Thanks. I Have, it took me ages to view a bunch of different sounds but I went with welders sparks in the end. I still need to deepen and delay the sound to match the echo of that clip though.

Yes, I intend to use the clip from the desert before she jumps Kylos ship. I’ve removed that scene so it should work well. Just trying to finish other clips before starting more. I’ll post some test shots when I do them. Would be good to get some ideas of how it should malfunction at that moment?

I agree! I just feel those few early shots of Rey’s close-up need to be a little darker in the corners, and the Porg white light changed to a more orange tone to indicate the light coming from the fire and not the Sun.

Really great job on the ghostly glow and tone of this shot now. I also liked the shorter “You have everything you need” cut. Your hard work is extremely appreciated, dude.

My first thought would be, If the deleted scene of Rey running to the village is added to TLJ would that be considered “lesson 3”?

I also like how Luke interrupts Rey. It matches Luke’s attitude in TLJ. I also like 4.

P.S. I cut the “It was fear that kept me here”. line from Luke as I felt it contradicted the “Fear is the destiny of a Jedi” line.

This has been in the back of my mind for ages. Could it be that the water is discoloured so it changes the reflection?

I just found out a number of parents had an issue with “3PO, move your metal ass!” I did find that a little harsh for a kids movie so I’ve changed it to “3PO, NOW!”. Let me know if you wanna use it?

I like the idea of the metaphorical/physical “dark place” and things progressively getting lighter as she comes to terms with reality. It’s like poetry.

Or maybe I feel the younger characters haven’t earnt the right to treat him like crap. I Dunno, it makes me uncomfortable so I made 3PO a bit of a Dick to Poe so he at least earns it a bit. 🤣

Other than Poppa’s addition, the others were done with preset green screen layers. I’m still on the hunt for another element 3d or blender user. I have the models if someone has the time?

Han & 3PO had great humour in the OT but the sequels felt like old Dad jokes that are awkward. I really don’t like how the new team bully 3PO either. They got the chemistry all wrong. I feel particularly bad for 3PO in the cave. He completely gets ignored, at least the OT had interaction with him. The who “my friends” line in TROS isn’t earned at ALL!

You have no idea. Luke has basically no glow in the original due to the high-key lighting, so practically all of his brightness now is due to roto work. Same thing with Rey’s hood. Luckily the scene just short enough that after working on it, I still have some sanity left. Barely 😉

If you’ve already roto’d it have you thought about adding a glow effect to that layer and removing the feather?

I did think about doing a binary moon in an earlier scene. Thought we haven’t really seen that.

I like the idea but I’m not sure it needs a flashback at that point of the conversation. Giving Jannah a little more depth would’ve been nice though.
