I just saw Back to the Planet of the Apes on the Spanish language network TeleXitos this afternoon, dubbed into Spanish of course. This might mean they are still shown in English somewhere?
It’s vexing that Gary Kurtz is being routinely dismissed by these people. He’s only the second name you see on the closing credits on SW and ESB.

It’s an Eopie, and the fact Obi Wan is riding one in one of the most important scenes in Episode III totally wrecked it for me. I was expecting it to fart.
For those of us who had the comics, novel, and storybook growing up, it was baffling that it wasn’t in the movie. As the radio drama expanded on it even more, you’d think Lucas would have reinstated those scenes in 1997. Putting the Biggs’ reunion/vouching for Luke’s piloting skills scene back in only pronounces their absence.
So, have any of these characters opined on the FX of other venerable classic genre films? Or is it just the OT that has to go to Carousel and renew every few years?

the same from the empire making of´s…TN1’s working on a restoration of a 16mm print of “The Making of Star Wars”, but as for right now there’s only an upscale version available. They’re also working on a 16mm print of “SPFX: The Empire Strikes Back.”
Any idea if they could use more than one print of those? Asking for a friend…
The single worst argument I ever heard was - and I kid you not - … “haha, those old 1977 special effects were so bad, just look at that scene of Han meeting Jabba.”

It’s a shame the original Wampa suit didn’t look so hot when walking, because just standing around it’s terrifying.
The irony is that some of the changes, like Weird Science Jabba and Luke’s Emperor scream have become as elusive at the OOT itself.
That slug was an enemy on the SNES RotJ game. I remember one of my friends complaining about them adding creatures that aren’t in the films. I knew it was & got to point it out n’ feel superior for a bit.
There were a couple creatures in Star Wars SNES that I was unfamiliar with.
It’s just a fun little tag that simply goes to black when George enters the plane. My old VHS cut him off before the last words. I think I ran out of tape.

Classic Creatures aired on CBS and I don’t recall bumpers for it.
SWTJ had at least one PBS pledge break before they got to the aerial shot of the barge set. It was a black frame with the SWTJ title and added text Will return. It may have been only in prints made for PBS, but it was definitely on the film. All the VHS/LD releases don’t have it.
I still need to figure out if there are any differences in the two versions of Classic Creatures besides the closing credits. The 2011 Blu Ray set dug up an ancient video master with credits on film, but all the old video releases have video generated credits.
