Info Wanted: on custom DVD Menus
Time
If you really wanted to pilfer static menus from other DVDs for your own, it's entirely possible in DVD-lab. Well, pretty much. If you take a cap of the menu you want, drop it in as an image on a blank menu you're working on, you can create shapes around certain areas of the image where the selections would be. This will make an opaque shape. Set that shape to be white and then, under the "Transparency" selection, click the left arrow once and that will make the shape clear.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that Garrett has asked that this not be torrented right now.

You must not have read my post completely - he said do it > read below

I've done my big mail-outs of Deleted Magic, and I'm satisfied with the numbers of real printed DM DVDs floating around now ... if anyone wants to torrent it, go ahead.

Ah yes, it seems that I have been corrected

The "EditDroid" Trilogy DVD Info and Feedback Thread (Released)

DVD Decryptor rips nice disc images, which is the only reason why I use it now. Occasionally, when I only want a particular part of a commercial disc (i.e. the exclusive bonus feature on the American edition of the Shaun of the Dead DVD), I'll use DVD Decrypter to grab to so I can encode it to AVI using AutoGordionKnot.

And now ReverendBeastly who started the thread (and sent the copy to Rikter for distribution ???)
boasts of having never burned a disc compliant with the DVD-Video standard.

Quality control indeed !

And Rikter is trying to find the missing JACKET_P and DVD-ROM contents.

Generational issues indeed !
O the irony....

Maybe I should clarify what I meant. I have never burned a DVD that I authored in any other manner than just burning a data DVD with the folders. Any time I am copying a single-layer DVD, I always rip a disc image rather than copying the files and folders. I would also like to point out that Rikter was never trying to find the JACKET_P and DVD-ROM contents of A New Hope, as they were included on the disc that I sent him. The DVD-ROM content was included in his torrent and the JACKET_P folder was available as a .rar file after he realized that he forgot to include it in the torrent. I had no hand in the distribution of ESB and ROTJ, so I can't speak for the missing contents on those, but I can tell you that the disc I sent Rik was practically a carbon copy of the disc I was sent.

Now someone get him to do an extended version of "TWIN PEAKS: FIRE WALK WITH ME" please!

He wanted to put about an hour of deleted scenes on the DVD, but neither New Line or the French company MK2 (who owns the rights to the scenes, for some reason) wanted to pay to have them restored how he wanted. I think MK2 was rumored to be doing another version sometime in the future with the scenes.

That's because Jay isn't really a mod, he's the administrator. Zion is now a (the) mod, and I'm almost positive it was him who booted him. We don't need his kind of scum.

You guys may want to re-think your plans for this. From The Digital Bits:

We've done some digging with our sources at Universal, and we've learned the real reason behind their delay of the Dune: Extended Edition (previously announced for 5/10, but then pulled "indefinitely" with no explanation given). Those of you who are familiar with the film know that there's a longer version that's been shown on TV, credited to director Alan Smithee (a pseudonym used by directors when they want to distance themselves from a project for whatever reason). Well get this... after years of saying he would never revisit Dune, at the 11th hour director David Lynch decided that he wanted to be involved in the new DVD after all. Which means that when it's eventually released, not only is the DVD going to include the original theatrical version of the film... it will include a brand new "director's extended cut" edited by Lynch himself! No kidding.
