Just got the book today and spot checked a few scenes, it's got all that I need to work with. Now I just gotta learn how to author subtitles, but that shouldnt be too hard.

I think that this thread is still within boundaries of Rule #4 because it's my understanding that this DVD is OOP in Japan, but if I'm wrong, someone please correct me.

The sticker doesn't say "Never Before Seen", it says "Never Before Available", which is accurate in the US.

The current DVD also has all of the same deleted scenes. The only things that the current in-print DVD doesn't have that the Criterion one did is the original short film and the commentary.

The deleted scenes on the DVDs do not nearly add up enough to re-construct the workprint. The deleted scenes total about an hour, so re-instating them would make the movie about two and a half hours long. The workprint is four and a half hours.

He screened a version of the "Whole Bloody Affair" a while ago and I remember there being a number of changes to make it a better whole. The only one I can remember specifically, though, is the reveal to the audience of The Bride's baby toward the end of Vol 1 was removed for more impact at the very end of the flick.

As a resident of Pittsburgh and a member of the tour group that was on the tour featured on the DVD set, I can tell you that it hasn't changed much since then, and it's a pretty generally uninteresting place. Except for the boiler room. We weren't even supposed to go in there and the mall worker going around with us kinda let us in there on a whim. That rocked.

It also reminds me of how there were originally the Goosebumpbs books, of which some were adapted for the TV series, and then episodes of the TV series were adapted back into shorter books. Even as a grade skool kid, I found this ridiculous and highly amusing.

For those unfamiliar, this was an unproduced Ed Wood script that was made into a film in 1995, starring Billy Zane and others. I know there’s an official Japanese DVD out there, anyone happen to have a copy of it? The one I have is a made from a generation-affected VHS dub of a screener.

I'd definitely be interested in an anamorphic version of those discs. I liked the original version mostly because of the Japanese subtitles, it was like watching old bootlegs of Eraserhead and Bad Taste I had on VHS all over again, but I think the picture on these laserdiscs is good enough to warrant the removal of the subtitles.
