Wow, really? I'd be interested in seeing that. An Ed Wood script that's actually done well and is sought after? If only Ed was still alive to see that.

It's still filled with the kitch and humor of Ed Wood films, but the tone and art direction in I Woke Up are absolutely impeccable. It's an homage without making fun. Maybe I should make a torrent of it to seed on Demonoid so more people can check it out.

I Woke Up Early the Day I Died.

Inde film from the mid 90s, based on an unproduced Ed Wood script. It was the only thing that Ed saved from his apartment when it went up in smoke. There's no dialogue, it stars Billy Zane, and it's highly (and excellently) stylized. The soundtrack is also impeccable. It's really fucking great and it's a shame that it's been tied up in rights issues so that it's not commercially available in the States.

STAR WARS: EP IV 2004 <strong>REVISITED</strong> ADYWAN *<em>1080p HD VERSION NOW IN PRODUCTION</em>

::applause to Ron::

Well done, friend, well done.

Adywan, fuck the naysayers (especially the elaborate ones) and press on. When all is said and done, you'll have put however much time into making a great edit, and he (or they) will have put however much time into formulating ridiculous insults. Which party will have something to show for their efforts?

All I can really say that is in any way comforting is that if you re-do this project using DVD-lab (my own personal choice for DVD authoring) is that it also reads Photoshop document files and is able to import them as images, which you can import as menus. So you wouldn't have to do any of that work over again, just the maddening linking and such.

***The ADigitalMan non-Star Wars DVD Info and Feedback Thread***

Finally got around to watching Redeemed, so here's my thoughts on that and II.

Superman II: The Hybrid Edition was quite excellent in nearly every respect. The only thing that bugged me was an issue with my cheapo DVD player, which flickered the image wherever there was a cut between the two sources. That's weird. The movie and editing themselves, though, is masterful. I really like the Donner Cut for its purism, but if you're watching the Superman series in order, you can't watch it in sequence; it doesn't make sense, and the ending hurts a lot. With the Hybrid, you don't have to worry about any of it, and this will probably be the version of the flick I watch from now on.

Superman Redeemed was a bit weirder for me. I haven't seen Superman III or IV since I was a small child, maybe 6 years old tops. Needless to say, I remember diddly-squat. I was going to check them out again soon, actually, until I heard about this edit and then I figured I'd save it until I checked this out to just see how it played. My gut reaction: plays pretty weird. If this edit had been a normal movie, theatrically released, I'd think that the boys upstairs left quite a few bugs unfixed. The pace is weird, and the tone isn't really consistent. However, looking past that, I honestly couldn't tell which stuff was from Superman III and which was from Superman IV. (Being more familiar with II, the Paris scene stood out to me, but the way it was edited in here worked incredibly well for the newly constructed story.) What's more, the actual story that was constructed in this version is impressively coherent. This is definitely one of the better examples of what a fan edit can be: a complete reimagining of a story given available footage.

Overall, ADM, some of your finest work to date. Can't wait to check out the Returns edit.

I cant believe I come back after all this damn encodeing on shit that is NOT even released to find bickering on friggin artwork

DJ, I really meant no disrespect. I've got your Monster Squad and Twilight Zone discs and they look amazing. I'm really looking forward to From Beyond and your upcoming release of Howard the Duck is mouth-watering to say the least. I really wasn't trying to start anything, I'm just nitpicking, like I said. I don't think it should be the subject of such a heated response. So I heartily apologize if I offended you, I was just trying to offer some constructive criticism. Cass and Kracker, your covers look great, and I wouldn't let the very minor aspect ratio discretion on them stop me from using them on my shelf.
