Info: a Big bust at the Motor City Comic Con - bootleg sellers
Time

I was at the Motor City Comic Con in Novi, MI today and at about 4 PM they closed down every bootleg DVD seller. First there were Novi police followed by Michigan State police. All the sellers were handcuffed. After a while representatives from the MPAA and the RIAA were there. I haven’t a f’n clue why the RIAA were there. No one was selling audio CDs. Anyway about 7 PM they were all led out to a police van. All of the stock was boxed up and put into a huge U-Haul.

A side note…They all were selling copies of Deleted Magic. I noticed copies at every one of there tables.

I have that and the interesting thing is that when it was shown in rerun it is a different take. It may have been a rehersal take or something. Currently it is lost in my pile of tapes due to be transfered one day. But I am sure I have it.

I’ve been watching SNL since the beginning. It has had it ups and downs and I don’t want this to become any kind of debate into what cast ruled, etc…

But I was just wondering if anyone has archived older episodes to DVD? I liked the Billy Crystal years. And when stations occasionally show old ones on TV they are usually edited down to 60 min. It would be nice to see some of that stuff in it’s original format. Back in the late 80’s they released many VHS tapes of full shows from the first few years. And other that those best of DVDs that are out I don’t believe any full shows have been released on DVD format.

How about a re-working of the Twilight Zone movie. But do it so that each of the 4 episodes is like the TV show with the intro and credits and such.

That would probably be simple.

Has it ever been release in widescreen laserdisc?

has anyone ever seen the twilight zone edited version of planet of the apes? i thought it was great!

Where can you get that?

Not true. It was filmed exclusively for the trailer. There is one shot of Spidey that was used in the final film, but it wasn't intended for it. Sam Raimi just liked it.

I was just going by a Raimi interview that I saw on TV at the time of the release where he actually said it was intended in the film but left out due to 911. he said it was at the part where the show the multiple clips of Spidey fighting crime in the middle of the film.

The Thing has an elusive teaser trailer. It features footage of the arctic and comes up to a block of ice. This has been confirmed by Universal. Why they didn't include it on their DVD is unknown.

I haven't seen that yet. I want to though.

Since I like all types of film I thought of maybe doing DVD compilations by year of release.

Another thing that is great about some trailers is sometimes they include footage that didn't make the filnal cut or in some cases they are specifically shot for the trailer. For example the teaser for Space Balls. Remember that one? "Just space? Where are the balls?" Mel Brooks.
