Yeah, those are placeholder. I just wanted to show that if you leave the music sting as-is, there should be some sounds of the ship taking off during the last Kylo closeup to help ease the passage of time between cuts. Alternatively, you could tweak and extend the music. I’m not sure which would be better.

I actually think the ties would be coming from camera left on the last shot. This is based on where Poe points and where Finn looks as he runs back towards the ship. In any case, this is what we could do with the available material. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I think it’s a great scene you’ve made. I’m just used to being scrutinized for every detail.

The way I’ve used it is to have the acapella intro and stretched the scene by having the Sith stand up (first shot in reverse), pan to wideshot and then sit back down. It works great for that segment.

Yeah, I found that typing the same line 3 times reduces it but it still kicks in very quickly after a few works.

I may try find voice actors but I’m hoping I can at least cut each work for a sentence like I’m doing for Luke & Leia’s farewell scene.

I liked the added palpatine dialogue at the start and I really liked how you moved the chess game to the end and Rey’s emotions “skywalker” line. It think that really works in your cut.

I HATE how Finn is such a sadist, klaud is useless and how Poe says sorry to Chewie, so I made around 50 more cuts just in the first 15 minutes than you did to fix these.

Are you adding a Coruscant scene anywhere? Other than the new end clip.

@kewlfish while I totally agree with you on this point when it comes to most of the other movies, I feel TROS and TLJ needed some heady handed reworking to put right. If only we had delete TROS scenes but saying that I think every one has done a Stirling job at recreating amazing new ones. 😃

I’ve just finished watching the workprint. I hope this doesn’t sound bad as I know how much work you’ve put into it and I mean this with respect but I feel it’s extremely conservative and too close to the original.

I’m not a fan of Rey being a Palpatine or a Skywalker (without reason) and I feel Ben really needs to stay alive so Leia actually changes his destiny and her vision. Without this I just feel she added to his death rather than trying to save him.

I honestly don’t think this scene should be here seeing as all supreme leader ships are prototypes. This just pops back in the next scene.

I hated The Medallion but I couldn’t find a way of taking it out without it seeming like they just flew on board with no resistance.

If anyone wants to use this I’ve just hand painted each blue blast frame yellow for the Mustafar scene just to get them to match, with help from kewlfish with colour balance.

Not that I remember, He was in a generals uniform not a stormtrooper in TLJ? I just think that would have suited that story better rather than just walking straight in with barely an issue. Captain’s medallion was bad enough.

It frustrated the hell out of me that they didn’t allow Finn to go full circle and to dress as Stormtrooper when they storm Kylos ship. I think they would’ve actually echoed ANH and actually worked with the storyline much better than everyone just walking around without triggering any alarm etc.

I didn’t know about the other Finn storyline. They would’ve been awful!
