Info Wanted: The Thin Red Line by Hans Zimmer - Expanded Score?
Time

So I’ve recently listened to Hans Zimmer’s score for “The Thin Red Line” and I thought it was great, just the same as the film.  Well, now I’m wondering if there is an expanded release floating around the internet somewhere.  I’ve read on forums and reviews that there are have been releases expanded by dvd rips, but they apparently suffer greatly from lots of dialogue and sound effects.  On a related note, I am also wondering if anyone knows the proper order that the music should be arranged in (has anyone ever seen a cue sheet or something?) considering that the film itself is no guideline; much of the material that Zimmer composed was left unused, heavily edited or re-mixed in the film, and much of the music’s placement in the film is not representative of where it was originally intended to be.

Zimmer composed several hours of music for the film (even before Terrence Malick began shooting) and Im looking for as much of that musical experience as possible.

So does anyone have an expanded release they would be happy to share? Or would someone be interested in taking on a project to make an expanded version of the score.  Is there even enough material available to make such a project worthwhile?

If anyone knows anything about the music at all, wants to take on a project, or just wants to comment… its what I’m looking for lol.

Star Wars Prequels/Original Trilogy: The Complete Scores (Released)
Time

GM, in the deleted scene with Shak-Ti in Episode III, the cue "General Grevious"  is used among other tidbits including some timpany drumming. Do you know if all this music was intended for the scene or was it tracked for the dvd?

On a side note, do any of the deleted scenes for the prequels have original music or is it all tracked?

Episode II by the Phantom Editor
Time

I'd love to see the phantom edits in great quality. Something that's always bothered me was that these two fantastic edits are somewhat rough around the edges (aka no opening crawl's and the continuity errors apparent in attack of the phantom). It would be a really cool project for someone to redo these edits very close to the way they were originally, just with opening crawls, better picture quality, and re-inserting the chase through coruscant and dogfight in the asteroid field that created more problems than they solved by being removed.

Any takers? :p

Terminator Salvation
Time

I am actually very excited. The film looks to be of a quality that greatly exceeds my original expectations of the film. And yeah, I agree that Christian Bale was a great choice. I'm just thrilled that he's involved. I think he may be able to restore some class that the series lost with T3 (ewww, T3). From what it looks like, this is going to be my favorite part of the franchise other than T2. I'm also really looking forward to what Stan Winston cooked up for the early "rubber skin" terminators. So, to sum up my thoughts after seeing the trailer, I'd say that this looks to be exactly the route that I thought the franchise had to go.
