STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW

Why isn’t Page 1313 done yet?

I’m ready to read page 1314 now. And I’m afraid I’m going to have to insist.

Is this serious, or a joke? I’m not convinced it’s a joke, but if it was, it was executed very poorly. We have people come in here all the time demanding crazy shit they think they’re entitled to, so excuse me for not assuming the best of you.

A bit of parting advice. Don’t force people to make posts just to move the pages forward on your timetable. The forum will move to the next page whenever the forum is ready, and not before. If you don’t like the speed at which this forum moves, and are anxious to get to the next page, you should create your own forum with shorter pages. And in 1080p.

Don’t forget that you also got Adywan so pissed off that he signed back in just to complain about you. So, joke complete!

Do you think it’s enough to get me a mention in the credits?

though you know, one doeS woNder why this project is tAking so long. lucas made the empire strikes back in thRee years, then later released all three films on blu-ray at the same time. And those were in 1080p. so doing one of these 720p projects should be easy, though we’ll be lucKy to see them before episode IX.

Oh for crying out loud, I was mocking the people who come on here asking when Adywan’s, or Harmy’s, etc. release is and can they get it out ASAP before their uncle’s birthday or their sleepover on Saturday.

Some of you take yourselves way too seriously. And by some of you I mostly mean “TV’s Frink”.

I wonder if little Nicky’s a sock. His schtick seems awfully familiar.

I’m not a sock. I realise that I may have broken protocol a bit in bypassing both “anticipating” and “requesting” and going straight to insisting, and now demanding. But I felt it necessary given the interest in this project.

I regret having to take this step, and add extra pressure, but I don’t think I’m being unreasonable.

What is wrong with... Attack of the Clones? - a general discussion thread
Time

Attack of the Clones contains so many plot twists: the discovery that an entire star system was mysteriously erased from the Jedi Archives, the discovery that a clone army for the Galactic Republic was made in secret, the discovery that a deceased Jedi Master ordered the creation of the clone army, ect.

Yeah, what ever happened with all that anyway?

JRR Tolkien's The Hobbit: turning a mediocre trilogy into one really good film (Released)
Time

Finally got a chance to watch this…I enjoyed it immensely. In fact it’s safe to say it will become my go-to version of The Hobbit. Perfect for watching before a LOTR marathon.

The only thing I’d say I miss is the longer introduction of Beorn from the EE. The way they ended up in his house never made a lot of sense to me in the theatrical, it was bit jarring and given that you have limited options in transitioning from film 1 to 2, I think not including the extended intro makes it even more jarring than it needs to be. IMO the film flows, and works much better with the extended intro. Moreover, since Beorn plays a larger part in the books than the films, and since you’re trying to follow the book closer, I’m a bit surprised you did’t include this bit. It also makes the “pay off” of seeing him in the final battle a bit more satisfying. If you ever revist this it’s the one thing I’d love to see put back in.

I noted you also cut out the enchanted river in Mirkwood, which was also in the book. But I agree with your choice here. The scene is bizarre, bogs the story down, and photographed in such a way that it’s inconsistent with the rest of the films. So good call there.

The only thing you’ve included that I would have liked to have seen gone is Alfrid’s sucking up to Bard on the lake after Laketown is destroyed. Since you’ve cut most of Alfrid out anyway, this seems unnecessary.

That said, these are small complaints in what is a amazing fan edit. Well, more than that, a complete reimagining of the films that’s has increased my enjoyment of The Hobbit almost as much as the EE’s increased my enjoyment of LOTR. In fact other than Adywan’s work it’s the only fan edit I’ve bothered with, so well done.

Project Threepio (Star Wars OOT subtitles)
Time

CatBus said:

There’s been some discussion of that already (not sure which page, but it’s in the thread) – it’s clear there’s some sort of vocalization before “just”, but it’s not clear (to me, at least) that it’s a word. I take it as a sort of semivocalized sigh, like a less distinct version of what Leia does in ROTJ before she says “It’s not like that. He’s my brother.” But it could also be an indistinct word. There’s a lot of stuff like that in these films, actually. But basically if I’m not 100% sure it’s even a word, I’m not subtitling it.

Basically, we had an “It’s just Luke”, a “No, just Luke”, and a “Heh, just Luke”. I’m inclined to the last one, but since the sentence works without anything there, it’s not terribly clear, and there’s some uncertainty about it, I just don’t subtitle the “Heh” at all.

Fair enough. I’m also inclined towards “It’s just Luke” (or, “That’s just Luke”), but simply leaving it as “Just Luke” seems like the best call.

BTW…I’m sure this has been asked many times before, but are there English .sup files timed to the SE BD’s available? Either full and/or w/alien dialogue? I’d like to use them for my mkv’s of the BD’s.

Thanks!

Harmy featured in WSJ
Time

Dear Mr. Harmywan,

I’m with the Northampton Gazette, and we’re doing an article on local residents with disabilities who have managed to stay useful doing little hobbies such as yours. We’d be very interested in speaking with you about your “Star Wars Silver Derevisted Edition”.

Please contact us when you feel up to it. Thank you.

Ranking the Star Wars films
Time

Agree with the above list completely.

Setting aside TFA for a moment, given the massive popularity and cultural impact of Star Wars, you’d think we were talking about six great films.

But IMO, when it comes down to it you’ve got two great films, two “good” films, and two not so great films. In any event, I’d rank them all thusly:

ESB
ANH

ROTJ
TFA
ROTS

TFM
ATOC (which I find to be borderline unwatchable)

I’m tempted to place TFA above ROTJ, but OT nostalgia wins out.

Info Wanted: 'LOTR - FELLOWSHIP OF THE RING': Green tint removed?
Time

Any word on an updated colour correction for this one? Has anyone done a new version?

I have KK650’s version, and I’m a fan (it’s definitely an improvement over the BD), but his version seems to simply swap out the green tint for a (admittedly less obtrusive) blue one. It’s a better viewing experience, to be sure, but distracting its own way.

I frankly don’t remember how the film look in theatres, but I’d be happy with something that matched the theatrical BD, or Extended DVD, in terms of colour.
