Now I've chosen to be offended by Telly's Savalas using the b-word! Shall it never end?!
Now I've chosen to be offended by Telly's Savalas using the b-word! Shall it never end?!
This wanton usage of the insulting b-word shall not go unpunished, I tell you!

I'm chosing to be offended
Ha ha!!
I think you should give Ric a citation!
The specials were meh, but I enjoyed it just because we got to see a bit of Matt Smith at the end, whom I've already taken a liking to. I think he'll do a fine job.
To be honest though, I kind of wish that they would go back to having older Doctors, mainly because I'm a huge fan of James Nesbitt and I think he'd make a killer Doctor:
(I say this mainly because I loved "Jekyll", and when they announced Moffat would be taking over Doctor Who I was kind of hoping for James Nesbitt to pair up with him again. :P )
Also think about the fact that our preferred method of arithmetic is in base ten, because our species first learned to count with our fingers...all ten of them.
Well sir, speaking of delicious food, I live in Alabama, which means I live right smack in the middle of barbecue country. There are a lot of things about Alabama that I dislike, but that isn't one of them. Mmmm....

Wow, do I really have to list every bullet point I disagree with? Because there's a lot.
I certainly have given her an opportunity. You say she is very intelligent and you would vote for her. Why? I'm being completely sincere here: what has she done that has made you think this? Point me towards anything that will improve my view of Palin, anything at all. I SWEAR I will give it a chance.
(For the record, I have no party affiliation, in case my previous posts have suggested otherwise. Although a lot of times it seems like I fall to the left, that's really only socially; economically I'm actually quite conservative. So whenever I take little internet political quizzes, the two balance each other out and I always get called a centrist :P )
Edit: Edited my previous post instead.

Textbook sexism. If Sarah Palin weren't female she wouldn't get the degree or sort of attacks that she does. Dismissing her as nothing like the above post does is falling into the classic sexist pattern of dismissing women as being nothings who are utterly dependent on men and have nothing to offer themselves. Sarah Palin is a hugely capable woman and only prejudice, whether political or gender-based, prevents people from seeing that. That is not to say I agree with her views. But I have no trouble seeing the ability and force of the woman.
If Sarah Palin weren't female, I'd be saying the exact same thing, but you wouldn't be able to accuse me of sexism. I don't give a shit what reproductive organs she has, I don't take her seriously because she's a moron. Only ignorance causes you to assume that the only reason people could possibly disapprove of her is because of something as petty as gender difference.
You're guilty of the exact same thing as every two-bit TV pundit from Beck to Olbermann, from O'Reilly to Maddow, which is trying to dismiss someone's opinion by affixing a label to it in order to diminish it's over-all value. Responding to someone's idea by saying "That's just 'cause you're sexist", or "Cause she's a woman", or "Because he's a liberal!", "Because he's a Republican!", or any other bullshit like that is not a debate or a reasoned reply; it's an ad hominem argument and it makes you look like a fool.
Now go the fuck back to bed. Adults are talking.

But Palin said, "I can see RUSSIA from MyyYYyyy HoUsE!!!" Didn't she? What. An. Idiot!
No, wait... She said, "They're our next-door neighbors and you can actually see Russia from land here in Alaska -- from an island in Alaska."
SNL said that other thing... but somehow everyone came away saying "What an idiot!" about the real Palin.
So, yeah... I blame SNL. They set out to politically assassinate Palin which they did quite well.
SNL didn't really have to do anything to politically assassinate Palin. That interview with Couric was a disaster.
In case anyone needs reminding: Sarah Palin's Greatest Hits
(by the way, does anyone else find any similarities between her and David Brent? Not looks, obviously :P )
Sarah Palin is nothing but a trained monkey. The higher-ups in the Republican Party train her these standard speeches and responses to questions, and she repeats them on national television. She rattles off these speeches but when you look in her eyes it's like she doesn't really understand the words that are coming out of her mouth.
My high school math teacher sold a bunch of her old vinyls one day, including that Star Wars LP, which I acquired. :D
Not only did it look brand new, but it also contained the original poster, info sheet, and T-shirt order form!
Both of the Zelda games for the N64, thanks to these creepy motherfuckers:

Since when did I ever have "immature lowdown behavior" toward you? I don't recall ever having spoken to you at all until just now, which is why I thought it was odd that I'd somehow made your ignore list for no apparent reason.
Not that it appears to have been any loss on my part, from the looks of things.
I find it hard to believe you don't remember posting this post:

Joining in in the general personal attacking and ganging up that was directed at me because I dared to post a thread that wasn't being thrilled about the new live action show. Your contribution was childish mockery and personally insulting. It was low down. It marked you out as troublemaker without scruples. As such, I came to the conclusion that you weren't worth having anything to do with. So I put you on ignore. No loss on my part.
Wow, you got that offended over just one humorous photo that was meant to just wind you up a little? Then you're really not gonna like this

They provide 2D showings for most-if-not-all. If you don't like it, don't take it away from those of us who enjoy it.
Hear hear.
I saw Toy Story 1 & 2 and "Up!" in 3D, and they both looked fantastic. 3D technology sure has come a long way since I saw some 3D Imax movie in the 90s.

You know what's great? VINH has me on ignore, so I can slag him off as much as I want and he'll never know! :D
Being a student at the University of Alabama for two and a half years has made me loathe college football and the whole stupid subculture it perpetuates, at least down here anyway.

Nanner- I'm afraid you've opened a door here we're going to be hard pressed to close.
Although I'm not sure it entirely fits your description, I highly recommend Ender's Game.

Sorry, is English your first language? Because if so, you have some of the damnedest posts ever.
Which is not an insult, I promise. :P
Actually I think I'm one of the oldest members of the real face club (check my user profile; that picture's been there for ages).
No, the man in my avatar is the one and only Karl Pilkington.
