Max_Rebo's '97 SE superset' preservation (* unfinished project *)
Time

I swear that trailer for the SE was on the 2004 bonus disc. I love it too:p

Also, if your going to include the making of's from the vhs there is a far better version of those included in the big limited edition SE set, the one with poster prints and a medalion of some sort. Included is a documentary called "the making of the star wars trilogy special edition" or something, and it consists of all 3 making of's from the vhs's edited together with more footage to create a documentary. Something else that would be interesting to have would be highest quality possible versions of the "Anatomy of a Dewback" web docs from starwars.com.

George Lucas's Interview with Seth MacFarlane (from the Family Guy DVD)
Time

Honestly, this interview confirmed what I've thought about Lucas for a very long time: he's not "evil", he's just an average guy (with a creative mind). If he only watches his movies once every 5 years or so, there is no way in hell he could possibly catch all these nitpick sorta things that people catch in his films... like goofs, continuity etc. and it fully explains the 2004 alterations IMO. You see, Lucas seems to like "movies" in a very "average joe" kind of way. All the coulor problems and things like the blue tint aren't really important to the story, or the way the film works... its just important to people like us who are endlessly pissed off about these sorts of things. Don't get me wrong, these "things" really tick me off too (oh how eagerly I await ESB revisited), but Lucas is a family man (gotta respect that), and he has more important tings than messed up lightsaber effects to worry about when the films still work 99% well. The story and characters of the original trilogy are always going to be the same, the films haven't really been "ruined" unless you're going nitpick and be caught up with things that shouldnt really matter. I dont exactly enjoy shifty CGI effects invading my childhood memories, but they arent really the biggest deal beacsue they arent actually changing anything about the intent of the film (only individual scenes are effected). Anyways, considering this information, its much easier to apreciate his opinion on releasing original versions or correcting mistakes.... he doesnt have to do anything because nothing is technically wrong! It just sucks for people like us haha.

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom: The InfoDroid Edit (Released)
Time
There are a few things I might change in raiders if I was given the chance. Nothing major, but still a few things, so here goes lol.

I would for sure add the new Lucasfilm logo from crystal skull, and of course change the title to "Indiana Jones and the".. I really like the idea of making the titles more like crystal skull and crusade. I would also like to add in the new digital shot of the truck going off the cliff that showed up on an HD broadcast if I'm not mistaken, if someone has a good capture of it that is.

I would probably remove Marrion's line "oho, oh nooo" when the mokey knocks over the juice or whatever when they're with Sallah's family. I think it sounds really dubbed, and odd for her (if it is indeed supposed to be her). In terms of audio, there's a couple other small things I'd change, like the lines/mutterings coming from the guys that fight indy in marrion's bar. They sound very dubbed and "odd" in a few places. I would also love to add in some new punching sounds like in crystal skull (if they were indeed new... is it just me or did those punches sound extra intense).

I have also never understood how jock (the guy who flies Indy away in the beginning) could possibly see Indy running from all the natives when he looks up and it cuts to Indy in the field. If some sort of visual effects trickery could be used to alter the shot of Indy in the field to show how he may be visible, I would be very much in favor of that.

I'm super tired right now and can't really remember anything else that has always bothered me, but I will post more when/if i remember it (or if I can come up with anything else lol, raiders is pretty damn good). I would still love seeing these things changed and totally merits an edit IMO. I'll probably end up doing this stuff myself one day if no one else does.

Info Wanted: Is the RAIDERS soundtrack CD OOP?
Time
Someone on Demonoid put up complete (or at least 99% complete) scores for all three original Indy movies. Included in the torrents were text files that chronicled his efforts and what sources he used. Whats amazing is that all the music is clean with no sound fx whatsoever. he used the official soundtracks, the infamous bootlegs and a few other random sources.. I HIGHLY recommend downloading them.

I bought the soundtrack and really like it. On par with all the films. The second cut on the soundtrack - Call Of The Skull is a really great theme that shows up several times in the film. One of the better themes Williams has written, I think. Deep, calm, and eery.

I too just bought the soundtrack actually, and I have to say that I think I was a bit hard on it. Ive seen the movie again since that post, and I think it has more to do with the way the film was mixed. Like the prequels, I think the music was very overwhelmed by sound effects in certain scenes. I mean during some of the action, the music almost sounds like ambient noise lol. I really liked the score and, now, do agree that it is on par with those of the other films. Although it still bugged me when Williams reused the theme he wrote fro TLC, the like pensive father son one.

I just got back from seeing it and really loved it.... except for one thing.. the score! Where was the new music... themes! I want themes!! For all the other films, Williams wrote new and exciting material - that always got me super excited. But I have to say that this was the least creative work that Williams has ever done as far as I'm concerned. There were no cues that really got me "pumped" so to speak, and the use of material from The Last Crusade seemed really inappropriate.

But aside from the score (which wasn't "bad", just not really good), I really did enjoy the film. I had ALOT of fun watching the thing, and it kicks Temple of Doom's ass in my opinion.

STAR WARS: EP IV 2004 REVISITED ADYWAN *1080p HD VERSION NOW IN PRODUCTION

"Would you consider uploading an amended version for the DVD-5 releases?"

My cover isn't release specific. The details on the back are rather basic (a description of the film, credits, anamorphic, 5.1 etc.). If you wanted to add details, however, I can't imagine that it would be very hard at all (simple back).

I would upload the cover now, but I'm quite the newbe when it comes to this sort of tech, and the cover will surface with ady's DVD9 anyway.

Hello

I sent my completed cover to ady for the dvd 9. The changes I made from that preview to my finished product weren't very drastic, buy improved it IMO (mainly small things you couldn't see in the preview anyway).

Ady, what do you mean exactly when you say a "CD version of the Revisited music soundtrack"? Do you mean a CD with the score for a new hope + the music you tracked in its edited form? And do I recall you saying that you improved the soundtrack recording in some fashion? Just curious.

Star Wars Prologue - Epic Prequel Edit (Released)
Time
There were scenes during the Jedi purge where more Jedi are being killed (like the Twi'lek Jedi Aayla Secura)

Sorry, but did I miss something? How can they be included, I thought that these scenes were unreleased, and that all that existed of them were stills from making-ofs etc. Were you planning to recreate them through some visual effects wizardry that doesn't seem possible?

STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW
Time
Wow, I really enjoyed that trailer. And like everyone else I've got a couple things to say....

1. I really like the SE Wampa stuff. I hope it doesn't change, but it is your edit ady, as many have said, do what you want.

2. About that window in cloud city that disappears. I would really like to see the window stay, if you can find a way to matte in the window convincingly. I really like what was done to cloud city in the SE, except for this error in continuity.

3. I love the music for ESB, and don't feel that it needs changing. However, there is music that Williams wrote for a part of the lightsaber duel that was left unused (a really heroic rendition of the force theme followed by Yoda's theme). Would you consider fooling around with restoring the unused segment? I've always loved that particular cue (Departure of Boba Fett), and wondered if Lucas (or whoever decided not to use it) was right in the decision to leave that part out.

4. I also like the shots added involving Vader's shuttle and arrival on the Executor, but I understand how they disrupt the flow. Is there any way that the sequence's timing could be reworked in order to keep the shots?

Info Wanted: Have there been any edits of '2010'?
Time
Hmmm, I doubt I can remember it all, but I might have come off a little harsh in my original post, for the record I really like the movie. What first comes to mind is some of the music, and then the voice over. I just wish it wasn't so dated in alot of ways, it didn't seem as classy as 2001. I'll elaborate later, but I'm really busy right now.

I was just inspired by mojo’s post to ask if there have ever been any edits of 2010: The Year We Make Contact. I really love parts of the film very much, but other parts kinda make me cringe. Has anyone ever tried to make it more like Kubrick’s 2001? I think its quite possible to do. I’ve got lots of ideas, and considered doing it myself, I just haven’t had the time to pursue a project like a fan edit.

No, I put a new hope there myself. I like it because the point (or part of the point) of ady's edit was to better tie the saga together, and considering that I'm going to do covers for his other projects (hopefully), just calling it star wars doesn't really work. Right? Also, I sort of fabricated the poster art from two different ones (I'm sort of proud).

You're right, I think it was u with all the suggestions, thanks. In regards to that, I couldn't find a place that the text "revisited" would look good on (at least to my eyes). I do however like the image on all three spines idea, and as I said, have come up with something for that. I'd like to put up another preview, but the imandix images are so small (therefore, it wouldn't look that different if u couldn't see it to begin with). Do I have to buy imandix pro for higher res images?

Wow focuspuller, what a great cover! I was actually considering something similar when I made mine, but I decided to save that poster with R2 and 3PO for when ady does ROTJ.

But again, nicely done!

EDIT:
By the way, I took whoever-it-was's suggestion (regarding my cover), and started work on a sort of image to go along the spines (assuming that ady does ESB and ROTJ). Thanks to whoever-it-was.
