I think someone would have said something by now. Surprised it went as high as it did.
I think someone would have said something by now. Surprised it went as high as it did.
But that’s the best one!
Probably.
I liked the original version better. 😛

I like how the tongue icon licks any image below it now.
Here is my first go at the deleted scene.
The entire capture went smoothly, but the encoder dropped a few frames on the “enhanced” version. I can share the raw cap if someone wants it.
Can you do a side by side comparison with the cut version? Just so those of us who haven’t seen the movie in a long time get a sense of what needs to be restored?
If I have to sit through another Michael Bay film again, it will be too soon! 😛
Why is an economic adviser commenting on this? Doesn’t seem to be his bailiwick.
So, there’s a laserdisc up for bids on eBay.
Is there anyone willing and able to capture and share this (preferably in the US) if I throw a bid in? I’d need their delivery details up front.
Hopefully it goes for a little less than the 16mm print did…
I’ve got that very laserdisc. I can capture it this week.
Can you turn off CX noise reduction in your player? Some later models make this difficult to do.
I’m more disturbed by Batman Forever getting a 5/10. Granted, that is a solid F, but I don’t understand why anyone finds much redeeming quality in it.
Because it’s much better than than Batman and Robin? 😛

Fun fact:When George Clooney met Adam West, he apologized for B&R.

Bambi? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Would the stereo track from the DVD be worth going after as well? There has been more than one DVD edition, so not sure which one is the go to for that track.
I can capture it and I’m in the USA. 😃
If that falls through we might get better results from a Beta Hi-Fi if it’s in good shape.

Why not create such a thread then?
When the movie Kick-Ass was playing around here, at least one theater didn’t put the full name of the film on the marquee, (it simply said Kick-A–) and they even censored those mylar signs they put over the auditorium doors. They put black tape over the last two letters. I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry over such prudishness. I might expect such a thing from some little theater in a small town in the midwest or something, but in the middle of Southern California?
Okay. No problem!
Aw nothing. Jason will explain in detail why it’s permanent.
“Solo: A Star Wars Story” is such a revolting mouthful of words. I really wish that they’d have the guts to release something without the Star Wars brand in the title.
Disney isn’t about to risk another John Carter type marketing disaster. Seriously, the people behind that ad campaign ought to have been sacked. And by sacked, I mean forced to ride It’s a Small World at Disneyland for several hours. 😉
I agree! I’d almost forgotten about that particular boss!
The Sarlacc is just a sandworm that isn’t very mobile. 😉
Is spice just ripped straight from Dune without them trying to hide it?
According to the angry letters I saw printed in genre magazines back in '77, yes! 😛
One man’s ripoff is another man’s homage though.
What was hilarious was at least one movie critic back in 1984 thought David Lynch’s Dune film was ripping off Star Wars.
An original 70mm Star Tours reel is in an upcoming Profiles In History auction!
https://profilesinhistory.com/auctions/animation-disneyana-auction-99/
On page 115 of the auction catalog. I fear it will fetch quite a bit though. 😕
It wasn’t perfect. A bit better than the first, though. Funny, Dune is the one I was considering giving four stars,
Unless you’ve somehow seen Denis Villeneuve’s upcoming Dune, or maybe Jodorowsky’s unmade one, I don’t understand.
I don’t understand why people hate Lynch’s film so much. The production looks great, the art design looks great, the music is great, the performances are great, the plot is great, and there are very few moments that it becomes hard to follow in. If I were to check out the workprint fanedit that’s out there somewhere, it would probably be even better.
Proabably because they haven’t watched the tv miniseries adaptation that looks like they raided the costumes left over from Flash Gordon? 😉
That whole production felt and looked cheap.
Not a movie I thought was even in the public domain.
Like George’s master plan for the OT and PT? 😉
I’ve seen bootleg tapes at comic conventions with slicker cover art. 😛
I hope old Han Solo is used as a framing device. Maybe Harrison Ford providing narration throughout the film too.
So, like Stand By Me, but in space?
Wow, the forum look so different. It’s like that episode of the original Battlestar Galactica where they got caught up by those lights and their uniforms all turned white.
Am I an angel?
