***The "Darth Editous" Episode IV DVD Info and Feedback Thread*** - a partially "de-specialed" DVD

No, no...2015 will mark the release of Version 18 of DE's Episode IV.

Seriously, I think it's pretty amazing that he keeps finding things to tweak. Things that LFL could have done themselves and that you'd think Lucas would be glad to pay for if it made the film look more current.

Just spent the past 6 hours or so playing Guitar Hero II with a friend. That was fun! He had played it before, so was a bit more used to the buttons. I had a tough time when the 4th and 5th buttons were introduced into songs on the medium to expert settings. We actually did ok playing co-op together on some of the expert songs. That was cool.

Ha! Yeah, he gave me a little good-natured ribbing about using "his" avatar when I first joined, but when I told him that, given all the options, I liked Bossk the most, he was cool with it. Of course, the second we are able to use our own avatars, I'll be changing mine, as will countless others, I'm sure.

Yup, mostly space shooters (which I love, but they're always hit-and-miss). Great info here, including info on new games: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dreamcast

I'm actually on my second DC now. The first one developed some weird power problem. Got a used one for $40 a while back with two controllers.

I love the system, but my biggest beef with it has always been the VMUs. Some games take a ridiculous amount of space on them. I have two cards right now, but I could always use a couple more! Any idea where I could get one at a reasonable price?

All-time favorite console: tie between PS2 and SNES, runner up is Dreamcast.

Currently playing: just started Skies of Arcadia (Dreamcast), and there a couple of others that I'm kinda/sorta going through (Front Mission 4, Mega Man X: Command Mission, Final Fantasy Tactics)

Biggest waste of money: Nintendo 64. Only ever bought two games for it (Mario 64 and StarFox 64), and it actually spent more time in other people's houses than my own, because I loaned it to people a lot. Oh well.

Favorite games: just about any Tetris game, GT2 and GT4, most Tony Hawk's Pro Skater games, Earthbound, StarFox & StarFox 64, Music Generator, Shadow of the Colossus, ICO, Katamari Damaci & We Love Katamari, Tourist Trophy, Final Fantasy VII & Tactics, Bomberman series, etc...

Most hated/pointless/frustrating games: Back to the Future II & III, Low G Man, and others I can't remember because they're not worth remembering.

Here are some bands and music styles I listen to a lot:

NES Cover bands: Minibosses, The Advantage, Xoc, Virt, Project X, etc...

Rock, etc...: Buckethead, Megadeth, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Huevos Rancheros, Dick Dale, The Ventures, Jason Becker, Dream Theater, The Hellecasters, Paul Gilbert, Racer X, Al Di Meola, John Williams' movie scores, Impellitteri, etc...

The overwhelming theme of most of the stuff I like is the guitar. I'd say that on a whole, my tastes are pretty eclectic.

You have lots of interesting stuff on the go, but I'd say of all of it, I'm definitely most interested in your Superman projects.

It's funny, growing up, I always liked the first Superman movie, but not as much as the second (because of Zod and the gang). That stupid expanding plastic logo...dealy (what should I call it?) was even cool. But now, I prefer the first overall. A hybrid version of II sounds right up my alley! As for the III and IV, I always felt IV was pretty meh, but I loved the robot stuff in III when I was younger. Now it just looks goofy. I still like the concept, though.

I just watched them and yes, quite a feat! Even if he did have some shortcuts to use, I know how little time there was from when you asked to when you received. Looks great, and a bit odd too, with those two guys looking at nothing now.

I would kinda like to see the wolfman in it, too, to keep it as original as possible. But as was said, not too many seem too worried about it. It would bring up a quality issue too, no? (i.e. laserdisc vs. DVD)

DE, are you going to compile a list of extra fixes made in the V2 and V3 versions somewhere? Maybe add them below the list in your original post? That would be great!

Certainly not! He has already gone back to it before, though. Nothing wrong with a bit of procrastination, of course, especially when the end result is an actual improvement. For that, we can all be very thankful. Plus, had Lucas actually done a truly great, possibly perfect restoration, these fun fan projects might not be out there to the extent they are.
