Adobe Media Encoder won’t even open for me now. definitely something weird going on 😦

27in iMac 3.1 GHz Intel Core i5

I’ll be looking to upgrade to a Mac mini next year. Their new machines are pretty awesome and great at running 4k but I’m stuck with this for now until I can work again.

I’ve got an AMD Radeon HD 6970M and 21GB set with 3GB for other tasks.

I’m running High Sierra on a mid-2011 model. Everything has been rendering fine until this one. I can’t work it out.

I’ve tried several but H264 - Mobile Device 480p SD Wide, 884MB

How do I find bit rate?

24GB RAM

Is there VRAM on Mac?

I’m really new to exporting but all my old settings never took this long. It does keep saying "conforming file… at the bottom. It’s never done that before either.

I’m with JakeRyan17 on most of this.

There’s a lot to catch up on but changing Rey using a mind trick on the stormtrooper to escape and eliminating most of the fight with Kylo, leaving it to just one force/lucky/rage blow and having the ground open up straight away taking away her standing over a “defeated” Kylo removes any “mary sue” feel she has, imo. Her linguistics and piloting skills was believable for me but trimming down her abilities in TFA gives her more of an arc leading into TLJ and TROS. In fact, I’ve made her even stronger in TROS because we’ve already seen her do so much by the time she’s on DSII.

On another note:

I’m trying to export my cut in Premiere Pro but even at 480p sd, it’s saying 27 hours to render. My computer has suffered some serious issues lately but can anyone give me a clue as to why this is happening? It used to take around 2 hours but this is a joke!

A lot of dialogue in the scene felt very fan edity and unearned. Of course Finn also had to show another name to because that’s all his character has been reduced to.

There are some really cool elements to the new force ghost scene i.e. Yoda and Qui-Gon but Anakin’s deepfake was a little too much for me. There’s clearly a lot of working going into these new scenes so I’ll look forward to seeing what else he comes up with.

Luka, Those scenes look amazing, mate. Really well done on finishing these.

She does one luck strike before the ground opens up. Both Finn & Rey never get a swing in.

I’ve tried to make a cohesive trilogy but making Rey less of a Mary Sue in TFA, Both she and Finn get beaten badly by Kylo and their first face to face battle is in TROS. I’ve tried to link TLJ and TROS as much as possible but removing the “undone” moments in TROS and tried to add more seeds to TROS in TLJ.

I seem to be one of the only people that like the fact Luke became a hermit like Obi-wan. He’s a broken man after watching everything burn. It seems even more poignant with the end of The Mandalorian now.

Im gonna hold judgement until the full scene is released. Jonh you version is incredible, subtle and to this point but I understand you’re your own worst critic 😉

that sounds awesome! Could I possibly PM you for some advice/suggestions for doing fan edits? I’m a newbie, and just wanted to make my own “version” just for myself but am a little bit lost. I’ve watched your tutorial, but have a couple more questions.

Will The Last Hope be in 4K HDR by any chance? Sorry if i’m a bugger on that, its just my little obsession hah

Sure, if I’ve already done a tutorial on it then ask me questions on that video so others can see, if not then PM me. I’m crazy busy atm so I’ll reply when I can.

It was going to be 4k but for some reason the HDR goes all weird when converted to Mp4. No idea why but if I can fix that or get a 4k mp4 file then I will try again.

I’ve just got some amazing 7.1 surround headphones so I’m just tweaking audio in places.

I can’t leave scenes alone so I’m just reworking some extra scenes using 5 different planets including Coruscant. Added a quick clip to my new Kenobi video.

I may leave the ambitious scenes of Rey building a lightsaber. But I’d like to try and get Ben’s boots following Rey for the end shot some how.

Other than that it’s all in the hands of other VFX artists that mostly involve colour as I’m colourblind and can’t finish them myself.

I finished Exagol a while ago but I’ve restructured the entire ending so It’s tricky to explain or upload the whole 47 minutes. It’s pretty awesome now though. It has a lot more weight and tension at the fact they could lose and the cavalry doesn’t come in until the last minute.

I’m not sure I’ve seen that deleted pan shot. Are you referring to the one Hal used? If not, do you have a link?

Ah yes! I did try to add that footage but I couldn’t get it to sit properly alongside the other edits I’ve done. I may give it another go once I narrow it down to the final cut but I’ve got a lot of audio tweaks to do before then.

Great images. I wish we got to see more of the cavalry ships from different angles at the end. It baffles me that they made so many models but failed to show them off.

The empire was evil - the people fighting for it were likely culpable. But the element of recruiting child soldiers in the ST really makes me feel bad for the Stormtroopers and Officers who are killed.

I agree. I’ve tried to reduce the killing of troopers, especially Finn killing them from the trilogy as much as I could.

Agreed that the end scene would work amazingly to finally show a visual arch of her character and give a call back.

Incredible tracking work but I could barely notice and crackling. Can you up the effect and make it a little more random?

I spoke to Kewfish last week and he does intend to finish all scenes when he can.

Nice work Luka. That scene in particular annoyed me due to the Saber length constantly changing. Are you able to do anything about that ? I’m looking forward to doing the audio for these scenes.

Well, no one can say you’re not a man driven by passion. It’s utterly inspiring to see the lengths you’re going to make these edits. Your editions are my first goto for the OT and I can’t wait to see your results for RotJ.
