Watto you getting at here?
Watto you getting at here?
3 or so hours until the next teaser image!
Not if you just fanedit the III into a II. Then just do the same for the I and you’ve really reduced your wait time.
Or you could just imagine watching ESB Revisited. Movies are just tricks of the light, nothing more.
hmmm. I did think about allowing you to edit and delete comparisons, but I can’t just throw those options on there or anybody who comes to the page to view your comparisons could simply edit or delete it. So then I though some sort of secret “owner identity key” needs to be generated upon creation but then you would need to save that somewhere locally so that you could come back and edit or delete, or perhaps I could tie them to your IP address and/or use a cookie… I’ll think about that. I just don’t want to force users to register, login and remember another password…
EDIT: The bounding box issue should be fixed now though.
I don’t mean that I want to delete comparisons after they’ve been posted, rather it would be nice to be able to delete a link in one of the fields before it is posted.
How do Porgs fly? The Force?
Wings?
The gravity must be a lot lower for those tiny wings to work.
Agreed. Also, I noticed that once I’ve linked a file location, I’m unable to remove the link without starting over. It would be nice if there was an option to delete or manually enter/change a file location.
Also, an aesthetic issue - the bounding boxes for the ‘browse’ buttons are too small, and cut off part of the button.
How do Porgs fly? The Force?
On the one hand, unacceptable behavior by an asshole. On the other hand…

This is the best thing.
It’s obviously a V for Vendetta reference, which means this won’t be out until the 5th of November. Sorry to rain on your parades.
Looking at the lineup, I think I’ve found a better image for Dooku.
I think the yellow really fits AOTC, as moercs has shown.

How it looks in the lineup:
It isn’t quite as close-up as the others, but I don’t think it would work well that way since the chain is so important to his costume.
As for the colors, TPM-Red, AOTC-Yellow, ROTS-Purple (Mace’s Lightsaber), RO-Blue (The cold blue of Eadu), ANH-White, ESB-Black, ROTJ-Green (The natural color for ROTJ), TFA-Orange.
That moment you realize that the worst OT film has more awesome stuff in it than most other film franchises.
The lines of Grevious’s face have the same slant as the rest of the prequel images, so it actually works for me.
Brilliant! Thank you so much for this.
There are those who favor the abolition of all guns in the hands of the public (and I believe–correct me if I’m wrong–that Warbler is part of this crowd)
I’m sure I want a total ban or not. Perhaps a ban on auto and semi-auto rifles might be enough, or maybe a ban on all auto and semi-auto weapons. At the very least, I think a lot more training and psychological testing should be required before being allowed to own firearms. I also think maybe one shouldn’t allowed to own firearms if they live with someone with dangerous mental issues or if they live with someone who has a criminal record.
Screw semi-auto, I’m for a full-on handgun ban. Plus auto and semi-auto. Plus ammunition. Sure it’s unconstitutional, I’m for repeal.
If you want to ban semi-auto’s, then I always press the question of why not just ban handguns too since they kill more people in the U.S. every year than semi’s? I still have not figured out the gun issue and think that there are convincing things on both sides. For one thing, an actually successful eradication of guns from ALL citizens sounds like a utopia. But the point brought up by the pro-gun side of how criminals will still get the guns illegally has always made sense to me. I need to set aside a few days to mull over some research/data and come to a well reasoned conclusion cause I am still absolutely lost on what to think of this issue.
Other countries have much more stringent gun laws than the US. Take Sweden for example:
http://www.sweden.org.za/gun-laws-in-sweden.html
It is considered a privilege to own a gun in Sweden, and to get one you have to have the proper training and follow stringent safety procedures.
I think this is a far more sensible way to move forward on gun control in the US than just banning handguns. The Republican argument is that guns in the hands of responsible citizens are an essential right, and so enforcing training and safe storage standards is fully in line with this right. After all, the right to bear arms is only in the service of a ‘well regulated’ militia.
I feel like this can’t be a good idea. If these companies felt like the fan projects were becoming a problem (for example being sold for profit), I don’t think they would be very discriminating in their retribution. Everyone would be at risk.
Nice! Now I am inspired to try…
Here it is, cobbled together from several sources:

JEDIT: Tweaked the color and saturation:

and here’s the new image alongside CarboniteSolo’s images:
After getting rid of the Stormtrooper, the Vader helmet looks a bit too clean for this set. I wonder if there’s a good photo of the helmet from that angle that we could use instead…

ONLY HUMANS MAKE PREQUEL QUOTE JOKES UNQUOTE
I’m the only non-human who can do it.
There you have it. A great starting point, and many shots look good to go as they are.
It’s amusing to think that JJ (perhaps inadvertently) forced them to go in a creative direction by pushing Luke out of TFA.
JJ: 'Let’s make Luke the mystery box at the end of the film, so he doesn’t suck the attention away from our new characters.'
Rian: ‘Hmm, we need to figure out what awesome secrets this island must hold to draw Luke away from his friends.’
JJ: 'Let’s film on an island with some old stone buildings, that will be cool.'
Rian: ‘Hmm, we need to create some interesting alien caretakers for these buildings, since there’s no way they would have survived this long left to the elements.’
Seems like a question for the staff, but I think that’s a good idea. Ideally it would be stickied.
Looks like someone else went ahead and did it. Hope it gets stickied.
How much more better can this be?
The answer is nun. Nun more better.
Are we talking about the GOUT, Grindhouse, Despecialized, or Blu-ray here?
While we need to do a better job at directing new members towards important information (see here for my suggestion), there will still be the problem of people unwilling/unable to burn the blu-rays and create custom sets. For those people, buying these things may be the only way they get their hands on them. And that’s a big problem.
Any solution not involving money would be quite a hassle, and the best thing I can think of is a system wherein the party requesting the blu-ray would be required to purchase their own blank blu-ray discs and send them in a package containing their copy of the relevant 2011 Blu-ray discs (as proof of purchase) and enough postage for sending it all back.

This is getting to the point where people will just stop making fan projects, if they know that their work will just end up being sold for a profit. I was considering sending a message to that website saying something along these lines:
‘Greetings from a fellow fan of Star Wars. I noticed that you are selling the Despecialized edition of Star Wars version 2.7. I am currently working on an updated color correction, to be used for Despecialized 3.0. It’s been a labor of love, demanding literally hundreds of days of work over the course of several years, and a close collaboration between members of a large and vibrant online community. Our community of faneditors and fan preservationists exists solely because of a culture of trust and goodwill, and the understanding that these projects will not be sold online. However, since I now know that my work will almost certainly be illegally sold for a profit, I have to think very carefully about whether to release my work at all. Your website may very well result in no new Despecialized editions, ever. Understand that when you profit off of our work, you are very effectively destroying both our work and our community. If you are truly a fan of Star Wars, you will take down this website. Thank you.’
