The "Darth Editous / ADigitalMan Hybrid Edition" Info and Feedback Thread (Released)
Time
As long as I've known about this project, and as much as I love DE's version, I still haven't seen this one! :P Doesn't seem to be torrented anywhere anymore, either.

If it is available anywhere, please let us know! If not, if anyone is willing to help me get a copy, please PM me. I love to do trades, so we may be able to help each other out. :)

[<( The Star Wars TV Commercials Project )>] (* unfinished project * - a host of info)
Time
I just found this thread and it's quite an interesting project! Is work still being done on it?

I have an old tape where I recorded anything and everything from around the time of TPM, including all the commercials I could. I'd be willing to share it. The best piece on it is from some Entertainment Tonight-type show (I forget which) and they talk to a guy who's selling bootlegs of TPM. Apparently you're allowed to actually sell a small amount of them. (I think it was any amount not exceeding $500?) He had them right in the open spread out on the sidewalk. Nuts! They went into some pawn shop and there was a guy making copies with a bunch of VCRs, too. Probably the supplier. Heh. I'll have to watch it again. It was quite interesting. Would've fit in perfectly with the Hype disc that was made.

Over in Darth Editous' ESB thread (or was it his ANH thread?), someone posted a clip of McDiarmid's lines, but changed the 'yes' a bit to match the old audio. The first was stretched a bit, I think. Though it messed up the music in the background, it sounded pretty good. :) It also added in that second yes, of course.

I've just watched the video you posted and my favorite part was that 3P0 wasn't green! Blimey, what a mess...

As for recording McDiarmid soundalikes, I would suggest that people perform all his lines from that scene, not just one word. They would just substitute 'young' with 'Luke'. That way, you can hear some flowing words and pick who sounds best overall.

Not get too much on the ROTJ one, but if the Jabba Palace number is gonna be removed, is Oola's fall into the pit gonna be shown?

Good question. I don't think the scene was needed, per se, but how cool was it that she reprised the role after so many years? :) As far as SE additions go, that one never bothered me.

The MSN idea is a good one if Ady is willing. That's one thing I kinda wished I'd been in on when I read about the first one. I downloaded the transcript of it, too.

Yes, that's one change we're all looking forward to. :D I know it was either remove the sand grain or push the release back a month with the last one. I think he made the right choice then, but he has plenty of time to get to the snow issue now.

Edit: Ok, I've seen Ady's response. I'm torn on the issue...

The whole issue of fanediting and LFL is so odd. One minute, they're picking on certain people, then the next, it's "do whatever you want." They even got YouTube to reinstate a ton of spoofs, apparently and said it was cool that people were doing their own stuff. I guess it's more of an issue when the entire movie is involved.

Man, I just recently rewatched my copy of from Star Wars to Jedi... such memories. I used to watch that thing all the time, back even before we had the films on tape.

I got my copy around the time of the SE releases via an order form on a cereal box. Didn't know it existed before then. I really love that special. :)

Maybe I shouldn't have used the word "dead" before, but I do hope it's not "dead" as far as us fans ever seeing it. They're doing some amazing work and I know we'd all love to see it someday. To that end, I'd love to hear my question of months ago seriously answered. (the issue of it being seen by fellow fans or not, which I couldn't really find a solid answer to)

Would we be so hot to remove Jabba from ANH if he was there in '77?

I sometimes wish we had pristine footage of the scenes with Declan Mulholland. (now there's a figure they need to make!...though I'm sure George would like us all to forget Declan's scene even exists.) The thing I find odd about that whole thing is, if they were planning to superimpose a creature over him, why did they have him dressed up in crazy pirate gear? He could've done the scene in a t-shirt and jeans. Or were they just superimposing a different head on him? I know the Jabba in the comic was more humanoid, too.

These are all things I may have known at one time, but forgot about during the .

+dark ages. (1999-2005 or so for me)

P.S. I left that weirdness above to show what happened after I spilled a bunch of pickle juice into my keyboard. Haha. I just let it drain out and am using it again.

Yes, thanks for the link Moth3r. (moth rear? Haha) Excellent thread. I think the things that jumped out at me most in it were the "lost in the snow" shots. Those screencaps from the 2004 SE DVD are disgusting! How could a man so obsessed with tinkering with his movies release something that looks that terrible?! Was there some kind of crazy rush to get them done? It's so sad to think that a huge company like Lowry Digital - and by association, Lucasfilm - couldn't do something that guys are doing in their living rooms.
