A resolution boost would require a restoration anyway because the current master is most likely locked at 1080p, if not 2k.

The auralnauts version is great. They somewhat recently came out with empire strikes back too, I haven’t watched it yet.

Really? There’s some effects and double tracking in the beginning but on the whole that sounds way more natural than what we got on the album. The instruments sound better too.

Indeed. I think our two edits will compliment each other nicely as well, the styles are different enough that they should appeal to different audiences. I really respect yours. I never could finish mine I’ve been on and off for 8 years on mine but I’m determined this time. (Actually I did finish out at one point but in SD and I stayed over and lost everything to do it on HD)

Hey would you be opposed to me borrowing a few bits of audio from your edit? Namely the force choke sound (I know it wouldn’t be hard to make myself, but you already did it just fine lol) and, I haven’t decided if I’m keeping the droid torture scene or not butif I do perhaps you’re audio there as well? I knew you borrowed it from ziggys edit but I don’t have that.
Also I’ve made a few changes in my goal. I’m just sticking with the 2011 colors, because on my display they actually look quite good. (They didn’t fuck this one up as bad as in ANH and ESB in the color department) Also going to, for the most part, stick with the 2011 sound mix but still use the 1993 mix in some spots. (Vader’s no, Han’s Trust Me, etc.) Will still be doing the audio in 2.0 for a couple reasons. One because it will make the workflow easier, and two because I’m going to be encoding at a 384 kbps 2.0 ac3 file, editing from 2.0 wavs converted from the dts tracks, so you will essentially be getting dts quality but without dts headaches. As before though it will still be dolby surround/pl2 compatible, and as before I will still provide an upmix for those without it. (Still will recommend the 2.0 if you have PLII though, as 384 spread across only 2 channels is very high, double the GOUT in fact, whereas 448 for 6 channels will basically just be standard DVD quality. So it will still sound good, but will have more compression)
The reason for the 93 to 2011 switch is really quite simple. It sounds better. I had (falsely) assumed that because the 93 mix for ANH (Star wars if you prefer) was so much better than the 2011 (the music is washed out in the 2011, and the dialogue sounds so much better, without sounding like they switched sources every other sentence) that it would also sound better for ESB and Jedi, but upon examination this is not true. It does still win for ANH though.
