That’s a good idea about it dimming or flickering. That’ll be much easier to execute.

Removing kylo from the desert scene.

5 new planet scenes.

Finishing Palpatines message scene.

Final 3 end clips that are proving to be more complicated that I’d hoped.

Changing Poes shirt to a jumpsuit orange for end sequence.

Potentially having Lando at Leia’s death bed to replace his weird scene with Jannah.

Malfunctioning Saber effect on death star II.

Maybe a new opening scene with star destroyer heading to Mustafar.

Composition shot of Star Destroyers attacking Coruscant.

Shooting new scene of Ben holding Han’s dice.

Maybe shoot a new scene of Rey building her own Saber (Covid stopped filming)

Removing Luke’s hair blowing in the wind.

Exactly! I think doing it too many times would be unnecessary. Just a quick scene to indicate there is something wrong. I Feel sound will play a big part in that clip as well though.

Those are similar to where we thought on the redux thread but the touble is, it’s a nightmare to remove the Saber glow from most of the fight scene because of how it reflects in the enviroment and the pattern of the rain fall. It’s why I was going to create a completely new shot just after she does the flip. It gives me around 4 seconds of her trying to reignite the Saber before Kylo enters the scene. It’s more how it should malfunction at this point I.e. spark? Half ignite? Have various energy type flickers or just quickly turn on and off a few times as she struggles pressing the “on switch”?

Please include this! It makes Rey burying them at the end make so much more sense. They served their purpose and now she has her own path. If we really want to try something cool… when Rey ignites her saber there is a green and blue color during the ignition. Can the green be recolored to purple? Implying both sabers broke and Rey used the Kyber Crystals to make her own lightsaber with them would help sell Rey Skywalker more, at least for me.

Before Covid hit I did plan to shoot a new scene where Rey builds her Saber much like Luke’s deleted scene from OT and have her merge both Luke & Leia’s Krystals to make her colour, which would’ve been a pinky violet.

MR, do you plan to add Rey’s saber crapping out on her at the end of the DSII duel? If so, that seems like a natural buildup to this moment. Also, have you done an audio component to this change?

Thanks. I Have, it took me ages to view a bunch of different sounds but I went with welders sparks in the end. I still need to deepen and delay the sound to match the echo of that clip though.

Yes, I intend to use the clip from the desert before she jumps Kylos ship. I’ve removed that scene so it should work well. Just trying to finish other clips before starting more. I’ll post some test shots when I do them. Would be good to get some ideas of how it should malfunction at that moment?

I agree! I just feel those few early shots of Rey’s close-up need to be a little darker in the corners, and the Porg white light changed to a more orange tone to indicate the light coming from the fire and not the Sun.

My first thought would be, If the deleted scene of Rey running to the village is added to TLJ would that be considered “lesson 3”?

I also like how Luke interrupts Rey. It matches Luke’s attitude in TLJ. I also like 4.

P.S. I cut the “It was fear that kept me here”. line from Luke as I felt it contradicted the “Fear is the destiny of a Jedi” line.

This has been in the back of my mind for ages. Could it be that the water is discoloured so it changes the reflection?

I just found out a number of parents had an issue with “3PO, move your metal ass!” I did find that a little harsh for a kids movie so I’ve changed it to “3PO, NOW!”. Let me know if you wanna use it?
