You could ask a mod to move it.
Another idea for the crawl, this time focusing on Finn:
The galaxy stands at the brink.
With the Republic destroyed,
General Leia Organa has fled
into uncharted space with the
last of their once-mighty fleet,
awaiting the return of the
legendary Luke Skywalker.
Feverish from his wounds,
former Stormtrooper Finn
tries in vain to warn Leia
of a hidden peril, claiming
that Snoke’s mighty warship
contains a device which can
track them past the furthest
star.
Disobeying the orders of
his superior, Commander
Poe Dameron has sent Finn
with a medic to Canto Bight,
where a mysterious gambler
may have knowledge of this
insidious device…
What parent hasn’t said ‘I’m going to raise my kids far better than my parents did me’, and then go on to fall back on the only thing they know. And I’d argue Luke wasn’t trained in a different way - he was trained by two very conventional Jedi. His atypical behavior in ROTJ was in spite of his mentors, not because of them.
Further thoughts on changing The Force Awakens to serve TLJ, I could place some of the footage of the Raddus going to hyperspace into the destruction of the Hosnian system.
It might be going too far to show Holdo staring out of the window at the approaching lasers, but even placing the TLJ ships in the distance going to hyperspace in this shot would help.
If we see Holdo in this sequence, then the only dialogue necessary for the previous scene would be ‘General, the Republic is scrambling the fleet to assist us’.
Have you considered extending Rey’s force vision which she gets after picking up the Lightsaber? In the novelization, it was suppose to start with Rey seeing from a distance Luke and Vader’s Bespin duel, and you can see remnants of that with the collapsing hallway in the vision which is the Bespin Cloud City Hallway. It’d be kind of interesting if you could somehow work that back in.
I don’t think adding the duel would add anything to the story that we haven’t already seen.
Rey’s Force Vision makes even less sense with the context of The Last Jedi, but I wouldn’t know where to begin in changing that. It’s probably best to wait until Episode 9 before messing with that part.
I imagine that dying gives a person a great deal of perspective on things, so that when one would normally interfere with the events of the galaxy instead there’s a case of extreme passivity and letting things be. Yoda didn’t destroy anything except a rotting stump, and only because he knew that Luke needed to get beyond his hatred of Jedi dogma. He probably didn’t even change history, since Luke was about to burn it down anyway.
It was little more than a mischievous trick, totally in keeping with the slightly crazy second most powerful Jedi in the galaxy.

It’s so clear now. This is Yoda as he looked when he was young, thus finally putting to rest the age/old debate about Christensen vs Shaw. Deal with it, OT sticklers 😉
Ambitious project! But shouldn’t this be in the writing subforum?
I have mixed feelings on the Canto Bight music: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N8ue_5T4fMk&feature=youtu.be&t=35s
It’s like Mos Eisley cantina meets 1930s Tropicana.
If Danny Elfman can use it, so can John Williams!

A fine tune from the Wurtz guy on YouTube.
an overcomplicated and dull political ‘thriller’.
I think you’re confusing this with Attack of the Clones.
I’d happily watch a movie where Jackie Chan avenges the death of his daughter who happened to be on the landing pad at the beginning of AOTC.
Thanks.

An explanation of how TLJ continues the theme of TFA in being a Star Wars movie about Star Wars.
I agree with him, and think this is the strongest theme running through the trilogy so far. If the ST is ‘about’ anything, it’s about this more than anything else. But that’s also where I have problems with the ST. Even the prequels were about the corruption of the Republic and the fall of Anakin Skywalker. If the ST is an extended exercise in navel-gazing, then it’s like a serpent eating its own tail. Here’s hoping Episode 9 proves me wrong.
The Foreigner (2017)
This is two movies. One is an engaging story of revenge through the eyes of Jackie Chan, the other is an overcomplicated and dull political ‘thriller’. Too bad that Chan is basically a side character who could be removed from the plot with no repercussions.
What a waste.
So when he says he came here to die, I assume he’s saying that even the afterlife sucks.
Who says Star Wars is uninteresting?
I’m with you too.
TLJ Spoilers

Star Wars (1977)
Concluded I’ve been lying all these years I’ve been telling people The Empire Strikes Back is my favorite Star Wars movie. Peer pressure, I guess. I’m just so happy when I’m watching the one that started it all!
This one sees the truth!
Just downloaded it and I’m scanning through.
Was there a reason that the updated X-wing approach shot wasn’t used?Ugh, are you kidding me? That’d be my bad. I honestly can’t see the difference, even now, so even though I looked at everything, I did not notice anything there. I’m genuinely good with leaving it as is unless you feel like a substantial improvement is being missed out on.
Honestly it’s fine to leave it, I would just put the update in Starlight at some point anyway.

the biggest franchise of the last 100 years is probably McDonald’s.
Every post is so dense, there’s so much going on.
I’d have Leia die in the bridge explosion and remove her from the rest of the film. I’d remove Yoda. I’d have Luke burn the tree. Sensing Leia’s death would prompt Luke to confront Ren.
That’s dark, man.
Let’s say I have the SE DVDs, but not the Blu-Ray. Am I still eligible to watch Harmy’s DE? It’s an official release, but not the source.
Nope.
If they release a 4K version this year, will we all need to buy that in order to continue to have the DEs?
