Not possible. Just ignore it, forget about it and everyhing will be fine. It won’t spring to life and start eating brains or anything.

I’m old enough to remember when the MPAA demonized VCR’s.
I’m kind of shocked that some of you guys are more excited by the prospect of this allowing Star Wars/Superhero movie rights to be cleaned up rather than horrified at how this shows that it’s within Disney’s power to own more than half of the studios producing mainstream movies. Hopefully this won’t fall through.
Disney is the Borg. I’ve made peace with that. 😉
Now if Comcast was to sell them Universal, then I’d be worried. I would think it would be business as usual at Fox is this goes through. I don’t think they’re going to suddenly stop making R rated action films or anything.
Unless one owns a crap load of stock in either company, we really don’t have any control over this.
A close personal friend of mine would like to be letter J. 😉

Whoa. That would also get X-Men and The Fantastic Four movie rights sorted out. I don’t think the world can survive another bad “we’re cranking this out just so we don’t lose the movie rights” FF film.
I mean if we’re making assessments then we might as well point out that being this into a show arguably as child targeted as Dora the Explorer and Blues Clues as a grown man would suggest pedophilia. And that’s not an accusation, may pointing out what this would suggest to me. At the very least it’s a warning sign and if you don’t think so we’ll just have to agree to disagree. I know I’m not a bully in general but will admit that by this stage I don’t give a shit about chyrons feelings.
This is not going to lead to a good place where you’re going with this. I’ve seen no evidence to date MLP fans are pedos and to even hint at it is only making this train wreck worse.
I’m also unaware of Dora or Blues Clues putting in references to R rated Kubrick films.

SW told us all to stop.
Not that it matters but that was Jason.
Ok, let’s start being a lot nicer in here and respect other’s tastes in animated entertainment.
I watch Teen Titans Go! from time to time. Cartoon Network shows it so much now it’s actually hard to miss. It’s often stupid, but sometimes it’s brilliant. The Night Begins To Shine multi-parter was like a love letter to the 80’s and could have been easily an episode of the previous TT series. Still amazed that song isn’t actually from the '80’s. And the one recent episode done in cheapo 1960’s Filmation style was hilarious.
There’s probably a bizarre and confusing story behind the film, because I once rented it thinking it was the JTTCOTE remake with Emo Phillips and FX by some Star Wars alumni I had read about in Starlog years before, and it abruptly left turns into Alien From L.A. part II. Even more maddening is a creature from the Emo version is on the DVD cover but not in this cobbled together mess.
The film would be even more confusing to anyone who never saw AFLA. I presume Cannon films inexplicably had everyone except Kathy Ireland under contract for a sequel.
Stop it.
You don’t believe me?
I’m afraid to find out.
Be afraid. Be very afraid!

I do hope MST3K gets their hands on this.
Stop it.
You don’t believe me?
Bet you didn’t know they made a sequel to Alien From L.A. 😉
The first two are so Frinkian. 😛
Early Trek fans embraced Trekkie until the media turned it into a derisive term. Trekker came to be the preferred moniker by the 80’s.
The average non fan doesn’t see a difference between the two. Luckily I’m getting too old to care if people think I’m weird or not.
Frink could use that. 😉
For the record, I think I do know someone who’s been to a Brony con. They’re cool, drama free, and have never brought up the show with me.
I think it’s pretty dumb that a bunch of adults who enjoy Star Wars as much as we do, even going so far as to watch that which is geared towards children (i.e. the Ewok movies, CW 2003, TCW 2008, Rebels) feel justified in making fun of a guy for watching MLP.
Yeah but a grown dude watching MLP is weirder. This is nothing against chyron specifically, I just find the whole Brony thing very strange. I do not understand why they like a show that is aimed at little girls so much, and as I’ve said I’ve seen plenty of it so it’s not like I have an uninformed opinion of it.
Would you find the same thing “very strange” if a grown woman was watching it?
Dunno, are there any here?
None that I know of. I’m just asking if the situation were to come up, were you to feel uncomfortable?
Uncomfortable? Of course not! chyron does not make me uncomfortable either, as I’ve already said. In fact, he seems to be the one who is uncomfortable (around gay/effeminate men, certainly).
Revised:
I’m just asking if the situation were to come up, were you to feel that they are weird?
I actually did interact with a guy in person that said he liked My Little Pony and felt the need to remind me multiple times. This was at least four years ago and yes it made me very uncomfortable. Online, no I’m not uncomfortable, just confused.
Obviously there’s a line between proclaiming you’re a fan of something and whacking someone else over the head with it. Every fandom has it’s socially inept people. We’ve had more than our share.
Maybe we should be asking why those other kid’s shows don’t have an adult fanbase. All I’ve ever seen of MLP was the '80’s incarnation, and that was no more or less a toy commercial than GI Joe or Transformers back then.
MLP has been a part of the pop culture landscape long enough now that Bob’s Burgers did an episode making fun of the fandom, and one character on Teen Titan’s Go! watches an MLP type show within the show.
In the movie?
Yes. He’s got the dark edge, but he’s not super midichlorian powered emo teen.
That might make a cool extra for the 35mm preservation down the road, if you’re cool with that?
The old show was pretty fantastic. I heard that CN was airing it in HD now, so perhaps it will get a Blu-Ray release in the near future, but I could be wrong on both counts.
Also, the theme song!
Tv shows seem to fare poorly on Blu Ray. Only the first season of TTG has been released. Subsequent seasons have been DVD only. If Batman TAS sells well, maybe that will turn the tide.
Everybody in the OT is Ric Olie’s kid. 😉
I don’t recall if Haseo was permabanned. I’ll let you guys know.
CN has been running it back to back with TTG lately. Almost forgot how good it was. Maybe they’ll spring for proper finale one of these days. The series ended on a cliffhanger, IIRC.
Bars filled with alien creatures in the Star Wars universe are as ubiquitous as sports bars on our planet. Nobody complains when characters in a non Star Wars film go to one.
I don’t even have issues with the diner scene in AOTC, because even people in the GFFA must go somewhere to eat.
I’d love to see a Imperial cafeteria, with long lines of troopers complaining about the food. 😉as long as we see the food
Cannot unsee! 😛
