I'm not sure about this one, though. Warwick Davis claims he is the only one with a copy, and it is a VHS of it from 1982. And if you've seen the footage they did post of it on the OS, you've seen the quality of the footage. The OS even says that what they have from his tape is the best quality.

Just because he's the only one with a copy doesn't mean that the source materials don't exist anymore. I'm positive they do, as evidenced by the Wicket/Boba Fett footage that's in the easter egg on the official DVD set. Warwick's VHS isn't the source material, the 35mm film is. And you could most definitely create a hi-def master from that, if one were given access to it.

I'm pretty sure it's never been released, but I recall there being a DVD re-creation of it not too long ago. I'll see if I can find the link tomorrow, when I have more energy.

I just read that the 4-hour supplementary material is, in fact, going to be on the DVD to be released near the end of November. I guess this is bittersweet, but should we complete this beast anymore? We have come a long way.

EDIT: I just re-read it, and nowhere is the commentary mentioned, so I think the project would be worth completing at least for that. It is a pretty great commentary.

I'm starting to think though that we need two forums now, a 'Star Wars Trilogy Preservation and Fan edits' forum and a 'Other really cool movies Preservation and Fan edits thread'... but it *would* get awful quiet here if that was the case.

I agree, another forum would be nice. I felt kind of weird posting about it here, but it would go unnoticed by the people I wanted to notice it in the off-topic forum.

Looking forward to the reviews!

I agree with this, but I wasn't reporting a Star Wars bootleg, it's a DEVO bootleg that I reported. The reason I did it is because people shouldn't be duped by paying money for something the seller had nothing to do with in the first place, and I run a website where people can get nearly any DEVO bootleg for B&P (including the one I reported). I try to stop as many DEVO bootleg auctions as I can.

And the reason I want to tell on someone who hasn't done anything to me is that they're swindling people and making a dishonest buck. It's just not right.

This morning, I completed work on my edit of the 2003 remake of 'Willard' starring Crispin Glover. I don't know if anyone is really into this movie (aside from Garrett), but I went ahead and did my own little re-edit of it, based on a bootleg copy of the workprint I have on VCD. It was shot to be an R-rated film, but after it didn't test well, it was cut to PG-13. It still didn't test well, but the director (Glen Morgan) didn't fight for the original cut, so it was released in theaters as PG-13. While this is the version I fell in love with (and really, it's not bad by any means), the film definitely stronger with some of the scenes that were cut.

Luckily, almost all of these scenes were included on the DVD (only random shots here and there were excluded) in wonderful quality. Most of these were just drag-and-drop jobs and I finished the edit in only a couple hours. Below, you'll find the list of what I added and what I didn't add. I did not cut anything from the film, except scenes that I replaced with their original versions.

ADDITIONS:
*A long scene between Willard and Cathryn at the office, working after hours. Very nice character showcase.
*A scene of Willard's mother almost catching him as he's leaving to sicc the rats on Mr. Martin's car.

ALTERATIONS:
*An alternate shot featuring Mr. Martin's assistant cursing the fact she has to give him a foot massage.
*Mr. Martin is now seen attending Willard's mother's funeral.
*The original version of Willard getting fired is re-instated. This features harsher language by Mr. Martin.
*Longer scene of Cathryn in the bathroom, and Willard finding Scully the cat's mutilated corpse.
*An extended version of the ending.

As one who personally complained to Zion about his behavior, I think we'd be better off with him gone. Like the TFN mod said, he probably will not change in his ways, continuing to use unnecessary language in even more unnecessary situations. However, I remember what I was like when I was posting on message boards around 13 years of age, and although my posts weren't nearly as troll-like as his, they were pretty immature. That and I've seen some kind-of okay posts from him. I say give him another chance, but don't let it be a long chance if we start to see the same behavior soon after.
