Intriguing but you know when he is in that form and he is repaired and then after he shouts Noooooooo!

So this is before he shouts Noooooooo! and breaks out of that chair thing I hope we don’t see or even hear that 😃 don’t mind the operating table or mask scenes they are actually really good.

I can see it taking place before the mask and suit is fitted and everything like that.

So this is 19 BBY either we are getting a prologue or it’s flashbacks.

I would imagine we will be getting some form of Prologue even if Vague.

Now I think I have almost all deleted scenes, shots, pieces, needed to start the project; need a new computer, though, because I can’t wait months just for rendering time!

UPDATE

  • Episode 6 - different take of R2 and 3PO entering Jabba’s palace

Test clip - taken from a BD documentary - * 30s, 37.9s (download link valid until 2017-02-02)

(left the russian audio, just to be the clip werdiert than usual!)

Yeah that I think works. And Un-trimming of sequences would essentially be I think the way to go with the odd deleted scene put in there from time to time. Not against having fun but I think the Menu material generally has a totally different feel to the original camera work unless you do complicated uses of it or partial uses of it.

RE: R2-D2 lifting up yeah the writing is no good but if you wanted to extend the shot you would have to somehow merge the 2 shots without the writing. Perhaps it is useless personally I never tried it before but I knew there was extra footage there.

You need to check the Van Ling (cantina music) Credits bloopers also and the blooper reel too for extra material.

You have not listed all the material from the ESB trailers yet. You have missed a bunch of shots off your list from that still.

A couple of shots but alternate audio of Vader striking the walls with Lightsaber and good quality deleted explosion,

Yeah you have to go to the language options on the 2004 DVD menu on the Dagobah themed menu to see the extended lift up of R2-D2 poking his head in the window. It’s totally re-framed but I think it works better in that framing too.

A new TV spot with new shots and Giacchino music score

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jdlClcSa-y8&feature=youtu.be

Also we have had a name drop on the prision where Jyn is held in shackles called Wobani (Planet?)

Seriously feels like it should have been Kessel not to mention the prototype Death star firing mechanism used there. + Spice Mines. Nothing to do with the Kessel Run either that is something different (secret smuggling trade route) just the infamous prision with the Spice Slaves oh well.

Wobani it is…

Apart from Yavin and Deathstar it may all be new.

Well I am not a Star Wars Super Expert but you need to look at a few documentaries also.

You need to look at the original Making of Star Wars (1977) there are a few shots in that.

You will find a better alternate take of Han Running up the Ramp on to the Falcon from a different angle. You also get shot’s of Landspeeders driving through Mos Eisley. Tie Fighters being blown apart on blue screen. Deleted Y-wing fly over.

Deleted Magic I can’t seem to find a good quality version of it now days has cool stuff in it too. It has the Landspeeder display when R2-D2 is located, so I don’t know where that came from either originally as it’s a compilation from various sources.

The Best Deleted Footage for Empire is in some of the trailers although the best one for cut footage is not in cinemascope. You won’t be able to use the take of Vader force lifting and choking Luke off the Gantry Crane and throwing him down the shaft either. As it was obviously changed 😃

There is an extended snippet of R2-D2 lifting himself up to the window of Yoda’s hut from the 2004 DVD menu of Empire

Empire Strikes Back SFX documentary has some alternate audio.

don’t use the shot of Vader communicating with Luke in Return of the Jedi lightsaber construction scene. Vader in his meditation chamber was from Empire Strikes Back.

That about covers All that I can think of at the momment.

thanks for the informations! I’m aware there are many scenes/shots not even filmed, or lost, or (probably) hold in some secret place, ready for 40th (or 50th) anniversary… who knows?

Re: Empire

My general thoughts are that if the filmed scoring sessions by John Williams were unearthed then we would actually find most of the missing material in a cohesive order to earlier proposed final cut before the budget went south and certain decisions had to be made on what was feasible in both time and money. I am holding out for those scoring sessions to become available even with storyboard cards or animatics. I asked the right person I think even though he was a bit at odds with who should dictate what… music editor or a film editor? (post the music being scored mind).

This would not really apply so much to any of the others.

Between the others, latest finds that I think are interesting:

  • Luke and Leia kiss on Bespin
  • Few shots inside the Death Star corridors
  • Luke answer at Ben’s hut

Can you elaborate on These?

Empire Strikes Back is a very different Beast in fact there are scenes that were not created and or filmed cut and re-arranged. The first and third act is where most of the shuffling occurs.

The rest of the films should be simple enough to simply extend with missing shots without any re-arrangement.

I think there are 2 instances of re-arrangement in Star Wars as far as I can tell and those are the the Falcon Blasting out of Mos Eisley and the Death Star landing bay. But they are self contained re-arrangements. I think there is one to do with the pilots too (wedge Antilles) battle of yavin.

Empire Strikes Back is really shuffled up not saying it does not work in it’s theatrical or special edition state but that the context of the film is not always easily apparent and you need to look beyond seeing a deleted scene and look for missing elements that were planned to understand the context of missing sequences and the order of scenes and how things would have been slightly different. Just saying that if you really want to see an extended cut of Empire it would be quite a bit different to all the rest of the films in the Saga in how that works. And it will take a lot of your time trying to figure out what goes where and how it works and not having the footage available to do this also. But the full cut is probably only 5 minutes Longer in a very different order localised to sequences and the overall narrative and shots in a different context.

I’d also suggest not trying to include all deleted scenes or alternate takes.

Having read Catalyst, I’m pretty sure the Force sensitive character is Lyra Erso in the opening flashback. As far as TPM characters go, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Panaka as a Moff or officer or something.

Joefavs does Catalyst explain where the Erso’s run off in hiding to before Rogue one starts? Does it name the planet they go to?

Because Felicty Jones could not talk about her favorite planet in a recent interview and also in the article from making star wars site. It is called planet X and there is also mention of planet x aliens which the article assumes or explains to be the death troopers.

Not to mention that highly suspicious map we were served from Entertainment Weekly. And also a suspicious name given.

The real truth is that George killed Obi-wan as a plot device rather than keep him alive as he had nothing to do in the third act of Star Wars.

But he managed to put Obi-wan in the cockpit with Luke so it was not a bad decision really. As the Saga progressed it got more messy.

But it created a nice mythology. Sorry about that…

That begs an interesting question, did they shoot Luke’s scenes in the X-Wing before or after they made the decision to kill off Obi Wan? Could they have shot any scenes with Ben post Death Star?

Well Wedge was played by a different actor and then Wedge became Dennis Lawson so it’s possible Ben was milling about on Yavin IV at one point?

It obviously got quite a radically restructured ending.

I wonder if Ben Greeted Gold Leader as they would have known each other because Ben knew Luke’s father and so did Gold Leader.

Nobody for an instant morns the Loss of Obi-wan Kenobi either so I’d say yeah he had scenes on Yavin.

The Force ghost part of star wars has and always whills be a subject of much debate.

I always felt Yoda and Obi-wan were handled well as in their deaths and their ascension. But I never felt the same way about Vader / Anakin

In that much Ray afraid is right the more you try to apply some form of explanation to “Force Ghosts” the less mystical it is.

We don’t and should not have an explanation of how or why only the thread of where it came from, and why only certain Jedi could attain that special ability.

When Jedis die they can reappear as visions to the people they knew. Why is that a concept that needs further analysis?

Because when Jedi’s die they don’t usually show up as ghosts otherwise there would be nothing special about it. It was Qui-gon first. Then Obi-wan and then Yoda. and then Anakin.

No other Jedi was able to achieve becoming a force ghost. But it had to do with the special teachings of Qui-gon which he had learned and passed on his knowledge. Otherwise there would be millions of Force ghost Jedi floating about.

It has nothing to do with being a Jedi.

It depends how brief it would be. I don’t think there would be much to worry about Qui-gon being at the temple of the whills say in a flashback or something. It would broaden the Universe and make that association of the larger narrative.

The main point being where “Force Ghosts” originated from really. This strange mystical power that Qui-gon who was more or less operating as a bit of a maverick Jedi was perhaps one of the most progressive forward thinking Jedi.

The knock on effect really passes to Obi-wan and would give a tidbit of back story to Obi-wan’s actions when he fought Vader on the Death Star. It might ground Obi-wan’s actions much more but still serve as a surprise if you watched it for the first time after Rogue One.

I honestly think that is what they might be going for. Not trying to replace the main cast with these Cameos just bolster the narrative and grow the Universe.

When Qui gon said to Obi-wan “train the boy” which one was he talking about?

Neeson is also a very Solid actor, It would be yet another Good performer in the mix of an already solid cast.

That’s if the Rumor has any weight to it at all mind.

I am also starting to wonder how Chirrut goes blind or was he always blind?

stream adverts started…5 mins

Had bit of bad audio, I liked it a lot where the cast did not have their Star Wars hat on and some funny stories.new footage Clip was very interesting was actually quite shocked how it played. Really interesting.I think I am going to prefer this film to the force awakens. It really feels like the acting is sincere.

Tour around ILM was cool. Must be like working in a museum.

It’s from Rumours so nothing concrete, but a lot of rumours have turned out to be true. Not winding you up. It’s mentioned on Making Star Wars latest interview with Gareth Edwards regarding possible Cameo’s in France.

There is much more hints at more OT characters returning. And a new range of Rogue one toy lines back some of these up. And they are of little surprise.

But it’s weird this has been brought up alongside teasing OT characters almost a bit devisive.

Qui-gon makes complete sense.

“There were a lot of rumors in the last year or so that the prequels are off the table, but we’ve already heard of two other potential Phantom Menace characters showing up in this movie. If that pans out, it’s going to break the internet. We’ll see.”

Someone must sense Jyn is in trouble when she is a little girl, and sends Saw to rescue her, or something like that.

Liam Neeson said 1 year ago

“I don’t know [how he would return], unless you went back in time or he becomes a hologram or something. He’s a Jedi, anything could happen. It’s Star Wars world!”

“Sometime during his life, Jinn began discovering the secrets to manifesting his consciousness after death.[7] He traveled to a planet strong with the Force, a world that legend said was the birthplace of life and the origin of midi-chlorians. There, he learned from five Force Priestesses who had retained their own consciousness after death.[8] He learned that, when a living thing died, its life passed through the Living Force and into the Cosmic Force to become one with the Force. As the Living Force and Cosmic Force existed in tandem, it became possible to retain one’s consciousness and physically manifest themselves after death. Jinn was considered worthy of the knowledge of eternal life, and secretly began his training to fully unlock its mysteries.[7] He also learned from a Shaman of the Whills that achieving eternal consciousness required absolute selflessness.[3]”

The other question I have had on my mind a bit is how does Saw Gerrera lose his leg… So there you go I think that may have something to do with it also.
