STAR WARS: EP V &quot;REVISITED EDITION&quot;<strong>ADYWAN</strong> - <strong>12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW</strong>
Time

Well Seinar Fleet does develop TIEs in mass in a variety of facilities so it's possible that construction material would not be uniform through out different manufacturing facilities. As a matter of uniformity and symbolism however, having them that same cold military gray makes them more menacing...

It's kinda like the immortals in 300. You kill one but another quickly takes it's place, a never ending horde of destruction that the enemy would feel exhausted at fighting the same enemy over and over... Psychologically it makes more sense for the Empire to drain the morale of a enemy force to get in their head that they can not win. That's why ISDs and SSDs like the Executor were built at such an massively large scale... Intimidation to the point of surrender without a fight saves the Empire resources over all. The Empire plays under Tarkin's doctrine of "Rule by fear and terror"... Making them an uniform color makes sense. =D (I know, lots of EU there... but it makes sense eh? ;) ).

Shadows of the Empire was a great project. I think it dominates the prequels. I would even drool a little bit, if we could see the outrider in the Endor battle. Even if it was just a single frame from a long distance.

Not likely Dash's ship will be added to any version of the Battle of Endor but it was cool that it was added into the SE of ANH. One of the few things that was notably cool without being ridiculous about the SE.

Oh and seeing the quad laser turrets of the Falcon lighting up TIEs during the Battle of Endor would be SWEET...

One of my biggest long-term disappointments with the prequels is that they killed off Darth Maul too soon. I would much rather have had him last at least into Attack of the Clones. :(

BTW, what's this I hear about Rogue Squadron in TPM:R? I'm a little confused, because I thought that Rogue Squadron was founded sometime between ANH and ESB (and "Rogue" is a term related to "Rebel," thus it makes sense as an extension of the Rebel Alliance)?

LOL... Sorry Tim, I lead a group that is helping Adywan that is dubbed after the legendary fighter squadron known as "Rogue Squadron". =D They will not be in TPM:R. haha... (although that would make TPM that much better if a dozen X-wings showed up for no apparent reason and started to blow stuff up. XD)

Anyway, back to ESB:R... Here's a pic of the Blastech A-295s we've making for our Hoth Rebel Soliders:

When DS2's superlaser destroyed the MC80 class star cruiser "Liberty" (the first star cruise destroyed), I think the beam should go right through the ship and it's concussive energy of the hit should vape it's escorts (the frigate and the corvette that are next to it) and maybe some starfighters too. I always thought that only one ship got hit and nothing happens to the ships around it was kinda odd and it would show the crazy power of the superlaser.

More b-wings. XD

Bothans during the breifing. At least one in the background... I saw someone with a costume a while ago but it's not really well done. I was thinking maybe this image:http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Koth_Melan could be over layed onto someone in the background preferably in the shadows (spys and all..). This image originally came from the SW CCG card which takes live action images (I actually have this card too).

I'd like to mention I'm available if Rogue Squadron needs some real star-power when you get to the eventual TPM:R shoot.  I have a hero costume and everything.

Are you Ralph Brown? They guy who portrayed Ric in TPM??? It'd be an honor for the Rogues to fly with the leader of Bravo Squadron. XD However, TPM is still very far away however, since ROTJ is next. A note on that... we may have a line on Ray Park... *fingers crossed* =D

Oh and the note about a female pilot... Your wish may be granted sooner than you think. ;)

Check 005's wishlist for ROTJ:R

Let me do some mockups with the female pilot ;)

Pink 5?

That is one heckuva list already... Awesome graphics and video too! =D I saw someone said put Wookiees in the Home One briefing... Wouldn't it make more sense to put Bothans in the background somewhere? Cos like... many of them died to bring them that information and all. ;)

I think that list covered a lot of the stuff (some of it just not possible... lol). I personally would love to see more B-wings (as they were suppose to be the premier bomber class starfighters replacing the aging Y-wings) and of course more of everything in the Battle of Endor in general. I mean from what it looks like in the movie, the entire Rebellion consists of like 8 capital ships and like a dozen starfighters. lol I'd say at least 4 squadrons (12 starfighters=1 squadron) and at least double the amount of capital ships... XD

Also when the starfighters have to "pull up" arriving at DS2 the ship(s) that collide into the DS2's still operational shield (which was originally in early story boards so I agree with this addition), the ship(s) should be a Y-wing(s). Of all the Rebel starfighters they have the least maneuverability and be slow to pull up so this it makes sense for a couple to bite it that way. That's and I don't like the Y-wing... =P

I know it's the wrong thread but it might be a great opportunity to point out this ROTJ Wishlist suggestion.

Add some “signature” pilots who can die in the main battle and we’ll feel like we’ve seen them before (perhaps including female pilots or an aliens).

It would be great to have a few more people we can root for and feel sad about if they don't make it.

I think Ming should be our signature pilot in RotJ. :-D

Matte him into the briefing, show him shooting TIE's, have him blow up.  Heck, make him the one who rams the Executor!

LOL!!!! Guys, that would make my century to participate in the Battle of Endor... I'm not too fond on the dying part... However, it would be an honor to ram my fighter into the Executor though (although I'd have the sense to eject first. teehee). XD

ROTJ:R talk has already started on the Facebook ROTJ:R group as well. =)

hey, so what are LFL's feelings on revisited ming? Are they considering taking some of ady's ideas to heart?

At the lower echelons, my contacts at ILM and LucasArts love Revisited... It's a tough position for a lot of them cos of how Lucas is concerning control and what not... I have my own theories concerning LFL's position but I'll keep those to myself for now. I almost engaged Steve Sansweet at an event in Las Vegas in November but I was kinda in Imperial territory (Trooperfest, a 501st event... I was kinda err... "party crashing" haha...). Steve Sansweet it the head of fan relations for LFL and director of content for LFL. He also has the largest SW collection on Earth which I've been privledged to see (twice):Rancho Obi Wan

I'm the one next to Steve. =D

Steve's house

Mine! Mine! Mine! XD

Anyway, Steve's memory is excellent and he keep tabs on copyright issues and the like for LFL (as director of content and all) AND he keeps track of people of interest (thus he knows me by name, LOLing...). At some point I'll probe tactic-fully his feelings on it and so it'll be a reflection on LFL's position as well. I saw him a couple weeks ago too but barely got the chance to say hello cos he was swarmed by Imp again (501st... lol). At some point I'll find a good time to just say hello and inquire carefully... However, I'm sure he knows of Revisited and really... I think there's a good reason why Revisited hasn't had the hammer dropped on it. At least I have a good theory. ;)

Ming is here!  There aren't credits big enough for him in this movie.  A whole second unit dedicated to running around in the snow to enhance the movie...  It's awesome to hear about.

Greetings, Ming! It's great to know there's such a dedicated group working to shoot stuff. Can't wait to see how it turns out!

Thanks for such a detailed introduction, Ming! Hope everything goes well. :)

Enigmas said:

Great introduction, Ming! This sounds really great, how many people are in your filming group? And you said you lived in Frisco? Haha, hello from San Jose! Are you guys going up to Tahoe to film?

Haha... thanks for the awesome welcome guys! Trust me, we're as excited as you are to see this as you guys are. We never thought something like this would be something we'd be doing but there is no way we'd turn down Ady when he first requested help. At first I thought it be me with a tripod, a camera, and my X-wing gear but more and more of my people came through and immediately wanted to help when I contacted key people. The more help came the more ambitious Ady's ideas for shots became (which we will LOVE tackling).

So currently we've done some crazy stuff in the last couple of months to gather the gear we need to make things look authentic and awesome (and crazy enough pretty cheap!). =) Overall it's my Rogue Squadron, which is currently at a full dozen at the moment, and then my film crew consists of about 4-5 people... Then my costume maker and prop people which is another 4-5 people... Even my original X-wing gear was a collaborative effort (but the Hoth X-wing gear is slightly different from standard X-wing gear so we're making the thermal jacket, and other accessories right now). My room is a disaster area with boxes and gear scattered through out so I kinda can't wait to do these shots so I can get some of this crap out of here. lol...

We were looking at Tahoe but we came across an even better option at a place called "Twain Harte" which is near Yosemite. One of our friends has a cabin up there and we isolated 3 possible sites to use for our "Hoth" locals. =D My XO, Rogue Six, and all of my RS's 2nd Flight lives in SJ. XD

My team is a lil over a dozen people... Along with my Rogues, we have other friends/powerful allies who will be instrumental in pulling this off. Costume designers, prop makers, film makers, photographers, etc etc etc... So rest assured we're not approaching this half-@ssed... lol. No, we do not have the backing of the 501st or Rebel Legion. However, we do have a few real Rebels within those groups who are willing to help me directly. I resigned from the RL last year so they have no jurisdiction over me or my squadron. =P

Welcome aboard Ming, and thanks for the interesting update on what you and your buddies are involved in with the 'Secondary Unit' stuff.

So you're the one who took the 'Rogue Leader' tag here when I tried to register as that originally, lol.  It seems that you're the perfect member to have it though, judging by your credentials!  :)

So just to wish you all good luck in your mission, and it sure is neat to know that some of you could end up in as many as six shots, which is more than I expected.  I have a feeling that Adywan's whole AT-AT battle is going to be a real showpiece for his work by the time this is all done....

Sorry to snag the "Rogue Leader" tag. ;) I've been Rogue Leader of my Rogue Squadron for over a decade and originally it was formed to coordinate for the Prequels... *shudder* (lol Don't get me started...) Over the years Rogue Squadron has done some amazing things all over the planet. We had a website but geocities kinda died and thus the website died with it too... A lot of the images have been saved on Facebook though and I will recreate it someday soon I hope (well especially after ESB:R cos this is the most insanely awesome thing we've ever done! XD And that's saying something... lol). =D

VincentSmalls said:

RogueLeader... you're making me very jealous that I didn't move out to San Fran when I had the chance! Dammit, sounds like a lot of fun (and hard work no doubt)... looking forward to see some damn fine results!

We're hoping we can live up to everyone's expectations on this! XD After viewing ANH:R we were floored and we were like, "Why doesn't LFL do this?!". lol... So to be apart of Adywan's team now and to help him do this for ESB:R was a no brainer. =) If you guys are on Facebook you should join all the Revisited groups (I kinda started the first Revisited group there but my original title for the Revisited group was called "Make Adywan's A New Hope Revisited THE OFFICIAL version of ANH" hahaha...(it's now "Adywan's Star Wars: A New Hope Revisited" XD). Little did I know I'd end up in this position... lol...). Ady has posted some great videos and pics and I have as well concerning some sneek peaks of weapons and gear we're making for the shots. I'll post what I can here too. =D

Hoth Solider preview

Please keep in mind that this is far from finished as we're waiting for elements like the vest, backpack, gloves and boots. The gun actually has an accurate looking stalk now comparable to the Blastech A-295 (this is an older picture of the blaster rifle). Working to get the correct tint on the goggles too... 8D

Will post more pics later. =D

Edit: Oh! and as a point of interest, the flash light and laser sight attachment do really work. XD

Hi all, been monitoring this thread/group for a while now and I swear you watch ESB in slow-mo to catch all these things. You guys rock! XD

Anyway, allow myself to... err... introduce... myself. =D

Name is Ming, I'm a huge fan of Ady's work with ANH:R, and am the lead of Ady's Secondary Film Unit in the US for ESB:R to reshoot some things Ady wants to have in ESB:R. Ironically I actually do have my very own personal group I've dubbed "Rogue Squadron" (est. 1997 ;) ) and so it's further ironic we have the amazing fortune to work with Ady and help him with ESB:R now. I guess you can say it was the will of the Force. ;)

The reason I'm addressing you all now is cos I just recently caught up with the latest messages here and I saw some general interest in the US 2nd Unit and so I thought I'd pop in and say hello (I've had an account for a while actually but never used it... lol). =) I also thought I'd answer any questions you guys have concerning preparing for ground assault. XD

Here's some general information:

#1 We are based in San Francisco Ca. Lucas's backyard! (Was actually at LFL's Letterman center Sunday for a meeting with an old friend =D). California is also known to have over 50 micro climates, so we have all planetary weather terrain's covered for: Hoth, Endor, Tattooine, etc... =)

#2 We're standing by to shoot but due to the delay concerning Ady's unfortunate circumstances we're hoping to target early or mid-March now. (Our thoughts and prayers are with you Ady, Rogue Squadron will be ready when you are. No worries bro.)

#3 I will not go into the exact scenes/details Ady wants us to pick up for him (cos I think he likes surprising you guys. ;) ) but we will be doing elements for no less than 6 different shots and they are all on Hoth. Snow trip for my Rogues. XD

#4 My team is a lil over a dozen people... =P

#5 About me personally concerning SW, I've been involved in so many adventures concerning SW I guess you can say I'm a jaded veteran now (and after that travesty called the prequels who wouldn't be jaded right? =P). My "Bothan" spy network is world-wide and in California, I know practically everyone worth knowing concerning the local SW community including some at LFL (yes, I'm probing some of them concerning their feelings on Revisited... casually ;) ). I am an EU specialist and have near photographic memory when it comes to totally obscure crap concerning the SW EU (I know Ady doesn't give a flying bantha poodoo about the EU concerning Revisited so I don't intend to bring any of that into the forum here. =D). I also love lightsaber combat and kenjitsu and have taught it to others. I have full X-wing gear, Jedi gear, and almost complete Hoth Rebel Solider gear (hint hint ;) ).

Anyway I think that's a good over view and I hope that answers some questions. =) I'll pop in again soon and check in. May the Force be with us all! =D

You are needed. A ROTJ remake - Do you want to help?
Time
Sorry, I had to join up and write something because this is the first thread I have read here. First off, every point Scuffy had was completely valid and made sense. If you're ignoring EU and Prequel trilogy stuff this story might make sense (kinda), but even so, your asking for the impossible on this to make it into a fan film.

Also, to say you're getting mad at Scruffy for his reply is kinda wrong. You asked for what people thought and he had the patience and working knowledge of the SW universe to pick apart this story with a very complete and reasonable reply. If you're this sensitive to defend your position and work I don't think you will be able to muster a group to be able to knock this out anyway. Key thing with any big project is so know your limitations and what you can work with and possibly how much you can surpass that limitation. A project of this size would invovle shoots in several locations, the assitance of the 501st, huge sets along with CGI enhancement of those set, and a large cast with a bunch of tall folks for the wookiees.

A couple of points about the story as well:
Wookiees are an intelligent species who do understand Basic so they really wouldn't need a translator. It's humans who would have to learn their language. They are also rather advance in technology and a space faring species.

Flying an Income T-65 X-wing is not an easy thing. Even if someone like Leena who is on as you said, a "primitive world", has working knowledge of the Force it doesn't mean she would know how to lock s-foils in attack position or have the piloting instincts in a dog fights. When some one tells her to do something like "Roll into a Split S and frag the squint on the portside" or "Clear your scanner and I'll feed you my targeting telemetry for the next pass on that Imp Star Deuce Mark Two", She'd be like "What in the blue hell?!" At least Luke had his Incom T-16 on Tatooine which have controls similiar to the T-65. Also Anakin as a 10-year old raced pods and lived in Mos Espa near a spaceport probably had a fair idea on how to "pilot" but we even saw how weak that was in TPM, "oops!". If Leena was already an established pilot and had some kinda tatical knowledge then that would be totally different but that means a scene with something similiar to some primitive fighter craft where Leena would be taking the talk of a pilot.

Also Ackbar in a fighter craft is kinda weird unless he's not an Admiral and of course he's in a modified B-wing. Mon Calimari needs special adjustments to their fighters since their eyes have a very different spatial oreintation that humans along with the modifications to the fighter crafts control panels. Also if Ackbar is not an Admiral, then who in the heck is leading the assualt at the Battle of Endor? Mon Mothma is a leader but is no tactician. Leia has played the part of diplomat, ground troop, and princess but she is no pilot much less space battle tactician. Crix Madine is a commando and probably does know how to pilot but is not a tactical genius in space combat. Jan Dodona was captured after the Battle of Yavin... Wedge is a awesome tactician but he's only a squadron leader at this time... General Reekein maybe a good choice but as far as we know he only has coordinated a ground defense from an orbital assualt. Ackbar has to be an Admiral and during the battle so he couldn't be zooming around in ANY fighter craft because starfighters are too easily vaped.

Wedge put it best in an X-wing Rogue Squadron novel 'I know you like mixing it up just as much as I do Admiral, you just like the big ships while I like the fast ones...'. Well he actually thought that in his head and didn't say it to anyone but the quote stood out for me.

Also, Ackbar is so Winston Churchill and that's bloody cool! I love when he says "It's a trap!" because if anyone has seen "Star Wars in 30 Minutes" totally knows what I'm talking about!

Anyway, whatever the out come of this idea. May the Force be with ya all.
