Awesome. I’m in no rush to finish this project so anytime is good.

I looked through hours of footage to find a more suitable burning Forrest but it became too depressing.

I love the shot, man. That’s for doing the reformation animation for me. It works perfectly.

What program did you use for the ties? Would you be interested in working with me on other short scenes?

I thought I’d explain what a complete nightmare I’ve had with this project the past few months after a corrupt source file. Hopefully, it’s all fixed now but it’s nice to see how far my skills have come since starting this edit with barely any. I apprecaite those who have not allowed me to give up on this…

I’ve just got two new contract for work so I’m a little short of free time for the next month but if you PM me these links or the dimension I’ll try to finish when I can.

Also if you have the image idea, blurb or text you want on the back that would help.

My Vader mask scene is the opening act so I managed to have the Tie Fighter passing sound fade out while I slowly faded in the mask reveal. I think the same thing will work for your edit.

Thanks, Man. Not sure if you saw my update video on this scene but I re-edited a lot of it too. I really like the castle addition in your version. I’ve actually just found some new footage I’m going to play around with and try to get the castle in at another angle. I chose to cut the extra lava scenes as I left they didn’t really fit in with the other footage as well.

I’m always open to seeing other people’s ideas and vision though, so please let me know if you have any other scenes on the working.

Really good work on this version. Vast improvement from the last one I saw.

Bear in mind I was only able to stream it in stereo, here are a few changes I would suggest…

Overall volume was really quiet. My Mac was maxed out but still quiet.

Last section of the crawl text seems to change speed before the fade?

Weird orchestral stab just before we see vaders mask. I managed to mute the score and fade in the sound fx to make it a smoother transition.

There’s a jarring cut between both shots of everyone running in the desert.

Kylo Rens voice fx on “you were right” sounds a little tinny and heavy ringing compared to the original audio.

LOVED THE 3PO LINES ❤

I’m not sure if Lucas did it but I usually use a directional wipe between scenes so the clip from Finn or Ewoks would go in the direction as the falcon, maybe?

LUT on “Endor” seems to overly wash out the sky.

KoR used the “traitor” clip twice.

Very minor changes but not to detract from the huge amount of work everyone has put in on this project. Firm handshakes all round. 👏

I actually wanted to film a Rey building her Saber scene and have her merge Luke and Leia’s kyber crystals to make her own colour but couldn’t decide on with mix would work best.

Being colourblind tjat whole scene is a nightmare for me to edit. I’m really debating whether I should use the purple lightsaber scene, because I can’t see the colour haha.

For some reason the Gray LUT really allows me to see so much more detail and depth within those scene so I definately think a more natural post Palp pallet could be used. Thanks for you feedback.

I think that could be a cool idea, but if it’s only restored to blue, I don’t know how much you’ll feel the impact of that. The blue almost feels less natural to me, I feel like the blue fading into more natural stone colours, be that the grey or into warmer tones, would give that effect more. Even if you start with grey and go into warmer natural stone colours. Blue is the least natural for stone or nature though, to the point that it’s wondered if humans could even see the colour blue for most of history.

Yeah, I’m trying to avoid the original colour but bring back a more suitable tint. Watching the scene back in thinking of doing after Rey’s resurrection instead, kinda representing the balance returning maybe?

I’m also going for the Gray look for Exegol but was thinking of restoring the colour after Palptines death, kinda showing the dark side was stripping all light and colour from Exegol. What are your thoughts on this idea?

Regardless of the technical set back, how far are you from completion? What’s the up to date workprint number?

Does the SSD power on but just doesn’t read? I think formatting could be a good start. Are you upgrading to high Sierra? I’ve just had a nightnare trying yo find links to it as I think Apple has hidden it from app store. Sierra screwed up my computer and made it incredibly slow.

And it seems like I’m going to need to order an NVMe usb enclosure since my Mac isn’t seeing the new SSD at all. The internet suggests I can format it and install my OS using an enclosure before installing it into the machine itself. So that’ll probably add a week waiting for that.

I wish i lived closer. I just had to do the sane with my Mac. I hope you didn’t get a 2011-13 model? Mine fried itself but to bad solder in those machines motherboards.

Kewlfish, I’m trying to catch up but I think some people are requesting the central wave Saber effect that you accidently did when Finn was holding the Saber in the cave on the last few frames?

I really like the original. The alternative seems a little more pixilated rather than the actual crackle effect. (Am viewing on a phone).

I agree with adding the Saber splitting clip in a flashback.
