It is thoroughly enjoyable, keeps all of the good SE content while removing the dicey stuff (i.e. Jawa slapstick in Mos Eisley)... pretty much seemlessly edited... just great stuff. Thanks for the hard work DE.

Well said. I love the new stuff, like the Falcon manoeuvring, the realistic countdown clock (man, the original was just random nonsense, wasn't it? ), and smoothing out more jump cuts. Lots of impressive fixes!

Anyone here looking forward to John 5's next album? ("The Devil Knows My Name") I thought his first two were incredible. I didn't expect much, not being a Manson or Zombie fan, but his solo stuff is excellent. Goes far beyond the restraints put on him in a band situation. Plus, he has some amazing country chops!

Q: Death Star viewed from Endor
Time
A couple of days ago, I was watching Jedi and a question crossed my mind yet again. In the scene after Death Star II blows up and they see the cloud of debris in the sky on Endor, is there a reason why it appeared orangey red? Did they (LFL) think it through scientifically, or just pick that coloring because they thought it would be logical somehow?

I don't usually ask such a scientific question, but every time I watch, I think about that.

I'm watching it now. Thank you, thank you, a million times thank you!

I'm at the part where Luke just stormed out of the dining room and I wanted to mention something. One thing that has always bugged me is his line "I, uh, also thinking about our agreement..." It sounds like there's no audio of him adding the word "was" in there, not even quietly, with even the sound of the "s" at the end. Know what I mean? It has always sounded odd to me.

Yeah, I asked Jambe about getting it now, but I think I'm going to wait for an NTSC version. I can play PAL discs with my player, but they don't display properly through an NTSC television (quality is basically the same, but there are jaggedy outlines ), so I hope a conversion is made. Who will be handling that?

That depends how you define perfect... the PAL version has 25% more pixels (and go-faster stripes)

DE

Perfect as in, the jaggedy outlines that would show when I watch a PAL disc on my NTSC television won't be an issue. I have some region 2 discs, and though they look good, they're not displayed in the same quality as a region 1 disc is. If I had a PAL TV as well, then it would be true "perfection." Haha. Anyway, I'm sure you know what I'm on about.

My main objective in getting a region-free player was always to buy World Rally Championship discs from the UK, and I've been able to do that, so I'm really happy with it. Got The Catherine Tate Show, too.

P.S. Your "go-faster stripes" comment reminds me of Jeremy Clarkson, and also the fact that Top Gear is starting again soon! Can't wait!

Might i suggest altering the mail instructions on the 1st page just to clarify to folks that they should a blank disk along with a 'pre-paid' self addressed envilope inside for returning the disk. The last thing you need is to be swamped with disks in the mail and having to pay out to send them back to people.

Agreed.

Me too! Though I have a sneaking suspicion that they'll say "well how are we supposed to know how much it'll cost to send from England?" Haha.
