The ones I posted are from the second version of the EditDroid DVD. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that the original EditDroid SW disc is totally different from the one floating around right now, including the transfer and the menus.

BTW, Belbucus, I think there's a lot of us here who would LOVE to see that DVD you have, regardless of whether or not it actually is the original EditDroid disc (which I think it is).

Thought on de-SE'ing the DVD
Time
I don't know if anyone realized this, but apparently the Game Cube SW game "Rebel Strike" has the original ewok celebration from the end of Jedi in full-on DVD quality. I've never seen it for myself, but just today, I remembered reading this article on Ain't It Cool News over a year and a half ago. Funny how the brain works that way, eh? Anyway, I don't know if there's a way to rip this video off the little Game Cube disc or anything, but I thought it was worth a mention.

The "EditDroid" Trilogy DVD Info and Feedback Thread (Released)

Yes, my discs did the same thing. Did you get Rik's copies? If so, that may have something to do with it, somehow. He also forgot to copy the DVD-ROM content with Jedi

Also, I edited the post name so that this is now the EditDroid feedback thread. I'll take that last part out in a few days, after it sinks in that it's the same thread.

I believe I can answer at least some of your questions. Someone else please correct me if I get anything wrong.

Is Laserman involved with that DVD project, his own separate project, or did he just get the capture for them to work on? Basically, I'm a bit confused as to whether "XO Project" refers to one or more nascent versions. Oh, and this X0 capture is from the "Faces" discs, right? Are these (or this?) project(s) going to be anamorphic? Dual layered?

The "X0 Project" refers to the utilization of the raw X0 capture that Laserman made. I'm pretty sure that it's from the "Faces" set. Zion's version will be anamorphic and dual-layered. I believe that MeBe's will at least dual-layered, not sure about anamorphic. MeBe is also working on an edition to compile 8(?) seperate audio tracks, for at least ANH. The other two will have fewer, as there have been fewer audio changes over the years.

- This "Editdroid" set, is also known as the "Mysterious Mysteries" set I gather from your website. It also appears to be letterboxed, not anamorphic. Is this set Dual Layered? Does it have the Pre-ANH audio dub? You say the picture is on par with TR47's first set, how does the audio compare? Which set of Laserdiscs is this set from? Who would I talk to about obtaining a copy of this set?

You are correct, the set is letterbox and not anamorphic. It is single-layered. There were two versions of the ANH disc: One with the mono mix audio of the film and one with an isolated score track instead. I believe there were different captures of the film for the two versions as well, the second ("revised") version with the score track being superior. Rik has copies of the whole set and the first two have been seeded as torrents on MySpleen. I couldn't tell you about the audio, as my sound setup is terrible (can't ask for much when you're a colelge student living away from home). Someone else will have to answer that one.

- The Cowclops/TR47 #2 version, will it be dual layered? Anamorphic? Is it all 3 films? Is it from the Definitive Collection Discs or the "Faces" discs?

It will not be dual-layered and I believe it isn't anamorphic. Not sure about which set it comes from.

Again, if I fudged any info, just reply and correct me.

Since it was a made with the intention of being a telefilm, later being released theatrically overseas, it was most likely shot open matte. Shooting open matte would expose the entire frame, giving the film the proper television aspect ratio. For the overseas prints, the top and bottom of the image were most likely cropped from the original image.
