I’ve spent all day getting the logo to separate properly but I wrecked my back over Christmas so the rest will take a while.

I did see a fairly simple tutorial on YouTube using a fake 3d text which I’ll probably end up using that if no one’s done it before.

Wow! If people are okay with providing deepfakes for fan edits, that would be quite amazing. Like what he did in fixing Tarkin and Leia in Rogue One.

Why so against giving Leia’s colour the colour Carrie Fisher desired while also making it distinct from the other lightsaber being used in the scene (which helps show/emphasise that Ben uses his grandfather’s saber)?

I get not having all the ghosts in the climax… but taking Ben out of the final ghost scene was a big issue for me personally. It felt dismissive of his character arc and Rey’s as well for that matter.

Just curious to hear your reasoning.

actually the more i think about it the more im alright with the lightsaber, but i would like to ghosts removed, especially Ben’s. Simply because we don’t know what they might do in the future with him.

Well, I’m my cut Ben is still alive but in canon he’s dead dead so why not have a force ghost?

There isn’t any that really warrant the castle in other scenes but this one would be perfect.

If I’m gonna nitpick badly I’d say those small black dots are supposed to be flying ships on Coruscant but they’re stagnant. You could just clone stamp them out of the clean plate or I’ve rendered a clean shot from Episode III if it would help?

I’ve shot many weapons for the first time and been pretty accurate after calibration. You don’t need the force to do that, not unless I’m now a Jedi without knowing It?

I’m not sure what you mean by your Kylo point. He’s trained. Of course he’s gonna block her shots. He could even freeze them in space if he desired. He’s just playing with her which makes his character even more fun at that point.

I’m my cut Finn gets owned after 3 blows and Rey’s one strike that gives Kylo the scar leaves it down to either the force or just adrenaline that catches Kylo off guard. Having it like that makes the audience question the moment rather than just seeing a payoff with her pacing over him.

She doesn’t really show that many abilities other than being a good pilot and helping fix things.

I kinda wish they pushed that part of her character more. She’s always finding solutions and fixing stuff before having force skills. I think that would’ve made her earn the respect more at the start rather than just being good at everything.

Yeah, I checked last night and most of it is consistent with Kewlfish. I haven’t seen you Zorri scene yet but I loved the flow of Kewlfish version. I’m not sure which scene a he finished but the mock up was excellent.

Also, what setting are you using to render out? The files seem extremely small and slightly pixilated.

Yeah, I always try to work on the original and then people can add the LUT if they’d like.

AF doesn’t really cross over versions well from my experience. I’d love to give it a try to see behind the scenes.

Did anyone manage the edit out that awful guard swinging over Rey’s head in the opening fight scene of TLJ?

I’m gonna revisit it and maybe do a cut away but it’s such a bad take I’m surprised it made it in the movie.

Two of my VFX guys have Covid so I wanna lighten the load a bit but I can’t finish my new Mustafar scene. I’ve content filled the establishing planet shot but I’m looking to add 3 Tie fighters to a 3-second clip.

Yeah, After losing everything 2 months ago I now run 2 backup drives. I’ll leave it for now and just do a 24 hour render once the final cut is finished. Appreciate the help.

Adobe Media Encoder won’t even open for me now. definitely something weird going on 😦

27in iMac 3.1 GHz Intel Core i5

I’ll be looking to upgrade to a Mac mini next year. Their new machines are pretty awesome and great at running 4k but I’m stuck with this for now until I can work again.
