I love these. There was a grey Rey from the bottom left too.

I understand the sentimentality of keeping the hairstyle her mum gave her before she left but come on! Any sign of maturity or progression would’ve been nice. I guess Kylo had his flowing locks so they didn’t want a hair clash lol

Here’s all the footage I had from the original Idir sent me. Lilian did the colouration, Kewlfish helped me change the blue to yellow and I hand painted each blast.

Nice find! That second video has some great shots. Not sure the first one is useable though. I looked everywhere for a shot of the back of Kylo’s head.

I honestly think it would work really well the the nightmare reality would be changing all the amazing fan edit scenes, mainly from Jonh and Poppasketti. 😥

I don’t like the over the top blue planet look, but I agree with others who say that there’s already Korriban as a red Sith planet.
If someone doesn’t like that blue tone, I think the only solution is to change Exegol into a dark, black/grey planet.

I love the red. It seems to really pull out the depth and detail in each scene much better. Really nice work.

Poppa, Does Kylo need to be in the frame from the start? I find him distracting. What if he’s barely in frame at the start so the focus is on the ship and then he slightly comes into frame by the end? I just think that having him dominate the screen detracts from the small ship taking off which seems to be the point of this clip.

The prop mechanics on BB8 need to be removed without cropping the frame in any way.

D-0S Prop pole that pulls and pushed him along needs to do the same without cropping.

They’re fairly quick and easy fixes if you can track the background. I can Photoshop the holding frames if that helps?

Much appreciated. When I looked through earlier it seemed like the dialogue was going to be hopelessly mixed with the blaster sounds. If I can’t get it myself I’ll ask for audio maybe.

Anyone already have any good metal clink sounds? Right now Poe’s flashlight makes no sound as he tosses and catches it since I’m trying to keep the full shot while removing the beginning of the conversation at the end.

I cut just before Poe raises his flashlight. It was just too corny for my taste.

I removed it as well very seamlessly. I’m exporting a Workprint ver B at the moment. But tomorrow I can post the clip.
EDIT: Nevermind. I cut at the same spot Movies Remastered did. And I see he already posted a clip. Unfortunately it is not feasible to keep any of the banter.

I can only upload 480p as my internet speeds are snail’s pace so I’m sure Hal would appreciate a 1080p version when you can.

I find it hard to believe that Poe would start a chit chat with Finn as they’re about to be shot so I’ve removed that, Hux saying “I’m the Spy” and Finn saying “No you did not!”

With all of Reys new powers, it would’ve been easy for her lift everyone out the quicksand so I’ve had to speed this scene up so it happens too fast for her to think.

Yeah, it was tricky af but if you cut just after Poe looks at Finn, cut to his lifting the gun, cut back to Finn and Poe looking forward it works pretty well. I’ve also removed “I’m the spy” and Finn saying “no you did Not!”

I can try and upload a 480p clip if it helps but it may take a while?

Ochi’s ship is not a model in this case, it’s actually the footage of it from Rey’s visions. This makes it harder to change the flight path, though maybe adjusting the smoke path (which is added) can help. I can also add some rotational motion at the very least to the ship.

Kylo moves so much, because if you look at the ground, the camera is moving left. If Kylo was really in the foreground, and the camera moving so laterally, Kylo should actually be moving a lot. Nevertheless, I could try to reduce it.

Have you thought about adding a single ground frame to reduce the movement of the camera? I’m only viewing on my phone but it just looks like the rocks on the right that give it the faster pace. If is was all sand maybe it wouldn’t need so much tracking with kylo? If that makes sense.

I think it’s a great scene but it seems weird that an out of focus kylo would move to centre frame. Is there any way just to keep him on the left with a slight movement?

I’d be okay with removing the confession thing as long as it’s reference underneath the sand can be handled in a way that is not jarring. Cutting abruptly to Poe leading the way with the flashlight is.

If you cut just after Rey ignites her saber and then go straight to Poe and 3PO talking about the tunnels it takes out that whole “What was you going to tell me…?” line

When Jannah talks about their mutiny, she calls it “a feeling” while the force theme plays and the shot places emphasis on that line, then Finn starts telling her about how the Force made it happen and brought them to that point.

Then with the command ship it’s the same theme, and she asks how he knows, and the music stops and he says “a feeling” again. It’s a very blatant callback, the only way to make it more obvious is for him to declare “the Force is guiding me!” Him sensing Rey’s death is just more evidence on top of that.

It’s as clear as day, no idea why so many people thank it’s about “His love for Rey” There hasn’t been any real sign of that since TFA.

The way I cut it was to use the 4 beat clean music clip from the opening segment over Finn’s line and overlay it with a cutaway to BB8 using the desert scene from TFA when he first meets Rey.

Yeah it was actually a little involved getting rid of that line and making everything else work. The problem is as he’s walking by he’s clearly moving his mouth as he says the line. I ended up having to foley in some more canister whooshing sounds and move one of Poe’s lines.

I’m glad you’re on the same page. I’m getting nervous about my release as I’ve seriously hacked every single scene to an inch of its life. 🤣

27. Cut Rey greeting Finn and Rey’s extended argument with Poe over lightspeed skipping. This removes Finn’s sassy-pants line “always” referring to Poe being in a bad mood as well as Finn’s eye rolls, huffing, and acting like a sassy mother hen.
28. Cut Finn’s useless line, “It’s true” to Rey after Poe storms off.
29. Cut Finn’s useless line, “I’ve never seen so few Wayfinders” to depict him as more wise than wisecracking.
30. Cut Finn’s prolonged glancing at the rope before he throws it at the Stormtrooper speeder bike. This was overly showing us “hey look Finn’s getting an idea.”
31. As Finn is sinking into the sand, cut his line about telling Rey something.
32. Cut Rey and Finn’s conversation about the secret he had to tell her.
33. The final briefing ends with Poe speaking, cutting Finn’s lackluster line about taking the war to them.
34. Cut Finn’s lines, “Lando you did it. YOU DIIIIID IT!!!”
35. Trimmed Finn and Jannah running on top of Falcon mid-flight so they don’t ridiculously pause to sightsee the destruction around them.
36. Cut Finn’s line about everyone in the galaxy rising. Too little too late Finn.
