Honestly I never really liked the idea that someone as evil as Vader could be saved. If Luke had succeeded right away and he and Vader took out the Emperor…what then? Vader doesn’t pay for any of his crimes? Because if he is going to pay for his crimes, he’s either going to be executed or spend all the galactic years of his life in prison. And if he’s not, well then what?

Same thing with Ben at this point. It’s too late.

In the Infinities comics, Vader gets a new suit and apparently joins the Rebellion.

I find this interesting, as I had the crazy idea of a Trek Mirror Mirror type Universe when I was a kid, where the Empire was the good guys, and Vader wore white.

Politics is dumb.

A Virginia elections official reached into an artsy stoneware bowl, pulled out a name and declared Republican David Yancey the winner of a House of Delegates race that could determine which political party controls the chamber.

Virginia staged a dramatic, rare election lottery, livestreamed across the country, to settle a tie between Yancey, an incumbent from Newport News, and Democrat Shelly Simonds.

The spectacle drew national attention as an odd way to decide a highly consequential contest. But it might not be the last word in a saga that’s taken more turns than the clay that went into that wheel-thrown bowl, borrowed for the occasion from the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts .

An Arborian tree stump would have been more exciting. 😉

For those of you who have never seen Flash Gordon, you do not want to stick your hand in there!

Well he did return in the OT, sort of. 😛

I don’t get it.

Those braided things hanging off Boba Fett’s shoulder? They’re Wookiee scalps! I thought everybody knew that.

Yeah, I remember reading that someplace ages ago, but I didn’t notice them in the pic.

There was text pointing them out. 😛

That’s 'cause he fed them after midnight.

In ROTJ, I liked the Ewoks. Even remember playing with that Ewok village toy. But after the prequels came out, I learned that there were a sizable group of OT fans who hated the Ewoks. i.e. just there to sell toys, or were too cuddly or something. I can understand people not liking the Ewoks. I do hate the CGI with blinking eyes in the Blu-Rays though. Also wish the Ewoks battle scenes didn’t have that green screen look to them.

But at least the Ewoks weren’t nothing near like Jar Jar.

But I was wondering. Are there any here who hated the Ewoks, but love the Porgs?

I’m indifferent to Ewoks, neither love or hate them. They’re just there.
Well, except for Wicket. Wicket’s great.

I love the Porgs. (Up until recently I didn’t know what to call them. When I left the cinema I just called them those penguin/guinea-pig thingys). I thought they were cute and charming. That part where they’re burrowing inside the falcon’s wiring made me laugh a lot. I had a big smile whenever they were on screen.

On a different note, did that big Death Star battering ram thingy remind anybody about The Doomsday Machine from Star Trek??? Cos I got big Doomsday Machine vibes off of that thing.

In Frink’s version Commodore Decker tries to ram a shuttle craft right down that thing’s throat, only to be foiled by Rose. 😛

Disney also did a lot of sanitizing in adapting them. And now they are often better known than the source material. They did sometimes take some flak for changes to stories like Pinocchio. I saw a live action PBS production that was closer to the source material in the early 80’s(?) and was shocked at the differences. Jiminy cricket was not a nice helpful character at all. I think they stopped short of having him get squashed though. 😉

So, are they just going to completely gloss over the other students at Luke’s academy? Apparently like most of them died and a handful became Knights of Ren, which seems like something too big to simply ignore. I mean these are apparently the only other trained Force users anywhere. Where the hell are they???

Maybe Snoke sent them on an important errand. If there’s a lost Jedi temple, there must be a lost Sith temple somewhere?

Shame we never saw tarfful return.

Hard disagree.

Especially because Yoda made him a third wheel and no one wants to see that again.

That does raise an interesting possibility for the next film, as Kashyyk could probably lend aid or at least a place for the Resistance to hide out. We didn’t get to see those miles deep forests with ever increasing levels of danger in Episode III either. Seriously George?
