"FACES" (Released)

This way, even if the video calibration kicks in, it won't put the warning in the video stream. Hopefully, there's something similar in your JVC, DJ.

I was just about to post the same thing! I had a JVC that did this also. In the setup menu there should definitely be a way to set it to not display this every time it "corrects" the picture.

Idea: a preservation of Hardware Wars SE?
Time
I have the DVD plus the SE VHS. I've been meaning to transfer it to DVD, just haven't gotten around to it. Maybe I can get it done this week. I remember watching this when it originally aired on Showtime in the 70's! Showtime used to air small films called "Showtime Shorts" in between movies. They showed this thing a million times that summer!

PS... Another notworthy fan film is George Lucas in Love. Very funny!! Also available on DVD in widescreen or full screen.

~~~Segaflip's Newsgroup Posting List~~~
I just purchased the following dvd:
http://i6.ebayimg.com/01/i/05/7d/b3/ef_1.JPG
I'd be willing to PIF. There are several other dvd's listed on OT.com that I'm looking for. I'd like to trade copies if possible. Also, I'll be picking up these original print dvd's:
** I also have original copies of TROOPS (Total Movie Magazine), Hardware Wars, and George Lucas in Love. I don't have the bandwidth available to download the discs that I'm looking for, so I'd hope to trade. Drop me an email if interested.
Star Wars DVD Covers
Yes, there are similar covers out there. When making these, I wanted to work with the FACES covers, but didn't like the colors used for the original art (Blue for SW, Purple for ESB, and Pink for ROTJ) so I decided to rework the original covers with a matching GOLD logo and matching spines. The back covers were a cross between some previous covers found online and blending in original hi-res pictures. I wanted to leave these as simple as possible to accomodate the various OOT projects that are out there, as well as accomodating my current Definitive Laserdisc project that I'm working on, which eventually you guys will one day see! :-)
'Eddie Murphy: Delirious' preservation? (Released)
It's a shame he's turned his back on the personality/humor that made him so famous to begin with. I miss the Eddie Murphy of 48 Hours and Beverly Hills Cop and his brief run on SNL.
If this is true, that's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard! This is what put Eddie Murphy on the map!! Every Eddie Murphy fan that I know are fans because of things like Delirious, 48 Hours, Trading Places, B.H. Cop, etc., not movies like Daddy Daycare, Haunted Mansion, etc.
I'm sure that we'll see it on dvd sooner or later......
'Eddie Murphy: Delirious' preservation? (Released)
Time
Yeah.. I have no idea why they haven't released it on DVD??!! I thought when they released RAW on dvd, they'd release it then, not sure why they didn't. BTW... I went to see Eddie Murphy when he was doing the RAW tour (in Richmond, VA). It was soooo freakin' funny! The Richmond concert was MUCH better than the actual recorded concert!!
BTW... I also have the Best of Eddie Murphy on LD. They did release a "best of" Eddie Murphy on DVD, but it's not the same as the Laserdisc/VHS release. Most of the skits were the same, but there are some different skits that are not on the DVD release.
Star Wars DVD Covers
Has anyone seen these custom boxes before? They are made out of metal with laser-etched artwork. These look really nice!
http://www.designpaulchampagne.com/images/cases/SWcollection1.jpg
This is meant to hold all 7 SW dvd's (6 movies plus bonus features dvd)
http://www.designpaulchampagne.com/images/cases/SWcollection2.jpg
Here's another set that holds the 7 dvd's.
http://www.designpaulchampagne.com/images/cases/SWSaga.jpg
This is a set of four cases that line up to form a single image. The four cases are:
1)The Original Trilogy case can hold up to 8 of the myriad bootleg DVDs (in 4 double Amaray) that are out there for the OT, which include different transfers of the films with different special features, the classic documentaries, etc.
2)The Prequels Trilogy, will hold the three 2-DVD sets (once ROTS comes out), plus a custom 2-DVD case designed to hold the "Clone Wars" series (once both of those discs come out).
3)The Special Edition Trilogy, is for the official release -- Episodes IV-VI, plus the Bonus Material DVD.
4)The Saga Continues case can house the Ewok movies, the Ewok and Droids animated specials, R2-D2 Beneath The Dome, etc.
These boxes are quite pricey. I plan on getting the set of four cases soon. Here's a link if you want to see where to get them: DVD Cases
As much as it pains me to say, this is sadly the case.
You know what? I had a mate who still hasn't watched any of his 2004 DVDs, and when I told him that Hayden's ghost replaced *ANAKIN'S REAL GHOST* at the end of ROTJ, he didn't believe me! So I told him to watch them, and boy was he pissed! Then I told him about the Temeura Morrison overdub on ESB, and he got even more pissed! Then I told him to act on his anger and sign the petition! It was hilarious, yet sad. I wonder how many other ppl haven't watched their DVDs yet...
I bought the DVD's the day they came out and I've yet to watch them!
who hates george lucas
Time
Hate is a strong word. I don't hate him. I do hate what he's done to the SW franchise though. I was 7 when the first SW came out in '77 and have been a huge fan ever since! I have a 15'x10' storage unit completely filled mostly of SW collectibles that I've collected over the years. When it was finally announced that the new SW films were finally being made after all these years I was ecstatic. I never expected the original trilogy to be surpassed, but I do think the Prequels could've been much better! In my opinion they were very disappointing (with HORRIBLE writing, dialog, and even worse acting!). I walked away from Phantom Menace bored and utterly dissatisfied. Ep II was an improvement, but still had bad dialog and bad acting. Ep III was an improvement over the previous two films, but still disappointing! Yes, the effects are nice (for the most part), but that alone doesn't make a movie! If George had used someone to re-write the dialog and allowed someone else to do the casting we could've had a much better and satisfying Prequel Trilogy. I'm sure that are many that will argue with me and think I'm an idiot for writing this, but it's my opinion and I'm sticking to it.
I kind of figured that's what you were getting at, just didn't know what it stood for. You can definitely count me in if others are interested! If I can get a copy of these, I'll burn multiples and ship them out, and so on, and so on!
