The Last Jedi: Official Review and Opinions Thread ** SPOILERS **

An explanation of how TLJ continues the theme of TFA in being a Star Wars movie about Star Wars.

I agree with him, and think this is the strongest theme running through the trilogy so far. If the ST is ‘about’ anything, it’s about this more than anything else. But that’s also where I have problems with the ST. Even the prequels were about the corruption of the Republic and the fall of Anakin Skywalker. If the ST is an extended exercise in navel-gazing, then it’s like a serpent eating its own tail. Here’s hoping Episode 9 proves me wrong.

Just downloaded it and I’m scanning through.
Was there a reason that the updated X-wing approach shot wasn’t used?

Ugh, are you kidding me? That’d be my bad. I honestly can’t see the difference, even now, so even though I looked at everything, I did not notice anything there. I’m genuinely good with leaving it as is unless you feel like a substantial improvement is being missed out on.

Honestly it’s fine to leave it, I would just put the update in Starlight at some point anyway.

Episode VIII : The Last Jedi - Discussion * SPOILER THREAD *

You mean the visible from everywhere superweapon superbeam that makes planets go boom? The worst bit of that doesn’t exist anymore thanks to Restructured, and for the rest…

shrug

Besides, Starkiller was a one-off dumb thing. Hyperdrives as weapons hurt my brain the same way the implications of the shield/lasgun interaction does in Dune.
