Info Wanted: Best Episode III Edit?

Kerr's seems interesting, but for me 88 minutes seems as if too much has been cut. I've been looking at Spence's and Stankpac's edits quite a bit since they seem to remove as little as possible yet still improve upon Episode III, are either of those any good?

Honestly, if you're worried about cut time, I would watch the original DVDs once (to watch the complete, canonical films), and then watch some of the edits.  That way you don't have to worry about missing out on anything, and at the same time you get to see some awesome fan edits that make the movies better (which often times means much shorter).

This is what I've done, since it had been years since I originally watched the prequel trilogy.  Otherwise you could be too focused on "what did I miss" when watching the fan edits for the first time.

Just my 2c.

I think a lot of people here will disagree with your opinion about "too much cutting" bouerbouer, especially in the case of Yoda fighting.  But, here are a few threads already posted on these boards (and others) that will give you the answers you're looking for:

Personally I think L8wrtr's Shadow of the Sith is the best EP1 edit, and he's in the process of doing the second two (at the same time).

I haven't seen edits of 2 or 3, but Kerr's Dark Force Rising edit of 3 seems to be universally loved.

Obviously Adywan's edits are amazing, but Dark_Jedi is just now releasing great versions of the theatrical original trilogy.  More info here.

I would have bought that shirt, but the fact that Link has his sword in his right hand is an immediate no-sell for me.

I guess I'm a Zelda purist.

hahaha I bought Twilight Princess for the Wii, so I guess I'm used to it.  Also have the GC version as well though..

The Cleveland Cavs played the Miami Heat last night, which resulted in awesomeness at the appropriate sites:

Those sites are amazing Frink, especially from an Ohioan's standpoint.

What is your favorite versions of the following movies: Apocalypse Now, Alien, Aliens, Blade Runner and Terminator 2?
Time

Apocalypse Now: Redundant is more like it.   Why fix something that is perfect?   I've never seen an Alien directors cut but the same reasoning applies here.

Terminator 2: I can't remember what it was called, but it was an extended edition from the double-wide silver Ultimate Edition.  Some extra laughs for sure, and like you said, nothing that took away from the movie, so it was worth it.  Plus, once you've seen it so many times (as I have) it's cool to see new stuff, like the terminator trying to smile :p

OK Computer.  To be fair, I haven't heard much recently, but I didn't care for the few albums after OK Computer, and I just sort of gave up - there's too much music and not enough time to keep hoping a band will turn things around for me.

I can understand that, a lot of people were turned off by Kid A and the ones that followed because they are definitely not normal rock albums.  In fact, there is hardly any guitar, and when there is it's really screwed up and morphed, as is Thom Yorke's voice.

But I highly highly recommend In Rainbows.  Released 10 years after OK Computer, it's sort of a companion piece.  Really mellow, beautiful tracks, as opposed to the pounding synth of Hail to the Thief.  Check it out if you get the chance and have the desire.

And The Bends, the album they released before OK Computer, is pure rock & roll and amazing.

**edit - If only GL could be so consistant (on topic ;))

Fixed. :p

Craziness!  The Bends, OK Computer, and Kid A were three of the greatest albums of the past 25 years and they released them back to back to back!

But music depends much more on personal taste than film I suppose... to each his own

Radiohead has put out 9 albums in 18 years and not one of them was bad and almost all of them were amazing.

Paul Thomas Anderson has made 5 brilliant films over 15 years without a single slip up.  Christopher Nolan's made 7 in 12 years to the same effect.

Stanley Kubrick made 13 films over a period of 46 years and they were all as close to perfect as a filmmaker could ever get.

I'm not saying everyone should be held to the standards of Radiohead and Kubrick, I'm just saying, it happens.
