I don't doubt that Max inspired IG.

I didn't say that. All I said is that they remind me of each other. ;)

I know.  All I'm saying is that I think that Joe Johnston or whoever did that sketch may have had Max on the brain.  The timing was about right - when Black Hole was being promoted and coming out, Empire was still in production.

Ohhh, I see. :) I think out of the IG-88 production sketch, the final product and Max, I like Max best overall. I like the legs on him, whereas I find the final IG-88 looks really...clumsy. (the feet look particularly awkward) There are bits of him I like, but overall, he looks like he was made out of a bunch of junk.

But then what is a slave boy doing building a protocol droid for his mother on a desert planet when she'd be better of with an ice-cream maker?

It may have cost too much to have an ice cream machine imported from Cloud City. Besides, maybe she really had a hankerin' for a prissy droid that spoke a ridiculous amount of languages. That would be really useful for a stay at home mom that did...I dunno, dirt sweeping all day? Milking blue cows?

How about one new still from Revisited per month? Pretty please? It would get us something to look forward to every 4 weeks, and have it about the same date every month, that would just be 12 more stills over the next year, obviously. Please and thank you! :)

I like this idea better than seeing more clips. I'd like to save the rest for the actual viewing experience when ESB:R is finally done and released!

I kinda like it and kinda don't. I agree that we've seen enough "new stuff," so all that's left is color-correction screenshots. Nothing wrong with that, but I wouldn't want him to go out of his way for that.

I guess Star Wars is bad for the back because I too have had problems.

I can be bad for TVs as well. I was once playing The Empire Strikes Back for the NES on my old 13" (or so) black and white Sony. I believe I was ont he snowspeeder level when I started to smell something funny. Then I heard crackling and the screen when dead, accompanied by a bunch of white smoke. Oh well... :p

If the Empire aren't bad enough to shoot a few people (even men with Ice Cream makers) while taking over an illegal mining operation after the administrator and his security staff has just helped their commander lose his Emperor's prize (not to mention that feisty Rebel Princess again) then why are the Rebels fighting them at all?

To be honest, I'm pretty much just thinking that the scene could get a little too busy, and I also think of the motivation. :p I know the Empire likes to flex its muscles, they put the city on lockdown, and Lando says 'leave if you can,' but I still see the scenes playing out like they're there for Luke, then split. I could see them blowing up Cloud City after the Falcon gets away, because Vader is so angry, but before, when they're all concentrated on Luke and the gang, I don't see them purposefully going after random people, even if they're criminals in some way.

Anyway, this is old hat, innit? :p

I can't believe that it sparked a debate about adding the empire attacking bespin though. I'm pretty suure this was covered a while ago. ... We do see that TIEs appear when the falcon is escaping and lando does mention the fighters when Leia want to go back for Luke, and having  some background TIEs shooting down ships may well take the focus of the main action.

Agreed. (again) As far as I see it, the scenes are fine as they are. As bad as the Empire is, would they be taking potshots at innocent people when Vader has a mission to focus on?* Even the most hardened TIE pilot would think 'why am I murdering Ice Cream Man?' They are there for one reason: Luke. That's it. Land, get him, leave.

Sorry to hear about your back. I have been dealing with some sort of soreness here and there in my back nearly every day for the past several months, but nothing like you're going through, it seems. Hope it improves somehow, someday. :)

*besides, the first movie showed us that the Empire likes to preserve lasers when possible

we don't want to be associated with them at all.

"We" don't? There are some great things there. Sure, they're not all winners, but the massive amount of Star Wars projects alone makes it a very worthwhile site. And the awards stuff is just for fun. I haven't noticed anyone let an award get to their head there.

Just my opinion, which is obviously very different from yours in this regard. :p

And, of course, a LOT of people have discovered the Revisited project because of that site, which still proudly promotes it all the time.

I still think the hover board looks total wank!!

This is a thread about The Empire Strikes Back, not Back to the Future II. ;)

As Sev, yes, the CG Yoda is far, far better than the TPM puppet. I think the best thing they did with the CG is add the ear shakes. But still, the problem I see in the CG is that it's still too smooth somehow. The natural jerkiness of movement is still hit-and-miss.

He does say the line quickly, but to be fair, he is holding up the ring right in front of his commander's face, innit? I do like your suggestions (and adding the odd radio drama line here and there is cool) but I'm fine with it either way. Not that that matters. Haha.

CA, how do you feel about the insertion of radio drama lines?

It's just hard to stay on-topic during such a lull. And if no one says anything, a certain member will start saying "dead thread." ;)

I was thinking about General Veers* and why he seems to be more popular than other officers. I think it's partly because he seems a bit detached from the rest. He isn't around when they're glaring at each other and getting choked and such. He is played as a more confident character (but not foolishly brazen like Motti), and I believe he even got his own story in one of the Tales books, right?

*Maybe because we keep veering off-topic? *ba dum bum!*
