STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW

Yeah, it's funny how that works sometimes. They do the prequels so many years later and the technology of the past suddenly looks way in advance of the stuff that will eventually replace it. :p Same with Star Trek: TOS and Enterprise. They throw in some old school touches, but if you make an entire series look the same as it did in the 60's, it couldn't really be taken seriously. Regarding things like the cassette deck, they'd say "oh, those ships are so old and worn, the panels that covered that stuff fell off long ago." ;)

A nice fair-handed review there, -1. :) As you correctly said, this was never meant to replace the original (that Lucas is sorry so many of us fell in love with...*shaking fist*) and never will. It's just a fun and extremely impressive and lovingly crafted take on the movie. It will never be for everyone, but even the hardest of the hardcore have to be impressed by much of the content, even if it's just the ridiculous amount of color correction.

Ouch... It's too bad there isn't a button you could press called "perfect color" or something like that. ;) That one screenshot you've posted shows an amazing difference already. I'd like to see a comparison with one of these green and/or red tinted shots you've mentioned. Oy!

Hope you don't get too bogged down or stressed with this. Perhaps move to Amish country for a couple of months if that would help. Heh.

You'll have to check out his last reply, Amras. There will be a break, hopefully, for the sake of his health and family. Heh.

Edit: just saw your edit, Amras. Ha!

And looky there! The Death Star on Hoth. Can you put racing stripes on it? I feel that would be pretty sharp.

Are you referring to this statement Ady made? "Like i have said before ESB, pre SE, is perfect the way it is. It will be mainly cosmetic changes i will be doing to this film."

Adding the DSII would be highly un-cosmetic. (unless after the credits doesn't count, of course. Heh heh.)

I'm still waiting [patiently, mind you ;)] for my copy of the Purist Edition to PIF. Haha. Once I get it, no one's gonna care cuz it's so easy to get now. Despite that, I haven't downloaded it either. Ah well... It'll probably be the same deal with the DVD-9, I suspect. I fully intend to PIF both of them, but by the time I get them, I dunno how much interest there will be in sending them through the mail.

Speaking of subtitle tracks, here's one that stumped me:

"Unlock 1, 5, 7 and 9. Release charge."

Shouldn't that 'chocks'? As in, something that keeps something else in place? Know what I mean? I looked at a script at blueharvest.net and they say 'charges.' (it doesn't even sound like the guys is saying the plural) I don't know what to believe, especially as we're talking about internet spelling and all that implies. Haha.

I'm just curious, is all. ;)

48 hours of work for them and up to 10 DAYS of slowness for you? How does that make any sense? You should at least try and get a refund for the period where you have such slowness, especially since it's entirely their problem. I always get refunds for satellite problems that way. (not that it happens a lot, but still)

I'm of the opinion that DSII should stay in RotJ only. If we spend all this time referencing future events, we'll be just as bad as Lucas.

Yeah, on a sorta related note, I kinda like it when things like that are left alone. Boba Fett's mystery, for example. Another non-Star Wars related one is the episode of "Deep Space Nine" where they go back to the original Star Trek. That scene where the guys are in the bar and see a Klingon. They're like 'THAT's a Klingon? What happened?' And Worf simply says something like 'we do not discuss that with outsiders.' And that's all we ever needed. But then "Enterprise" made their own explanation and took the fun away from Worf's statement. B'oh!
