I recall reading that the masters for the film version of Lapti Nek and other Max Rebo source music were simply lost and hence they weren't included on the Anthology Boxed Set CD. I doubt this is the case, but I don't know why it wouldn't be released otherwise on the Anthology Boxed Set. So if Lapti Nek is featured in the Isomix DVD, then it probably is indeed the version from the Anthology Boxed Set and not the original film version. The only person who may know of a copy of the film version would be Neil S. Bulk. Neil is our resident expert on Lapti Nek and Yub Nub. Neil, you listening?

By the way, the film version AND the album version of Yub Nub (er, "Ewok Celebration") are both available on the Anthology Boxed Set.

Yeah, by having the Anthology boxed set, I was familiar with the album version of "Lapti Nek", which I find very much inferior to the film version. It always bugged me.

I actually have a "dance mix" of Yub Nub by Meco Mornado released on a single at some point. It was a DVD-ROM feature on one of Rikter's DVDs, one of his editions of the Holiday Special. It's really... umm... bad.

So do you think the ISOMIX set has better video than the others? If not, which do you think has?

I didn't say I thought it had better video, but I do think it has a good picture, one I'd be able to live with if I had to. Hell, I bought the original "LOOK" DVDs from a comicon in... 2001? 2000? I can't quite recall. Either way, almost anything is a great step up from that set. I can't really compare it to other current sets, since the only other set I have at the moment is the Dr Gonzo set. To me, Dr G definitely has the edge on the ISOMIX picture, but I doubt any of them are going to hold up for long with this whole X0 project thing (very exciting).

I really love this set. The image quality is by no means bad and the isolated scores are nearly flawless. My only complaint is that, in Jedi, the film version of "Lapti Nek" and the barge music weren't in the isolated score track, and those were the two selections I was most looking forward to. I'm almost positive that the film version of "Lapti Nek" was released somewhere along the line, pretty unsure about the barge music.

You can still help if you finished it a while ago.

If you've deleted it from your computer, simply re-import the files from your DVD back onto your harddrive. If all the DVD-Rom stuff is still there, it should work fine. Make a folder called "ISOMIX - Jedi", then make another folder inside that also called "ISOMIX - Jedi". Then drag the files from the DVD-R into the second folder.

Then go to MySpleen, download the torrent file select the first directory as the download folder. It should recognize the file structure as the same and begin seeding.

Was that confusing at all?

Missing music from [the 1997 and 2004 soundtrack releases] of Return of the Jedi:

• Lapti Nek (film version)
• Lapti Nek (English version, "Fancy Man")
• Lapti Nek (album version)* (2:48)
• Leia's News (alternate)* (1:19)
• Ewok Celebration (film version)* (1:56)
• Ewok Celebration (album version)* (1:56)
• Jabba the Hutt (concert arrangement)**
• Max Rebo Band Instrumental Music (3:00)***
• Unused Source Music (not in film) (1:30)***

* are included on the 1993 box set
** About (1:20) of this piece was tracked into "Han Solo Returns" on the old album and box-set.
*** These selections were not included because they could not be found.

I assume Max Rebo Band Instrumental Music is the Sail Barge song. I guess the "could not be found" means the record label coulden't obtain the original master tape. I wounder how the site knows it was 3:00 long? And what's that Unused Source Music track about?

Question: Does anyone have the film version and english version of Lapti Nek? I'd really really love to get my hands on copies of those, even as MP3s. If anyone wants it, I've got an MP3 of Meco Mornado's "dance version" of Ewok Celebration.

Now then, I've downloaded a LOT of Star Wars torrents from myspleen (55 or so gigs down vs. 25 or so gigs up) and it's time for me to really give back. I will keep sharing the ISOMIX trilogy, the TR47 trilogy, and the extras DVD all on unlimited upload. I've been greedy with my downloads since I joined myspleen last month...time for me to share so the other fans can get all of the wonderful Star Wars stuff that I've downloaded.

Thanks for the seed! One question, though:

Is your download of Empire really complete? Because the info page for the torrent on MySpleen says that you've got 99.68% of it, but I know BitTorrent has been known to be picky about these sorts of things.

EDIT: Nevermind, it seems to have stopped being retarded.

Thanks a lot! It seems that sometime between last night and now, there was a power flux or some such thing back at my house and it knocked out my connection. I finished SW, with Empire and Jedi still a ways to go. Like I said, I'll be back home on Monday when I'll be able to re-open the downloads, but I don't know if you're still going to have them seeded then or not. Either way, thanks for seeding for the time that you did.

BTW, my name over on MySpleen is "facehead". My typical username wouldn't fit.

more info on it?

Don't you wish one of the "elites" would break protocol and torrent this for the masses ?
Shirley surely the "statute of limitations" has expired by now....

Thanks, but I'm well aware of the Deleted Magic project and I'm really looking forward to its final release. I was talking about the DVD of the pre-ANH version of Star Wars he was referring to.

Thank you for seeding the Isomix trilogy. I'm out of town right now, but I left my home computer on, downloading those torrents while I'm away, and it still doesn't seem like Empire and Jedi will finish by the time I get back on Monday. I'm home from college on break, and when I'm home are the only opportunitues I get to download big torrent files (college server blocking p2p progs), so I'm trying to make the most of it. Can't wait to tackle the surprise torrent when I get back...

Info Wanted: a Pre-ANH edit of Ep IV?
Time

Hello all,

I’m new to this wonderful world of preserving the OOT as best as possible and am immersing myself in it as much as possible. One of the things I’ve been aware of for a long time is the existence of differences between the initial theatrical version of SW and subsequent releases, most of them lying in the soundtrack. My plan was to re-edit the original opening crawl of the film into a rip of one of the sets floating around (either Dr Gonzo’s or TR47’s set) and replace the soundtrack with the one I am going to rip from a VHS of a tecline transfer of the original theatrical SW. It has recently come to my attention that other people (MagnoliaFan, for instance) may be doing something exactly like this and I just want to know if I should stop and let the more experienced do their thing or try my hand at this.
