Yeah, you'd usually only send to one person after a while once most have theirs and someone comes in late. The only drawback I see to the way it's being done here is that basically, no one knows who's sending to who. Usually in a "DVD tree", everyone's username is shown on each 'branch' of the 'tree.' But this is a relatively small scale operation, so it shouldn't be a problem. ;)

Over at the Buckethead forum, they do DVD 'trees' a lot. (I usually just do straight trades, but I'm familiar with the tree way) Usually people will put down the names of all those participating, starting with the first people, and then the 'branches' that follow. I think since this is going to be smaller scale, just doing it by PM will be fine. I'm one of those on the first mailings, so when I get it, I'll let people know and they can PM me. No need to get ahead of ourselves yet.

Sounds like I've been on the right path, at least. ;) For large things, I always take them outside in a well lit area (but not overly bathed in sunlight) and although I don't have a tripod, I try and set the camera up on something to keep it steady. Then I use the macro setting if possible, or at least the highest quality setting for a regular shot. The results are decent, but I would like to try it with a better camera.

Ady, when the painting is finished, how are you going to scan it? Do you know what you are going to use? The techno geek in me is curious.....

Yeah, that's an interesting point. I have some large scale stuff too, and all I've been able to do is take a picture of it, which isn't as good.

Say, this is a bit off-topic, but I was just wondering if anyone knows why Carrie Fisher adopted a fake accent during her part with Tarkin. It was obviously a conscious decision (if it wasn't, they would've told her to cut it out, no?), so why was it done?
I remember reading in one of the SW "making of" books that she attended acting school in London, so she sometimes had a bit of a British accent when acting.

Interesting! Boy, that sure went out the window when she yelled "into the garbage chute, flyboy!" :D

Just shows the lack of care and attention in the script. (Like Harrison said!!)

Did he? When/what was that, exactly? (or as best as you can remember the circumstances)

C'mon man.. surely everyone knows the "George, you can WRITE this s**t, but you sure as hell can't 'say' it!" story??

Yes, I just forgot. Sorry.

Interesting info, Mielr. I had to explain the whole car accident thing to my mother before, but I didn't know those details. She would say something like "he was cute in the first one, but looks so different in ESB and ROTJ. What happened?" I told her what I knew; car accident, face damaged. Now I can give her another detail about it.

I'm finally going to be able to have my first showing of Revisited. I've watched it a few times by myself, but I'll be able to show it to one of my friends this Friday. He's pumped!

That sounds nice. Always funt o share the excitement. Star Wars is my mother's favorite movie and I'm still trying to find a time when we can watch it together. I think she's gonna be really impressed.

I was thinking earlier as to what my favorite Star Wars moment was in 2007 and I remembered: Conan O'Brien at Skywalker Ranch. That was hilarious! :D

And I also thought that they'd at LEAST play the SE trilogy in the theaters... They probably would've taken a loss, though, because of saggy DVD sales.

This is more than we got from Lucas for the 30th!

Yeah... Did anyone else feel that the whole 30th anniversary just sort of came and went? A couple of TV ads here and there, but not much more, that I saw. Maybe it's because I've been burned by hype so much and had such low expectations of anything LFL does anymore.

Here's my history of Prequel hype:

- Episode I: Huge excitement! I collected the Coke cans, taped everything on TV I could...then I saw the movie. I found the story to be very convoluted and Jar Jar was an idiot. That movie brought my exthusiasm for Star Wars in general down dozens of notches.
- Episode II: Slight excitement and hope that it would be much better than Episode I. I did enjoy it much more, but it's still far from my favorite movie, and second last on the list of favorite Star Wars movies.
- Episode III: Slight interest in seeing Obi-Wan and Vader fight in the lava pits. That's about it. Felt it would be better than the previous two, and I feel it was. Blows TPM out of the water and is a bit better than AotC. Most interest came in seeing the troopers and other designs get closer to the classic designs.

Then at some point, I discovered fan editing and all the wonderful things they've done in restoring the classics and my love of the trilogy, too. :) And the only official thing that I've enjoyed lately is Lego Star Wars. That's great fun.

I am in the UK, if anyone can help me get a copy of the purist DVD and soundtrack CD (by PIF or any other means) I will be eternally gratefull. I have tried to figure out newsgroups with no success so your generosity is my only hope. Many thanks.

Just so you know, the soundtracks are available via simple download at megaupload.com. Just check out the last couple of pages and you'll find links to the FLAC and 320kbps mp3 downloads in posts made by Adywan.

Yeah, there's going to be a bit of a lull, especially since the suggestions have been made here and in another thread specifically for ESB and ROTJ suggestions.

Good ol' Lando. (I should say Billy Dee) He's in my mother's "top 10." Heh. My favorite Lando moment is probably "It's not my fault!"
