There's only so much anyone can do with existing footage.  I find the saber battles in the OT to be JUST FINE

Same here. I like all of the saber battles in different ways, and the one in ESB is just perfect to me. It has always been my favorite one. It's the little things about it, really, including the atmosphere and coloring of the set, the distance they travel in their battle, Vader popping up out of nowhere, the tip of the blade inches away from Luke's face... Just awesome! :D

At the risk of wandering off topic, just this once.

Backstroke Of The West:R would make entertaining viewing. Just take a nice print of ROTS and get some voice actors (if they could keep a straight face) to re-dub the lines from the BOTW subtitles.

If only we could get the original actors in to do it.

That sounds like fun. In the meantime, someone could just use a good print and add the crazy subtitles to it, either forced or selectable. Wouldn't be much of an edit, really, but at least it could be watched with good quality and proper framing.

Is there a way to make the film shake?  Is that included in the scripts you're currently using?  I think that could help a little.

The plugin I use can make the film shake, but I can't find a way to adjust it (it's too shaky for my taste, and it don't works on Premier Pro though). So I made a black an white video of the dust, noise, brightness vibration and vertical lines from that plugin and use it as an alpha layer on Premiere Pro. So the result does not shake at all. However, I think it could be cool to find a way to have some shake, but not during all the movie.

Yeah, or instead of shaking, once in a while you could make the picture roll up a bit, then drop back down suddenly. Know what I mean? Like, the movie still plays, but the picture suddenly crawls up an inch or two, then drops back down to normal after a few seconds. Anyway, keep up the good work. :)

That audio clip is very good! I wouldn't do much more with that. It's mono and it has a consistent crackle to it. (which shows up a lot when it gets quiet, which is nice) To do much more could get into 'overboard' territory. ;) Maybe a bit of a 'playing inside a tin can' effect, but not much more.

Has any thought been given to the music in the next version? Will it be the same quality, or will you use some sort of dirty mono version, maybe? Or if there's enough room, maybe add both tracks and make them selectable? Hmm?! :p

I think it could be fun, but ,as Ringo said, one of the purpose of the edit is to enjoy Williams score. So the "dirty mono" should indeed be available as an alternate selectable audio mix. I will try to find time to work on making the sound old. I still don't know how.

Well, switching it to mono should be easy enough, then I know that in Nero WaveEditor (and probably other programs), there is a filter called "radio" that gives it that tinny, scratchy, inside-a-tunnel sound. Or maybe something like a single speaker phonograph or projector sound. Might want to play around with something like that.

I'm just about finished all the technical stuff. I figured out the music I want to use, and I've figured out how to convert the files I want, I'm just not sure about the space on my harddrive and I don't wanna gamble my time here, so I'll be getting a new hardrive soon. Probably this one:

http://www.costco.ca/Browse/Product.aspx?Prodid=10317181&search=external%20hard%20drive&Mo=1&cm_re=1_en-_-Top_Left_Nav-_-Top_search⟨=en-CA&Nr=P_CatalogName:BCCA&Sp=S&N=0&whse=BCCA&Dx=mode+matchallpartial&Ntk=Text_Search&Dr=P_CatalogName:BCCA&Ne=4000000&D=external%20hard%20drive&Ntt=external%20hard%20drive&No=1&Ntx=mode+matchallpartial&Nty=1&topnav=&s=1

I have a paycheck due next week, if it's over 200 than I'll buy this. If not, I'll have to wait another two weeks. Expect the teaser trailer to debut this winter as promised!

I notice that's Costco.ca, meaning Canada, meaning maybe you're Canadian? Anywho, Future Shop has a 1 TB external for $149.99 this week, if that interests you. They also have a 640 GB for $109.99, so it's a little bit less than the one at Costco for the same capacity.

I'll be getting the redone ones for sure, whatever that's worth. I have the originals and I am slightly biased, of course

To be perfectly honest, the next version is what I was always hoping this project would be, looks-wise. ;)

People just accepted weird inking back then because they had no choice. (Han's blaster is hot pink, for Pete's dragon!) Nowadays, that would be unacceptable. Haha. :p

I must say that the coolest Star Wars toys I've seen lately are action figures that are adaptations of the comic and concept art versions, complete with wildly inaccurate coloring! :D I'd like to get one of that scary looking Chewbacca.
