If you need to B*tch about something other than originaltrilogy.com... This is the place
Time

Ok, let’s start being a lot nicer in here and respect other’s tastes in animated entertainment.

I watch Teen Titans Go! from time to time. Cartoon Network shows it so much now it’s actually hard to miss. It’s often stupid, but sometimes it’s brilliant. The Night Begins To Shine multi-parter was like a love letter to the 80’s and could have been easily an episode of the previous TT series. Still amazed that song isn’t actually from the '80’s. And the one recent episode done in cheapo 1960’s Filmation style was hilarious.

The Force Awakens: Official Review Thread - ** SPOILERS **
Time

Bars filled with alien creatures in the Star Wars universe are as ubiquitous as sports bars on our planet. Nobody complains when characters in a non Star Wars film go to one.

I don’t even have issues with the diner scene in AOTC, because even people in the GFFA must go somewhere to eat.
I’d love to see a Imperial cafeteria, with long lines of troopers complaining about the food. 😉

Surely the post office or P.O. box type business can assist in figuring out who mailed them? I would think a mass mailing that large doesn’t go unnoticed. Those responsible might have even been dumb enough to get all that crap printed somewhere. The part about cricket fields is kind of random.
How can you even mail stuff anonymously in 2017?

I’d say it’s still pretty easy to mail anonymously. My family got mailed white supremacist literature via USPS, we handed it over to the cops, and… nada. It’s been years. I’d be more interested to know if any hidden copier or printer codes are buried in those images. We’d probably have a better chance uncovering where those were produced than where they were mailed. Also, I know a postal inspector. It’s all about people mailing drugs, so the resources are already committed elsewhere.

I would think a return address would be required these days. Yeah, people could give a bogus address or Wrigley Field, but not having one at all ought to be a red flag if not a yellow one.

Also curious what happened to Vader’s red sabre. Did Luke retrieve it before Death Star II blew up?

It fell into a black hole and was transported to a galaxy even farther away. There it was found by a civilization of machine entities, who gave it intelligence and built for it a new machine body. It then took to roaming the universe, in search of its creator.

S’ber must find and join with the creator.

Help Wanted: '2001: A Space Odyssey' - 35mm Preservation (original 1968 prints obtained) (* unfinished project *)
Time

That’s interesting as I long thought the 1985 Japanese LD (the first letterbox version released) came from a 35mm element as there’s no intermission break. The LDDB says a 70mm print was used.

Long ago I had read that nobody had made a telecine capable of handling 70mm before the 1990’s.

Current Events. No debates!

Has anyone been following the story of those two women who were adrift with their dogs in a damaged sailboat for five months? Seems like some holes are cropping up in their tale.

The cynic in me feels like this might another Balloon Boy type hoax designed to get a book or tv/movie deal.

That can only mean one thing…the inundating of the radio airwaves with God awful Christmas songs. I love the Christmas season, but I loathe Christmas music.

The seasonal music channel on my cable system stopped the Halloween stuff at 5 am and went right into Christmas music as they always do.

‽ Is there no Thanksgiving music? My God, Christmas music should be banned until Thanksgiving Day is over.

One year they started at 3 pm on Halloween, much to my horror.

‽‽‽ That is insane!

One time the Christmas music kept playing into March.

‽‽‽‽‽‽‽‽‽‽‽‽‽‽‽‽‽‽‽‽‽‽‽‽‽‽‽‽‽‽‽‽‽‽‽‽‽‽‽‽‽‽‽‽‽‽ wtf‽‽‽‽‽‽‽‽ until March‽‽‽‽‽‽‽‽‽‽‽‽‽‽‽‽‽‽‽‽‽‽ They should be arrested!

There haven’t been too many animated Thanksgiving tv specials, so I can’t imagine there are catchy songs about it. Maybe if Rankin/Bass had cranked out Rudolph saves Thanksgiving?
Thanksgiving movies tend to about the Pilgrims or somber family dramas. Then there’s Free Birds which is way too disturbing for a kid’s movie.

As for the music channels, I suspect they are highly automated and seldom checked on. I heard some weirdness this year where one song was playing in the background of another and this happened more than once. Last year I definitely heard some sort of hard drive hiccup.
They program mushy romantic stuff for Feb now, so I doubt the never-ending Christmas fest will happen again.

Since 2014, I’ve recorded hours and hours of the Halloween stuff, and that helps when the Holidays get me down.

I’m so tired of Christmas music that I’m now tired of complaining about Christmas music.

I like Christmas music, but feel they should start AFTER THANKSGIVING…

But I loooathe those stop-animation Christmas cartoons that run every year on TV.

Ugh. No. Stop it.

You don’t like Rudolph? You monster! 😉
