short sighted for EOD to have been shot in standard def in 2004.

Anything over ten years old is "vintage" to some people. :/

Not quite complete, The Underwater Menace is finally getting a DVD release this year. ;)

Fox is in a bit of a pissing contest with Marvel over the movie rights to The Fanstastic Four though. And Disney owns Marvel.

Yet he saw these costumes and puppets being built and camera tests done with them at ILM. (Months before they were shipped to the set in England.)

George even suggested Sy Snootles be the singer. Star Wars To Jedi clearly shows this.

And AAWIL lead to Michael Jackson wanting him to direct Thriller.

I wish he would finally make See You Next Wednesday. ;)

I don't think they had seen the photo. It was the mention of a female Voyager cast member, and they knew it wasn't Kate Mulgrew.

Casual viewers might not even remember Kes anymore than they do Dr. Pulaski these days.

Scans of those would certainly add to the extras we could put on a final Blu Ray of the 16mm.

I like the concept of this, (confuse the heck out of your classmates with their trendy Star Wars lunchboxes!) but a little more effort could have been put into it. ;)

I think once you have the cheek bones and narrow gaunt chin you have Tarkin / Peter Cushing obviously with the hair do also. Crooked nose prosthetic and so on.

So even if they did do a cgi re-creation they could scan that as a reference so It could possibly be up there with the likes of the schwarzenegger T-800 (terminator 1 model) which was done from scanning a cast that they used to make his fake head where he gouges his eye out.

Personally all CGI is no good though it should be a mix of both real and CGI if they go for a re-creation. especially the eyes are lifeless, so it works for Terminator but not if someone has lines to deliver.

After seeing 'Skinny Steve Rogers' in Captain America and 'Young Michael Douglas' in Ant-Man, I have no doubt they can bring back Peter Cushing. As as long as his family were ok with it, and assuming he didn't hate Star Wars like Alec Guinness, I think I'm ok with it too.

 IIRC, there was one 80's Starlog interview where he lamented that Tarkin got blown up, and couldn't be in the sequels.

Most of the LD releases were widescreen, except for Hong Kong, but that has subtitles.
