<strong>Star Wars (1977)</strong> - a 'Behind The Scenes / Making Of' <strong>images</strong> thread

So there was a talent agency specializing in Ugly looking gents? Only in England! 😉

And I can’t believe I never saw that Threepios cereal commercial before. They spent some serious money on these ads. A new shot of Ackbar’s(?) cruiser headed towards a planet and a rock alien planet in the other commercial.

Have anyone seen any photos of this droid before? The post said it was from ROTJ, but I couldn’t spot it in the torture droid scene, so this is either a background character that didn’t make the cut or they replaced it with another design at some point.

Info Wanted: The Shining - Camrip question
Time

A lot can happen over 40 years. That Japanese documentary footage with a visit to Elstree and interviews with Kubrick and his daughter Vivian, (who directed the making of doc) right after The Shining was released only surfaced a couple years ago.
There’s been some confusion for years with the U.S. and shorter European cuts co-existing, but never specifically labelled as such.

It’s a miracle those in theater recordings for Star Wars and ESB exist at all.

Info Wanted: The Shining - Camrip question
Time

Steadicam inventor/operator Garrett Brown said in a podcast interview last year that he had recently requested a print from Warner Bros. containing the hospital scene to show in one of his lecture presentations. He felt the scene was some of his best camera work, but WB declined. Not that they don’t have it. So either he’s mistaken, or a complete print is sitting in a vault somewhere.

Would like to see screen shots of these mysterious Russian cam rips if they exist.

Do cam versions even exist? Video gear was very bulky in 1980, not something you could sneak into a movie theater. Unless somebody was buddy buddy with a projectionist in L.A. or the New York area opening weekend and set something up after hours, it seems very unlikely.

I have wondered about the possibility of an in-theater audio recording, like those that have surfaced for Star Wars, Empire and a couple other movies.
