By the way, as far as reediting prequels goes, the first and most important change is eliminating any trace of Wooden Christensen. Everything else is secondary.

Why not just release the better PAL version?

Did they transfer it from VHS, by the way, the way the Brazilian ones were, or does this new release have a decent look?

Apart from cutting, one would have to speed up about half of the footage - especially the wretched KKKidnapping scene and the "sssssssssssssssssskkkkkkkkkkkkuuuuuuuuuulllllllllllllllllisllllllllllllllllaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnnddddd" exchange. And since there already is a Lumpy, one might as well edit in a Mala and an Itchy.

That "WMAR" version of Holiday Special *must* have the deleted "alien commercial" scene as an extra, in its original form and with reversed audio... It's been posted here (unfortunately, in a bad Windows Mediocria format) - if it's dead, I can upload it somewhere. (Better to retransfer it from the original source, though

Additional extras, possibly as DVD-ROM content, should include the script (the PDF is online - I extracted it to a series of images, too), the transcript (that's online as pure text file) and perhaps the covers.

(How many toy commercials are there in this version now, by the way? I found 41 online.)

There was only one. One Highlander, a closed entity, with no sequels. Yes, there were some cretinous antifilms that bore its name later on and pretended to be sequels, but they had less to do with Highlander than Joel Schumacher's films have with Batman.

That's actually false. The Crate ends where it normally does, and most of the extra footage is in the cockroach episode.

That's one workprint not worth having. One would do better to download the "Creepshow" script and the comic book scan from #ebooks - there's more additional content in those than there is in the workprint.

Great idea. Insert some autopsy and road accident footage, porn and selections from "Death Scenes II" in their place. That will make them less preachy and restore that true Disney spirit that you want so much.

And that dreadful music by this hack Alan Menken must go, indeed. Replace it with some Marilyn Moronson or just random white noise. Not that there's any difference between the two.

Of course, you'll need covers for them - Ogrish and Rotten have much material that should suffice for their design. You can call them "+he Dark G0+H Edi+ions". In fact, why not reedit every frame to make all characters bleach-skinned and dressed in black leather? That will be truly "hrrrdcrrre".

I know there's a two-disc DVDR somewhere that's widescreen... BUT all the additional scenes are in full screen and lower quality. I don't know if they're just inserted taken from tape and inserted into a DVD rip, or if it was shown that way on some TV channel and recorded from it...

I haven't seen it, either, so I don't know if "full screen" in this case means open matte or Castrate-n-Scam.

I have this... two discs, full screen (cut-and-zoomed crap, not open matte, unfortunately), terrible quality.

Interesting footage, though.

I have the ending itself, though, as a decent quality MPEG-1 encode. Alan Menken sometimes puts it up on his site for a few days, at http://www.alanmenken.info/downloads/downloads1.html
Then, when the producer threatens him, he takes it down.
After a while, up it goes again...

By the way, if anyone here knows any moronmember of the test "audience" that caused this ending to be cut, please torture that person to death today.

I’ve just read a strange rumor of the lost McTiernan cut of “The Thirteenth Warrior”, with Graeme Revell’s score and all, being supposedly traded somewhere out there.

Is that actually true? I was sure that it was locked in vaults, or maybe even destroyed, and nothing of it got leaked.
