Adding Black Bars to Premier project?
Time
The variables are incorrect. You want the black bars over a 16:9 ratio for a film 2.35:1.

1/2.35 = x/720. Cross multiply and get x = 306. Subtract that from 360 height for 16:9 dvd video source and you get 54. Divide by 2 and you get 27.

Why is the template 720x486 and not 720x480?

I think 27 each is right, but I don't know why--you said making them 60 pixels each wasn't big enough. Maybe putting together your template with a height of 360 instead makes my equation work. I'm sorry I didn't come in with stock knowledge and instead calculated it myself (and might've calculated it wrong. But that's what I would do.

'All Summer In A Day' - Ray Bradbury short (Released)

I'm interested in the project, but can't really help with anything. I'd offer to help with the artwork, but my photoshop program is terrible with small type. I could help with making a snazzy dvd menu if you wanted and if I had the polished video someone else might be kind enough to do. Menus are real fun.

Either way, definitely want to see it, and I just felt like voicing some support.

That looks quite astounding. Maybe I can do an NTSC conversion. This is the 81-94 logo? I can't exactly tell

Shifty eyes--the aspect ratio might not matter depending on how they crop their logos film to film--anyone with more info on that?

Oh yeah--Willow on DVD anybody? for the retro/modern lucasfilm logo?

If you're talking about the screenshot I posted, that's the wrong logo--I just grabbed it off of wikipedia without looking at my ld, what you're describing in alien sounds right. maybe send a vob?

If it's an anamorphic version of the former of these two--jackpot

Right--NTSC--sometimes I forget where I am.

I think I can get away with the Lucasfilm logo coming from the GOUT, but I need something anamorphically crystal clear for Fox--to really get people riled up for this.

Star Wars and Empire
(logo spans 1953 to 1981)

Jedi
(logo spans 1981 to 1994)

If anyone has the Lucasfilm logo from Willow, I think that'd be cool too, it's not the original, but it looks real retro--maybe I'll do it as an alternate title.

Help Wanted: anyone have the old 20th Century Fox Logo in good quality?

Does anybody have a movie with the old 20th Century Fox logo in good quality? I’ve watched a lot of De-SEing projects who seem to try to use logos from laserdisc transfers instead of grabbing them from an anamorphic, better-preserved movie. I wanna do a little preservationalist project and I wanna start it off real nice from the get-go–I mean the logo is the first thing you see and seeing it in crappy quality was always a kill-joy for me watching De-SEing projects. Anyway if anyone has a 20th Century Fox film from the like–80s and back and can use–like–DVDShrink or something to just get that one clip in a vob file that’d be a great help.

Here’s a list–surprisingly I dont have any of these films!
