No. Dialogue will only be changed during long shots, back shots, and other shots where you can't see the mouth moving.

I sense an air of skepticism here; you probably won't believe this until you see it. Everyone else I talked to about it laughed at me (including my relatives), so I don't know why I expected this to be different.

(1 year later)
Trooperman: Oh they laughed at me, but who's laughing now?! Muahahahah!

Just something funny I thought I'd bring up. One year and of course I'm still skeptical, but optimistically skepetical of course

Might be a bit slow I think--I had to find something that would blend with the running orchestra already there, the thing I have uses a little high pitched sting from the woodwinds and it goes pretty good--no matter what the cut is really tough though cause he's slicing at the thing from a standing position when it's supposed to look like he's walking right through it.

Slumberland, don't worry about that shot I forced you to do, the darkness of the credits and the final scene cover the transition just fine and I felt bad for kinda obligating you, but if u want I know I'll need help with Episode II cause I have to pick a different shot without C3PO as the final shot.

COUPLE OF NEW CHANGES:
1 - Added Sebulba's engine sound to some more shots where he's overtaking Anakin making for a much more exciting final stretch, I got the idea from George talking about it on the "making of the podrace," but for some reason it I guess the Mr. Burtt wasn't listening to him.
2 - Jar Jar and Padme's meeting
3 - Droids don't have ranks or make many orders
4 - Cut out Anakin and Padme's scene alltogether, they get to know each other just fine later
5 - Let's see what I can remember...I cut out some of the "hey kids listen to your mother cause Darth Vader does" stuff.
6 - Cut out Kixter or whoever his little friend is--I have nothing against him, but the scenes he was involved in just kept sucking and getting cut, so he kinda disappeard.
7 - Cut out "Duel the Fates" from the end credits, seriously if i hear that one more damn time...
Arrgh there's a bunch more I can't remember--but it's going much more smoothly

NEW FINALIZING LIST:
1 - Crawl--my go-to guy isn't really helping me out, I should ask somebody around here, he's more into the "supplemental" material than doing anything productive.

Wow--that's it--I even have the DVD menus set and ready to go--all is needed is the crawl! I know Rebel1138 is a good go-to guy--Darth Editious too right? Anybody else?

Anyone interested in a new Dark Side of the Rainbow edit? There's this bootleg DVD-A floating around, i dunno if anyone already knows about it, but it's supposed to be stolen master tapes captured and mixed into Alan Parson's original quadrophonic mix or something, and it's on an Audio DVD, which means you got about 4 GBs of unspoiled even-closer-to-analog sound. At least that's what I think I downloaded...it's definitely a different mix. I haven't compared it to the SACD cause I don't have that, but it definitely sounds better than my RegularCD remaster.

Anyway, maybe you could go with a dual layer disc, with about 4 gigs dedicated to preserving the sound of the DVD-A and the other 4 gigs dedicated to a descent reencode of The Wizard of Oz. Would this be tight?

He died before having a chance to approve new transfers made for the 16x9 format. The decision to go open matte had more to do with wanting to use available image instead of letterbox bars since it wasted a lot of resolution. He protected his films for either ratio, so it was a smart move. Now that we have anamorphic widescreen, it's a moot point.

Here's how his films should be shown:

Killer's Kiss - 1.33:1
The Killing - 1.75:1
Paths of Glory - 1.75:1
Spartacus - 2.20:1 (70mm prints, preferable) or 2.35:1 (35mm scope prints, which is fine too)
Lolita - 1.66:1
Dr. Strangelove - 1.66:1
2001: A Space Odyssey - 2.20:1 (obviously)
A Clockwork Orange - 1.66:1
Barry Lyndon - 1.66:1
The Shining - 1.85:1
Full Metal Jacket - 1.85:1
Eyes Wide Shut - 1.85:1

Also, the new DVDs for The Shining and Eyes Wide Shut will be 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen. Eyes Wide Shut will be uncut. A Clockwork Orange will be 1.66:1 anamorphic widescreen.

This is true. This was only because of the horrors of home viewing. We're basically looking behind the scenes when we see these films in full frame 4:3, like the helicopter shadow in the credit sequence of the Shining, or the fake bike you see in Burton's Pee Wee's Big Adventure.

This is interesting, I hope it gets done. I figured since the unedited version is coming out soon there'd be no need for it, but the music change is real interesting, they probably wouldn't let the original music back in (it's easier to tell moralistic interest groups to screw off than it is...uhh...cultural interest groups). The "zoom in" during the mirror scene is real interesting too. [subscribes]

Trying out NicAudio--Premiere problem
Time
Okay, Something was wrong with sourcing the audio for an avisynth file with Directshow, so somebody said use Nicaudio cause it's better anyway. The file plays fine in any media player, but when I import it into Premiere I get no sound for some reason (I deleted the old conformed audio files, still nothing). This is only happening with one file, I tried importing another file for a different project and Premiere will get the sound. The only difference between the two files is one is using a 3/2 ac3 file and one is a 2/0 file so I guessed that was the problem for some reason...so I tried using the 2/0 mix from the same DVD for this paticular project and tried that, again it played fine in all the media players. When I import it into Premiere, I get audio, but the video has a strange error message I can barely read that says:

[something off screen]AC3Source: error in file "Test 2/0 CHANNEL TO2........ac3"

Here's the Script for my 3/2 version--avisynth version 2.57

LoadPlugin("C:\CONVERSIONKIT\ConversionKit\dgmpgdec147b5\DGDecode.dll")
LoadPlugin("F:\Program Files\AviSynth 2.5\plugins\NicAudio.dll")
v = mpeg2source("C:\PHANTOM_MENACE\ProjectIndexEpisode1.d2v")
a = NicAC3Source("F:\Documents and Settings\Samuel Hawkins\My Documents\Adobe\Premiere Pro\7.0\SWTESTS\ProjectIndexEpisode1 T01 3_2ch 448Kbps DELAY 0ms.ac3")
audiodub(v,a)
LanczosResize(844, 480)

Okay I hope this wasn't sporatic and unfocused enough someone couldn't figure out what I'm doing wrong. As always, thanks.

Wow--project is absolutely fine. I was scared for awhile. I will be adding a short tribute to Darth Editous on the DVD for saving the project.

I am working off of a 1 GB master drive that is very old and therefore very slow, so I will still have to wait for a new one come about September 14th, but the project is right back where it was: 99.99% done. The only new problem might be reinstalling premiere because I'm not sure about how registration will work if I'm installing it twice.

Batman Begins was so almost completely tight. It suffers from what it's missing more than what needs to be cut. Sometimes his whole ninjitsu safety net got kinda annoying for me, getting from point A to point B was just too easy. The Scarecrow didn't have nearly enough screen time--he's so tight in the basement of the asylum toward the end, but they didn't let his character permeate more throughout the film.

Fight scenes could easily be slowed down while only needing to maintain the audio pitch.

HELP: Avisynth/DGIndex Reassociating
Time
Allright, so my old master hard drive exploded recently and my computer stopped working. I found out the thing was completely dead and I have to reinstall XP on another hard drive. I found a real old and really crappy 1 GB hard drive and I tried putting a partition on it and I guess it works for the short run (the very short run). The problem is now that even though all my project files and stuff were on my slave drive and not lost, the drive got a new letter so everything was dissassociated. Of course I can change the avisynth files real easy, but now my problem is the DGIndex files. Whenever I open an avisynth file now I get "MPEG2Source: could not open one of the input files." So I figured there was a break in the chain between the original vts files and the d2v file right? So I have no idea how to reassociate the d2v with the vts. I tried opening DGIndex and tried going to "load project" to see if I could do anything there, but nothing would load.

So that's basically where I got on my own. I've tried everything: yelling at it, spitting at it...Help!

Version of avisynth is 2.57--although all the work I did before the crash was 2.56 so I guess I installed a newer version. Could that also be a problem?

Here's my latest set, will work on a new set this week again..
Note: They will be available as soon as I get my new site up and running - I'm not telling too much, but it could be a joint-site with a fellow-artist.

I hope you like it, comments appreciated!

The only thing I'd say about them is that the screen shots are all laid out the same way for each movie. Real cool though.

No it wasn't just a ploy, it was a production decision because of the blue sky at the Sarlacc Pit, they were afraid they wouldn't see it--although I could see it just fine on the original trailer, I dunno that's what I was told. I'm pretty sure that's correct, the only bs we ever get about Star Wars is always in the guise of an "artistic decision" and not a production decision. I'm just throwing it out there is all, can't wait to see it.

Dear God, there really is no way to stop this is there? The special interest groups have taken over--you can fuck up the hard work of others with a single letter complaining about two cartoons!

This is why the next remake that Hollywood does needs to be Farhenheit 451! Special interest minority groups are going to hell!

('minority' meaning a small percentage of course...)

That's a cool search engine--what are some of the sources?--the quality's a tad under par for the search results for "fire" and stuff, but that's pretty cool cause I need a place like that. And I got your PM miasta, I looked over your list and I'm still deciding cause there's a lot of kickass stuff there, I would have responded sooner but a fucking pox betook my computer.

So my master drive crapped out on me. All my project files and everything important I keep on my slave drive so that's okay, but unfortunately my avisynth set up and a lot of other configurations important to the project are gone. I'm not sure what exactly I can do to save the project, but it'll be tentative reinstalling from here on for awhile. This sucks cause I was all done--I even did a redo of the THX logo with some added phat audio mixing. Anyway I think there's hope, but I'm trying to figure it out.

Well maybe not completely unrealistic, what about that guy you can pay like $40 for stuff like this? You'd just need to give him the layout and he'd add it to his repetoire.
