Waterworld ABC Cut? A ton of info - see McFly's posts for details (Released)

Just got Lorang's disc today. It's NTSC and pretty spiffy quality! Comparing it with the disc I seeded, though, I don't know if there's a significant difference because I forgot I had previously gotten a cleaner copy of the Encore broadcast. Compare the sample that Lorang posted with the first disc of the Encore version, if you would.

Fucking hell, you have no place to be angry here. This (and other projects that I've heard people moan about the use of DL discs on) is something that someone did for free out of love of the work. There is absolutely no room for you or people like you to criticize, suck up and fucking deal with it.

bkev, I'm not talking to you here, you were very respectful in your post. Figuring out how to shrink a DL disc to SL isn't too hard if you just look around.

Info Wanted: Star Wars Interactive Board Game DVD ... stuck on @99.7% of DL...

I might have the MST3K60m segments with me. Perhaps not all of them, but a good amount. I'll look.

Do you have the rough cut of #505, the Magic Voyage of Sinbad? I am missing that one.

EDIT: I looked, I do have all of them here. It'd be kind of a pain in the ass to individually reseed that many torrents, but maybe I could send you a disc?

Not sure about the SE featurettes, but I do have The Force Returns. My tape was the source for OCP's "Special Edition Hype" disc, which also has the special. You're welcome to borrow my VHS if you want, but there might be someone around with a better copy and I won't be able to get to the tape until early May.

Though if you do need it, I will gladly loan it to you when I can get to it.

When I had to create the English subtitles for the Johnny Mnemonic Japanese cut DVD, I found a program that I really like called DivXLand Media Subtitler.

Basically, you load in a video. Encode it to AVI first, just to do this with, so it doesn't have to look good. You just need it for time referencing. I had trouble working from MPEG2. Basically, you type in the caption you want, and hold down APPLY as the section of video you want the subtitle on plays. It'll write the timecode and you can export it to whatever format you need to import into DVD-lab (I did).

I just looked at the program, though, for the first time since I did that project and it's a bit more tedious than I remember. Still, though, it did produce results.

I'll be torrenting my copy starting tomorrow. Lorang's is on its way to me. If you don't want to wait on torrents of those, email me and we'll work something out.

For a composite of this, I'd say keep it all fullscreen. It's not really easy to watch it that way, but it's less jarring than switching between a two very, very different aspect ratios.
