Discussion of the various legal implications of firing Mueller.

With the world’s unhappiest conclusion IMO.

But I predict it would not come to that. If the crazy scenario that got me to this point in the hypothetical decision chain materializes, Congress would rise up quickly to stop the President, and the pressure on the cabinet would be enormous as well. If I am naive in thinking this, then we are indeed in trouble.

Emphasis mine.

Good article but I don’t think any scenario painted by the author is so dire. Political ramifications are huge. Democrats will benefit greatly in the midterms if Mueller is fired.

Officials were so concerned about the mental stability of the student accused of last month’s Florida school massacre that they decided he should be forcibly committed.

But the recommendation was never acted upon.

A commitment under the law would have made it more difficult if not impossible for Nikolas Cruz to obtain a gun legally.

Forum moderators should treat every one the same, show no favorites and not let their political leanings cloud their judgement. Just a random thought I had about forum moderators in general on any forum, not anyone specific.

.

not sure what that is supposed to mean.

I think that’s an upvote.

Which I have also done on Harmy’s video.

These random shootings are getting too close to home for me. I was at the Oaks mall just last month. Used to go there quite often with my Mom in the old days. I doubt anybody I know was involved.

That the usual idiots on twitter are already twisting this by drawing comparison to the Florida bridge collapse, (saying bridges kill more people than guns) makes me ill.

Agreed. An intentional killing is different from deaths caused by negligence. Not every death is a political issue either.

If you were going to make a Film or Films. What Aspect ratio, Lens, Camera, Genre, Style, etc. Would you use. Thread

I would have to decide on the aspect ratio depending on the tone and visual scope of the film. That’s the sort of thing where I have no preference in particular.

I would want to reach every genre and style of the films I love eventually. Nothing specific that takes my interest over others.

EDIT: Not responding to above post.

Smart man. The thought of making a film is so daunting I admire the gumption of any of you to actually do it, whatever your background/identity.

I think if I were to make a movie, I think I’d to make it with old technology. Make it exactly the same way they did in the 30’s, 40’s, or 50’s. I don’t know it would be in glorious black and white or three-strip technicolor(and I don’t mean a digital re-creation, I mean the real thing). I wouldn’t want to use any newer technologies, or techniques. I would want it to be as old fashion as possible.

I too like to spend unnecessarily excessive amounts of money and do things as inconveniently as possible to get similar results.

I imagine it’d be tricky getting ahold of usuable '30s-'50s film stock, and processing equipment from those decades probably doesn’t exist anymore.

make new '30s-'50s film stock.

That’s like asking for new antiques.

make new processing equipment that is exactly the same as the old.

Ridiculous. Soon you’ll be asking for new releases on LaserDisc.

I just want a new movie made exactly the same way movies used to be made.

So entirely by white men. Gotcha.

Go watch more Star Wars.

Which Star Wars.

One made by white men.

Also, you’re missing a semicolon.

I am having difficulty thinking of how more information could change how this looks. But I am always willing to listen more information and will not accuse you of standing up for the school or accuse you of sticking your fingers in your ears until you hear one nugget of fact that supports the possibility that they did no wrong.

More people should appreciate that about you. I can’t help but tease. It sounds like this “swatting” was mild, conducted with oversight, and approved by the parents (and the student has no problem with it) so while surprising I’m not outraged. Also, I’m not against spanking in principle, such as when done by parents, but I don’t see the value when done by principal or teacher.

Working for the White House does look good on one’s resume (more prestige than just getting a job somewhere because your were a friend of the owner’s family), and as a public servant you could do things like, whether you agreed with the administration’s decisions or not, you could make sure they were using good, accurate data upon which to base those decisions, etc.

At least that’s how it used to work.

Now… wear a wire. Not to convict anyone, but to ensure you don’t take the fall.

At least anything I would get would be low level, unless they run out of people. I don’t know if good accurate data will hold much power over the next several decades.
