I have KK650’s regrade, and it’s my “go to” version of Fellowship.
Still, it doesn’t really match the TE BD or EE DVD (and in fairness I know that’s not what he was trying to do) and in general just replaces the green tint with a blue one. It’s a definite improvment, but still not how the film should look (IMO).
Amazing that as popular as this movie is, and as many complaints about the green tint there were, there STILL hasn’t been a proper colour corrected release of this. At the very least something to match the Theatrical BD’s or EE DVD’s.
When Disney bought Lucasfilm, they bought EVERYTHING. There’s no contract that says they can’t release the out. For $4 billion, they don’t owe George anything.

I just happily discovered that Shadowlands is available in HD on iTunes, but I’m still looking for Educating Rita in HD, which is at the top of my wish list.

They raise the spectre that it may indeed by Lucas whose holding these up…either out of respect to him, or because Disney is legally proscribed from doing so (possibly as a condition of the sale).
I’m not sure if the recent increase in mainstream press attention to this subject means there really is some “there” there, or it’s just buzz feeding on itself.
Oh, it plays with the dissolve? Is the rest of the SE ICC hearing scene intact (the added lines)?
I also did this myself, mainly to get rid of the Hadley’s hope/colonist scene (which is really all I’m interested in ditching in the SE). The only thing I don’t like is, in the theatrical version there’s a dissolve between the ICC hearing and Ripley smoking in her flat, whereas in removing the scene out of the SE the result is a hard cut. In this case the dissolve just works better.

I wonder if there is a way with Terminator 2, to do also a middle of the road cut, that would involve the best scenes from the SE and remove the stupid parts like the smile scene. But what to keep?
You might just want to wait for PDB to finish his project, he’s doing exactly this…the TV cut, only w/corrected colour to match the THX LD. He’s already done Alien and it’s excellent.

Tried playing the 50gb on my WDTV Live box. The movie plays fine, but I can’t access the menus. Since I can access the menus with no problem on my ripped from retail DVD’s/BD’s, I’m assuming it has something to to with the authoring software. Pity. Guess I’ll stick with the mkv.
I did have a feeling that the comment was a bit of a wind up which is why i replied in jest ( hence the wink at the end). What happened here seems to be a variant of Poe’s Law, something like: "No matter what ridiculous things someone says sarcastically, there is someone else who says the same things, but is completely serious about them."
You really can’t blame people, who don’t know you at all, for not getting a joke, that could otherwise be a completely serious post. Had you said the same thing as a direct response to a newbie being demanding and ungrateful, it would have been a great joke, on its own, your intentions were not very clear.
Well, OK. I get that snark doesn’t always translate well online.

I’m a huge fan. I’d heard about your SW Revisted for a while before I watched it, because I thought “how good can it be”. And I’m frankly bit of a SW purist so Harmy’s project had more natural appeal to me. But when I saw what you did I was stunned that a fan could produce something like that. And I saw so many details about the film I’d missed simply by watching with your changes text commentary. So many lovely tweaks you did, and I even didn’t have a problem with Duel of the Fates.
